《Oh Baby》After the Glitter Fades

The long night had abruptly came to an end when Ginny started barking. Stevie's personal alarm clock got the pair up and now they had to face reality. Stevie was dreading having to have a real talk about all this. Would they get engaged? Did she even want to marry him? Was he going to move in? Her head was spinning with all of the possibilities.

"Good morning, angel," Lindsey looked directly at Stevie's stomach and leaned in to kiss her small belly. "And good morning to you, too," Lindsey kissed Stevie's forehead.

"Ok, so what now, Linds? What are we gonna do?"

"Well, I dunno. I assume you should make a doctor's appointment?"

"No, I meant with us, like are we together? What do you want to do, Buck?" Stevie hated having to have this conversation. She wasn't sure she was ready for what Lindsey would have to say.

"Well, I think it's only fair to this baby that his parents are together, no? That makes sense, I think. You know how much I love you, Steph. I won't let you or this baby slip through my fingers again. And I even think we should get married too." Lindsey ran his hands through his hair and onto the back of his neck, unsure of what her response was going to be.

"If that's what you want, I agree, I love you too, Lindsey Buckingham. So much." Stevie took a deep breath, relieved at his answer. She couldn't believe it. And he wanted to get married at some point too! The couple had talked about marriage quite a few times, but they never went through with it. She hoped that this time they would go through with it. The Buckinghams. The thought of that brought a smile to her Stevie's.

"Wait, did you say his? How are you so sure this baby is going to be a boy," Stevie retorted playfully.

"I just have a feeling about this! Imagine a little boy running around. I'll play baseball with him, teach him to swim, and of course teach him guitar," Lindsey's eyes were wide with daydreaming.

"Well, I think it's a girl! A little girl that will wear pretty dresses, have her Daddy's eyes, and she'll have the most beautiful singing voice, too." Lindsey reached his arms out and wrapped himself around Stevie. He sealed the moment with a kiss on her lips, solidifying his love for her and the baby, no matter if it was a boy or a girl.

"How are we going to tell everyone?" Stevie asked nervously. Christine was the only other person in the world who knew this and Stevie knew her parents would be upset as she and Lindsey weren't married, or even really engaged yet.

"We don't have to worry about that yet," Lindsey looked down at Stevie's stomach that was barely showing any change yet.

"My parents, I want to tell my parents. I'll fly them out, I can't tell them over the phone. I- I- Lindsey, I'm scared."

"Honey, you're a grown woman. I don't think your parents think you're not having sex."

"No, not about that. What if it doesn't-" Stevie's eyes start to fill with tears and she buries her head in Lindsey's chest. "I can't loose another baby. What if Don's was my only chance to be a mother? And I threw it all away?"

"Baby, don't say that. This will work out ok? I'm not going to let anything happen to you or to this baby," Lindsey tried his best to reassure the mountain of sorrow standing in front of him."

Stevie couldn't help but think back to a few years ago when she was with Don.
