《Crossroads (Lesbian Stories)(gxg)》Chapter 28: Closure

Christy's POV

Kayla and I have been talking again. Not like relationship wise but like friend wise. When Kayla and I were dating, she wasn't just my girlfriend, she was my best friend too. I lost my girlfriend and best friend when Kayla cheated on me. Right now, I wouldn't consider her my best friend again, but more like friends.

The wounds are still very fresh. I still trust Kayla but I don't think I would trust her with my heart again. I mean like Kayla is still a friend of mine and we can have short conversations without it getting too awkward. The tense vibe that used to constantly linger between us has diminished into something that occurs once in a while now.

But you know like every time I see Jesse in the hallway I want to punch him in the face but then again I remember that it was Kayla's fault also. I don't think I could ever forgive her. It's only been like what 3 weeks? I stopped crying over her though. I came to senses that no matter how much I cry, it wouldn't change the fact she cheated on me with Jesse.

I honestly think more about if Kayla actually loved me and meant everything she said to me. I wonder if it was all a lie. I wonder what I did wrong. I know I probably didn't do anything wrong but I just can't help to think of it.

Maybe what I need is closure. I don't know though. I never got closure from Carmen and I turned out fine. I loved Kayla with all my heart though, however I don't know if the person I loved actually existed. If it was actually real to her.

The bell rang and it brought me out of my thoughts. I got up and headed toward my locker. It was Friday and I had the house to myself since Maddie had a hockey tournament in another state or something so I had the whole house to myself for the weekend. I'm probably gonna watch Netflix all weekend and just walk around in my underwear.

As I walked out of the school, I noticed that it was raining. It was pouring buckets and there was a clap of thunder every 5 minutes or so. I reached for my umbrella that was in my backpack and I realized it wasn't there.

Fuck I gave it to Kayla to use and I never got it back. Now I have to walk home in the rain with no umbrella, great.

I put my hood up and I started walking in the rain. I could already feel droplets of water hitting my face and my jacket getting soaked with rain water. I sighed and couldn't wait to get home so I could take a long, hot shower to get the sticky feeling of rain off me. The rain was blurring my vision since the wind was blowing everywhere and I just kept walking.

Suddenly a car drove up to me and slowed down. The window rolled down and it was Kayla.

"Need a ride?" She asked as she unlocked the car door and pushed it open from the driver's seat.

I got into the car and I was literally dripping water all over her car. "Shit I'm making a mess, sorry."

"It's no problem, a little rain never hurt anything. Why didn't you call me and ask for a ride home?"

I shrugged my shoulders and looked out the window before replying. "I thought you would have soccer practice."

Kayla giggled as she stopped at the red light. "Even our coach isn't crazy enough for us to have practice in this weather."

The rest of the ride was silent. One of those tense vibes had engulfed the car ride again. Kayla pulled up in front of my house and I dug through my bag looking for my keys, but they were nowhere to be found.

"Fuck." I mumbled as I started taking everything out of my bag, searching for the keys.

"What's wrong?" Kayla asked in a concerned tone.

"I can't find my keys to the house and my family is out for the weekend." I groaned as I sat back in the seat.

"Oh." Kayla said and then there was a pause before she spoke. "I know it's probably the last thing you want to do, but do you want to stay over at my house for the weekend? We have a lot of guests rooms and I still have your stuff that you could wear to bed. You don't have to talk to me or anything, I just want you to be somewhere dry."

I looked up at her and she was staring at me with concern in my eyes. She really was concerned about where I was going to stay for the weekend. "Okay sure. Thank you Kayla."

Kayla gave me a small smile before she started driving, "My pleasure Christy."

The car ride to her house was quiet once again, but this time there was no tension between us. It was more of the comfortable silence we used to have when we were together.

When we got to the house, my nostrils filled with the smell of chicken noodle soup.

"Kayla? Is that you?" A voice called from the kitchen.

"Yes Margaret it's me! I brought a friend home too." Kayla said as she set her stuff down on the couch.

"Come to the kitchen and get some food to eat!" Margaret said.

We walked into the kitchen and I saw a short, older looking lady standing by the stove stirring in a pot. I knew Margaret was Kayla's maid but I had never really met her since she always seemed to be gone when I was at her house.

Margret turned around and when she saw me her eyes lit up, "Ah Christy! So nice to see you! Please eat, eat!" She poured some soup into two bowls and brought it to the dining room. "Kayla may I see you in the other room?"

