Summary: Set when the humans were killing off the vampires inside of the citadel or whatever it was called. Vanessa's trapped under some cement from the collapsing parts of the citadel. When Axel finds her, can he get her out on his own? Will she be okay?

It was a nebulous night, as Vanessa Van Helsing lay under a ton of big pieces of cement from the grenades. Humans fighting vampires had gotten a hold of some grenades, so they were using them. She was glad the vampires were getting what they deserved, but she knew she needed help. She couldn't move without being crushed. Or worst. The iron rod in her chest kept her from moving. It hadn't touched her heart, but it was close. And she could feel that she'd lost a lot of blood. She wasn't healing, because the iron rod prevented her from doing so. She didn't know how long she'd been like this, but as everything began to go black, she heard a familiar voice.

Axel had been wandering around, looking for Vanessa. Despite being separated, he knew she'd be here to try taking down a couple of the older vampires. However, when he saw her in the distance, he knew she needed help.

"Vanessa!" he said over all of the noise, as he rushed over to her. He then knelt at her side, only to immediately see that she'd lost a lot of blood. He saw an iron rod stabbed into her too, as well as her starting to go under. "You're gonna be okay, Sleeping Beauty. I'm gonna get you out of here," he assured her. He then began working on getting pieces of cement off her, carefully but quickly trying to get her out of there. As he did so, he hoped that she'd be okay.

About forty minutes later, he got her nearly fully unburied, so he gently pulled her away from the pieces of cement, freeing her legs. Then, once knelt by her again, he pulled the iron rod out of her chest, hoping for her to heal quickly now.

"Vanessa," he said, knelt by her, a hand on the side of her face, waiting for her to wake up, though he knew they couldn't stay there too long. The building was still falling in pieces in certain places, considering the humans were still using anything and everything they could to kill off the vampires that called this place home. Knowing that, he took his hand away and used his knife to cut his wrist, before putting it to her lips, making his blood go down her throat, hoping it would heal her faster. Even if not, it would at least restore the blood she'd lost.

After a few minutes, he felt her bite into his open wound and grab his arm, feeding on him. Though she'd lost a lot of blood from her wound and being stuck under there, he wasn't and probably never would be afraid of her taking too much. Unlike normal vampires, she always knew when to stop.

When she pulled away, her wound was healed, as he tied a cloth around his open wound. She felt weak, but he knew her as a very determined person. She didn't like having to ask for help, nor was she one to give up without a fight.

He helped her up, an arm around her, his gun's strap slung over his shoulder.

"Let's get out of here," he said.

She did as he suggested, not wanting to stay there any longer after what she'd just dealt with.
