《Van Helsing》Save Me

Summary: Set in S2 when Axel was a vampire, but a little different. There's no Doc finding him. He goes looking for Vanessa by himself. However, when he can't find food for a while, it gets difficult. When Vanessa runs across a starving, near death vampire Axel, can she save him by turning him back? Will he be okay? Will the bite she gives him turn him back, or will it kill him?

Axel had been roaming on his own since breaking out of the bunker, which had had rock blocking his way out. He'd been searching for her ever since, only getting blood from any hospital bags he could find on the way. He hadn't been able to find any for what felt like several days, though. He was weak and kept having to take a break. He could feel that she had to be close by, though. He needed to find her, because he needed her to turn him back into a human. He never wanted to be a vampire, but he was one, after all. The miracle though, was that Vanessa could turn vampires human. She could save him from eventually becoming like all the rest of them. He wasn't an idiot. He knew fighting the urge eventually wouldn't work. He didn't want to become a monster, though.

Suddenly, when he had gotten to a field of grass, he fell to the ground. Then, as he lay there, feeling like he couldn't go any further, the sun came out somewhat, brightening the area. As it did, it felt great to him, feeling the warmth, as everything began to blur and go gray.

Meanwhile, Vanessa was walking through the woods, as she continued looking for the others. She'd lost her daughter a while back, so she was determined to find her friends. Then she wanted to go back to the bunker to dig Axel out.

When she got past all the trees, she found a clearing of grass, which was when she saw him. She could always tell when it was him, because of his military attire.

"Axel."

She rushed to his side, kneeling by him. That's when she noticed his condition. After being unable to feed her own daughter humans for her to survive, not being the kind of person that could kill others when they didn't mean any harm, she recognized the signs. He was pale and clearly starving. He clearly hadn't had any blood for at least a few days, give or take. She hadn't even known if he had turned or not, because they had all had to flee due to so many ferals.

As she sat there, debating on whether to risk biting him or not, not wanting to sentence him to death if turning him back didn't work, she rested a hand on his, she hoped she wasn't going to lose him. They'd been through too much together for her to lose him for good. She didn't want that day to come. Not as long as she was alive.

"Axel, it's me. Can you hear me?" she called,

After a few moments, she heard him say her name, but very weakly. He wasn't moving, either. She could tell that whatever choice she made, it was going to have to make it in the next few minutes. He was clearly not in the condition to be able to move. She knew that it didn't matter if her turning him back killed him, because if she didn't do it, she'd have to find some kind of blood source for him, or he was going to die anyway.

"I'm here. It's going to be okay," she promised, hoping that when she did bite him and he turned back, that it truly would be okay. She didn't like making empty promises, after all. She was a lot like Axel these days, though some days they were so different that you couldn't believe that they had had a fling with one another a while back.

She gently got him on his back and then sat with him against her, before she bit into the side of his neck. Then, after a couple of minutes, she pulled away. She then gently layed him down on his back, waiting to see what would happen. Then, shortly after, he woke up, turning onto his side, and coughing up blood, which was a great sign. After all, that was what every vampire did that she bit. A part from the first feral she bit a year ago, that was.

When he'd finished, he rolled back onto his back, which was when he saw her.

"Hey, Sleeping Beauty."

"Hiya, Soldier," she replied.

She gave a smile. Then they got to their feet, her helping him, considering he'd just nearly died when he'd been a vampire. They then headed on their journey to find the others.