I looked at Kayla and made a face asking her what was up and she shrugged her shoulders as she walked into the other room.

"You didn't tell me that you and Christy were together again!" Margaret said in a hushed tone. Well it wasn't really hushed since I could hear what she was saying but I continued to listen on.

"Shhhh! Mar, she'll hear you. And no we're not together again. She's just sleeping over because she got locked out of her house." Kayla explained in a whispered tone.

"I like her more than that other boy. What's his name? Jason? Jason is a stupid boy. Don't ask me how I know, but Margaret knows."

"His name was Jesse, Margaret." Kayla said, I could literally see her rolling her eyes at Margret.

"Ai, don't matter! Worry about Christy, silly girl!" Margaret said and I could hear her footsteps walking away as Kayla entered the room again.

"I'll take it that Margaret likes me?" I said as I ate another spoonful of soup.

"Oh you heard that?" Kayla said as she turned red.

"Well you two weren't exactly quiet about it."

Kayla blushed as we ate our soup in silence. When she finished, I decided to finally hit her with the real questions.

"Kayla, why did you cheat on me?" I asked bluntly.

Kayla was taken back by it and sat there in silence before she said anything. "Oh, uh, it was the weekend when you went away with Maddie for one of her tournaments. I was feeling lonely and I called Jesse to hang out and we ended up at his place and it just happened so like yeah."

"Did you initiate it?"

"No I didn't."

"And you guys had sex?"

Kayla looked down and she nodded her head slightly.

It felt like daggers going through my heart but I didn't cry because it wouldn't achieve anything. I leaned forward and looked straight at her, "You meant everything you said to me when we were together, right?"

"Yes. I really did and still love you Christy. I made a stupid mistake and now this is the price I pay."

I nodded my head and stood up and placed my bowl into the sink. "I'm going to go to the guest room."

Kayla nodded as she just sat on the table.

I've been to Kayla's house enough times to know the way around the house. Just as I was about to enter a guest room, Margaret walked out of the room.

"I fixed the room up for you. Can I ask you something Christy? Kayla cheated on you?" Margaret said in a low voice.

"Ummm.."

"I already know. Kayla is stupid for doing that to you, she cannot think straight. But I know she loves you very much, Christy. She is young and dumb. Give her another chance if you could, but you a good kid Christy, I don't want you getting hurt again." said in a sincere voice.

I smiled at this sweet lady which reminded me so much of my mother. "Thank you, Margaret."

I took off the damp jacket, jeans, and t shirt so I was just in my sports bra and underwear. I locked the door and laid on the bed.

Kayla cheated on me, simple as that. She never even took the chance to tell me either, I had to find out by catching them in the action. Would she had told me she cheated on me? When Carmen cheated on me, I didn't give her a second chance. It didn't matter how much she begged and pleaded, I said no and we've been together for 6 months.

Except now here I am, I have dated Kayla for a little over 3 months and part of me wants to give her a second chance, to try to rekindle the fire, but the other part tells me no because she will do it again.

Would Kayla do it again though?

Kayla looks like she is in so much pain every time I ask a question or talk about Jesse. However she does not seem bothered by Jesse when she hangs out with him, especially when they went to boat dance together. It's obvious that Jesse still wants Kayla and for some reason Kayla hasn't went to him. I guess she wants to be with me but then again she cheated on me with him so we both lost the game.

I don't know if I still love Kayla. Part of me wants to just run up to her and jump in her arms and feel safe again but I know it won't work because the person who hurt you can't be the person who gives you comfort too.

At least I know Kayla wasn't the one who initiated it. But she didn't stop it either.

Honestly I don't know why Kayla cheated. We were so happy together. There was never a dull moment when we were together. My family loved her too, Steph, Maddie, and Katelyn absolutely loved her. Now she ruined their trust and they hate her guts and if she ever sets foot in our house again she'll probably get ripped to pieces.

Was it not enough? Or was it too much? Maybe it's not what she wanted.

Then why would I be here? Kayla is still trying to win me back. If I do take her back, nothing will be the same. The trust between us will forever be damaged and I feel like I would constantly think she was cheating on me which isn't a healthy relationship.

Oh god what do I do?

Do you think Christy will take Kayla back?

This chapter is a new style I'm trying, just mainly Christy's thoughts. Please leave feedback on whether you like this new style and if you would like me to write a chapter similar to this but in Kayla's POV. Happy reading!
