《Fusion Online》Chapter 20: The End

A young, beautiful female teen, which we all know as Heather, slowly wakes up as a beam of light goes through the window and hits her face. She sits up straight on her bed as she yawns and stretches her arms. She looks to her left to see a midnight black hair teen asleep. He's no other than Ian, however, his username is Caliber. Heather smiles as she hugs the sleeping boy.
"I love you, Ian." Heather whispers to his ears. "Love you too." Ian replies softly. This causes Heather to release him and fall off the bed. She has no clue that Ian was awake, so he took her by surprise. "I-Ian!" She yells a bit angrily at him. Ian just laughs his ass off. Heather stands up, an angry and disapproval look on her face. "Ian! Why did you scare me like that!" She exclaims. Ian, still laughing, manages to reply.
"Well, why would you hug me in the middle of my sleep?"
Heather gasps softly. "How dare you use that as an excuse!" She remarks as her face is red in blush. This, however, causes Ian to keep laughing hysterically. Heather will not deal with Ian's shenanigans, especially not this early in the morning. She swiftly pushes Ian off the bed, and he lands on his chest. Heather proceeds to get on his back and grab his right hand and put it behind his left shoulder blade. "Ok ok ok ok I'm sorry." Ian says, somehow managing too keep laughing. "What was that? I can't hear you." Heather says in a teasing voice. "I said I'm sorry!" Ian says, trying his best to not laugh. Heather keeps him in the lock for a while longer before releasing Ian. She gets up and walks to the bathroom. Ian sighs as he opens his menu and changes clothes to his black sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
Heather exits the bathroom, changed to her white shirt work gold trimming and blue jeans. Ian smiles at his wife. "You look gorgeous." He complements. Heather exhales sharply as she looks away from him, still acting like she's mad at him. "Oh C'mon," Ian walks behind her and wraps his ar is around her waist ,"what do you want me to say?" He asks. "I don't know." Heather replies. She's curious to see what Ian will do if she keeps her act up. "Maybe we can have some fun?" He whispers as he places soft kisses on the side of her neck. "That sounds....tempting." She tells his husband. Before the two can continue, a beeping noise interrupts the two. Ian groans as he throws himself back to bed. Heather walks to the nightstand and takes out her hologram projector.
"Heather, beautiful as ever." Calem tells Heather. Ian sits upright, squinting his eyes to the hologram, clearly pissed at Calem for saying that. It may be a simple complement, it the three know that Calem still loves Heather, even though she broke up with him years ago. "Stop it and cut to the chase." Heather sighs, pissed that her ex is still doing that. "As you say beautiful. I'm afraid your honeymoon has ended today. The Spartan Republic needs you back, and the it's a direct order from the Senate Commando's." Calem informs. Heather looks at him in disbelief. "What! Why!?" She angrily asks for an explanation. "We will inform you in detail once you arrive." Calem says as he ends the transmission. Heather sighs. "I guess we have to go." She says, sad that Calem ended the honeymoon.

"Hey. Don't be sad. We'll come back afterwards." Ian says as he stands up and walks to Heather. "Alright. Let's go." The two grab their warp crystal and teleport to Naboo's capital. Once there, they walk through the huge Promethean warp portal.
-----
"Alright! Why did you call us in!" Heather demands an explanation. The Senate Commando's look at Calem to see what he will say. "Early today, we sent a recon team of 5 to check out the boss floor," Calem starts the explanation ," but they never returned. The entire team was wiped out, with no word of who or what is inside."
"The couldn't teleport out, could they?" Heather inquires. "That is correct." Calem affirms. "We fear that after this boss. We might start stacking our losses once again." Sephora informs. Heather and Ian look at each other. Ever since the 4th boss, all the Alliances have figured out a plan to not lose any lives during the battles. That reduced the amount of deaths immensely. The couple look back at the commando's.
"And how do you plan to defeat this boss, if we don't even know what faction he's in or what he is?" Ian asks. "Well. We have united every alliance and invited every player to help us in this fight. I will also fight in this battle." Calem says. Heather immediately realized how powerful this boss is, especially if it made Calem want to fight. "The raid will start at 14:15. I want everybody at the portal by 13:50. You are dismissed." Calem says. Heather and Ian walk out of the room.
-----
"Ian!? Heather!?" Darcy says as she approaches the two with Artie by her side. "Hey guys. What's up?" Ian smiles at the two players approaching them. "Not much not much. Leveled up a bit, got new armor as you can tell." Darcy says, for she has upgraded to Arc trooper phase II armor, still keeping her pink design on it. She also has a black and pink pauldron and her kama is black with the edges being pink and has pink, diagonal stripe design. "She's not the only one with upgrades though." Artie smirks and, just like Darcy, is holding his helmet underneath his right arm. The difference between his upgrade and Darcy's is that he has an Arf trooper helmet with orange trimming along the visor and three large stripes, all about two inches apart, on the right part of his helmet, one which goes along his visor. He is also wearing a pauldron, but the color scheme is black with orange. His torsos has white and orange lines along the edges of his armor. He has an A on his right part of his chest-plate. He is also wearing a kama, except he has no color design on it, just plain black.
"When did you get the armor upgrade?" Ian asks the two. "Well, today was when we started adding the design and details on it. So like yesterday." Darcy answers. "On the side note, Artie asked me out yesterday as well." Darcy adds. "Really!!" Heather and Ian say at the same time.
"Yup! It was about damn time as well. So I said yes." Darcy says, grinning happily. "Yea....I thought knead friendzoned, but lucky for me, I wasn't." Artie says, a shade of red covering his face.
At that exact moment, Max, out of no where, places his arm around Artie. "See! I told you she would say yes." The clones player happily says. He is wearing regular phase II clone armor, with his color scheme still being purple. His helmet has Jagger Eyes, the same Captain Rex from Star Wars does, and it shows his bravery in the battle field and that the first letter of his name is an M.

