Frustrated and incredibly troubled, Max ran home, with his clothes soaking wet. When he entered his house, his parents were already watching the incident on the news with guilt stricken faces.

"Mom! My powers nearly killed (Y/N)! I don't know what to do!"

His mom bit her lip, running her fingers through her son's drenched hair, "Max, there's something we haven't been honest about."

Max looked up at his mother, "Family meeting."

.

"Guys, there's something we lied to you about." Hank began, holding his wife's hand.

"We didn't move to Hiddenville to give you a normal life."

"What? Then why did we leave Metroburg?" Asked Nora from her seat on the couch.

"I'm going to tell you a little story." Barb sighed, sitting in between her children.

"Nearly 20 years ago, I was at one of the very few weddings between a human and a superhero. That superhero was my best friend and," She swallowed heavily, "(Y/N)'s mother."

"She married (Y/N)'s father and they were going to have a child. Now, since she married a human, it wasn't certain if they'd have a baby with super powers, but since she went through a super-pregnancy it seemed like it would be, but (Y/N) was born without powers and she didn't go through any super hero growth spurts. They were convinced she was a non-supe."

Barb sighed, feeling tears and her husband continued, tightening his grip on her hand, "(Y/N)'s father back-stabbed her mother, he revealed her location and she was killed and he went on the run with (Y/N)."

Barb sniffled, wiping a few stray tears, "(Y/N) was found nearly 2 years ago and she was living here, that's why we moved."

"W-Why not just tell her?" Asked Max.

"Because her mother wanted her as far as possible from this life if she had no powers, but now that she does, it's time we tell her the truth."

"Wait, she has powers?" "Yes, what happened at the mall and the incidents that had been taking place was because of her powers, not yours, Max."

Her son's eyes widened, "Shit!"

"What? What happened?"

"That was (Y/N)'s powers?!"

His mother just nodded numbly and he ran a hand through his hair, "Shit. I thought it was mine! I thought I would hurt her, so I just left!"

"You left her there?!" Phoebe stared at him with disbelief.

"I thought she might get hurt if my powers kept acting up. I didn't know it wasn't hers. She's going to hate me know."

Phoebe sighed and sat next to her brother, wrapping an arm around him, "Don't worry, I'll talk to her."

He shook his head, "Don't bother, when you tell her about her mom she's going to have enough to think about. I'll tell her myself when she's feeling better."

"Are you sure?"

He nodded, "I'm sure."

"So, she's really dead? As in, no chance of her being alive?"

Barb nodded solemnly, taking one of your hands in hers, "And my dad?"

"He was untraceable until nearly a year ago. They found an obituary. He was suffering from cancer."

You sighed, "And these powers?"

"You can learn to control them, but for now," Hank started handing you a bracelet, "This should cut off your powers, until you're ready."

You nodded, not even having the energy to give them a smile, "Thanks for telling me, I guess."

"Come to us if you need anything."

Once again, you nodded, leaving the house with a dark cloud hanging above your head.

Your head ached, this was a lot of information to process in such a short amount of time. Letting your hair out of a tight ponytail, you sighed, running a hand through your locks.

You got home pretty quickly in your opinion but that was just because you were so caught up in your own thoughts. Swallowing an Advil, you changed into more comfortable clothing and climbed into bed.

You had been waiting for this day for your entire life, the day you found out what happened to your parents, but in your head, you always came to know that they were alive and looking for you as well, not that your father had indirectly killed your mother and then died himself due to terminal illness.

You sighed, rubbing your temples, this was more than you could handle. You wanted to cry, you felt like you should, but no tears would leave your eyes. It felt like you were completely void of emotions and thoughts. The only thing stopping you from being a corpse was a beating heart which felt uncomfortably light.

It was disturbing, how light your body could feel. It hadn't really hit you yet, your mother was a superhero, your dad was a murderer, they both were dead, you had superpowers.

Was that it?

These little pieces of information had rendered both your mind and body useless and you just lay in your bed until the next morning when you just couldn't get up.

Your body didn't listen to your minds commands, which was understandable since your mind wasn't even thinking straight. Why weren't you crying like a baby in the most beautiful way possible while its raining?

Why weren't you eating ice cream or going through a mental breakdown?

Why was sunshine streaming through your window?

Why couldn't you even force one tear?

You had the ability to control water and yet, you couldn't even force a tear out of your eyes.

'It's because of the bracelet.' You thought, pulling yourself to sit on your bed.

In your head, you were hoping that when you took off the bracelet, nothing would happen and it would prove to you that none of this is real.

With a shaky breath, you pulled the bracelet off your arm and looked around the room

'Nothing yet.'

You continued looking around. Nothing.

'This is all one big joke.' Relieved, you managed a small laugh and rubbed your face, 'Good one.'

That relief only lasted for about a minute, until you sneezed and your water bottle exploded.

Eyes wide, you picked up a towel and crawled towards the remains of your water bottle but as you reached to wipe away the water, it moved away from you.

'The floor must be tilted.' You reasoned and tried to wipe it from the other side when it moved away again. Mouth slightly ajar, you got up and went to the washroom.

'I must be hallucinating, I didn't sleep last night at all.'

You tiredly turned the tap and as water ran, you were slightly relieved, 'It didn't explode.'

But as you tried to wash your face, the water defied the laws of gravity and avoided your hand.

You scoffed, 'I can control water my ass. It has a mind of it's own.'

Frustrated, you let out a scream. You couldn't punch a mirror, you couldn't break things and throw things around the room so all you could do was scream.

'I want to kill someone.'

But screaming didn't help at all because the water gathered itself in a bubble a feet above the sink and your breath felt like it was knocked out of lungs. Afraid that the floating blob of water would end up attacking you, you grabbed your bracelet, running back inside the bathroom and put it on.

The mass of water immediately fell into the sink, splashing everywhere.

'Okay, so I'm a superhero. What now?'
