《In The Shadows (Star Trek TOS/AOS)》Part 2

With a pounding headache Gwen sat up to look around the room. One thing she was for sure these weren't her quarters, "I see you've finally come round," the voice echoed as she rubbed her eyes to regain some vision, "You got pretty drunk last night," "And don't I know it. Now then as I'm here you want breakfast I can make a mean bacon and eggs," "That sounds good." They talked again over breakfast, for the first time in a while they felt something they'd never felt before. It was electrifying, it made them feel awake, alive. They couldn't be? Could they though. Could they actually falling in love? No how stupid.
Later that afternoon it was just Gweynneth and Kirk on the bridge, everyone else was at Yorktown. "Hey Gwen?" "Yeah," "Catch!" He threw the tennis ball he was playing with at her, "Hey no fair!" She snapped back launching it back at him but missed, "You have a lousy shot, bran!" "Hey what does that mean?" "It means cow," "You little cheek." He said chasing her on the bridge all the while dodging the tennis balls which were strangely enough flying in all directions. Spock and Bones came onto the bridge with Gwen's dad. To quite a sight. There was a gap in the wall panels, with Gwen being a flexible twig James dared her to climb in. Long story short she got stuck tighter than a pair of wet wellies (not fun). "Bones thank god can we get her out?" "I think I'm gonna need a little context here," Bones chuckled walking towards the mess, "No you don't I remember when you got stuck at the pub, we told her to climb the pub roof to get the shuttlecocks out the gutters she then slipped and we stuck in the chimney," all eyes turned to her laughing dad. James was trying his hardest to pull her out but that wasn't working.

Something began crawling up her leg at a rapid pace, her face went pale. With an almighty shout Gweynneth leapt out and began slamming her leg with what ever she could find, out of nowhere the biggest daddy long legs you ever did see came hurtling across the floor, she was up on the console freaking out. "You said you weren't afraid of spiders anymore Gills?" "Is this all the answer you need?" She snapped back, Spock was just standing there watching this all go down.
One thing Gweynneth soon learnt is that there is little time without a thrilling adventure. She was on the away team to rescue the crew of the USS Galaxy in the squadron 7351, there was just one problem the only place they could be beamed down is the open grass land but the survivors were in the woods further up the mountain. Sulu slipped halfway up and sliced his wrist, Bones forced them to stop for at least the time it took for him to patch Sulu up. Then again Kirk was caught staring at her long golden hair, glittering grey eyes and her well toned figure.
This time Sulu caught him.
Another almost moment. Exactly as predicted the survivors were by a cave half way up the mountain. What they had lacked to mention is that they set booby traps around there camp out, going in they didn't trip any but when Gwen fell over her own two feet she tripped one. One of the worst, seeing the phaser cannons in the branches James ran over and pulled Gweynneth out of the firing range. Out of instinct he gripped her shoulders to make themselves smaller of a target, all it took was a spark. Still a little shook Kirk accidentally had Gweynneth pinned against the cliff face. "Go on kiss her already!" Bones yelled as James and Gweynneth finally locked lips for the first time. They stopped themselves as they were still technically in public.

Though lady luck was not on his side, through an unfortunate string of events, he became the source of entertainment for a goddess. Though it may sound nice, "nice" is definitely the last word he'd use to describe what's about to happen to him.