"Hey Max. Long time no see." Ian says. "How's it going?" Darcy asks the older player.
"I guess so..." Artie murmurs.
"Max, How've you been?" Heather asks.
"Yup. It's been a while, Ian. It's all good Darcy. And I've been, thanks for you concern commander." Max answers the question and replies to the comments that the four players have made. Before any conversation can continue, John, Lief, and Jackie walk to the four.
"What's up guys?" Connor asks, who is wearing all war master Spartan armor, with the primary color being Steel and secondary being green. "How'd the honeymoon go?" Jackie asks, and she is wearing all Spartan Fotus armor in all violet color. Her visor is silver, which may not match the colors she has, but she likes it.
"Hey." Is all that Leif says. She is still wearing her Clone Cadet armor, with yellow stripes on her shoulder down to her wrist and a number 1 on her left part of her chest-plate.
"Hey! Connor!" Max waves at him as everyone else say their hellos. Ian was surprised that EVERYBODY came. He thought that maybe just Artie and Darcy, and potentially Max, but never the entire squad. Ian smiles that everybody is here, but deep down, he's worried that they might not survive, if the boss is as strong as they say as it is.
And the eight players converse, catching up with each others life's and telling stories about recent events. Before long, Calem walks by with all the senate commando's behind him. Every player, which estimates about half the amount of players that are alive, turn to Calem, who is standing in front of a giant Promethean portal.
"Listen well men. This boss is stronger than any other boss we have face before. The Spartan Republic sent a recon force to investigate the boss, but sadly, they never returned. This forces us to assume that whatever is behind this portal must be extremely dangerous. So the plan is simple. We walk in and hit it with everything we got. I know this seems reckless, but we do not have enough Intel to make a good plan." Calem says, his speech loud enough to be heard by every player gathered. Everyone nods as they load their weapons. Some of them have rocket launchers, Z-6 rotary cannons, SPRnK rocket launchers (the halo reach rocket launchers), Spartan lasers, Plex launchers, and other heavy weapons. Others carry Assault Rifles, Battle Rifles, DMR, covenant carbine, plasma casters, Hydra Launchers, DC-15S, DC-15A, and many more weapons of that sort. But all of them have one thing. A sword. Whether it's a Vibroblade, Plasma Sword, Magnaguard Staff, or plasma katana's. "Alright men. Move out!" Calem orders S he walks through the portal. Nobody knew it, but they were walking straight to hell.
-----
The giant metallic doors open, and all the players rush inside, their weapons aimed and ready to fire. The room is large, extremely large. There is a dim orange light, indicating that the boss might be Promethean.
"It's quiet." Connor says, his DMR held closely to his shoulder and ready to fire. "Yea.... It is." Lief comments as she brings her DC-15S up. The room is then flooded with white light, revealing by the room and the boss. They see a Promethean figure sitting on a throne. He is looking down at the floor before he stood up and looks at the players. He stands at 15 feet tall, and is white and grey with the occasional orange. "Who are you!?" Calem asks, his sword and shield drawn.
"I am Warden Eternal," the warden says as he stands up and draws his sword out ," placed under the service of Cortana. A few Spartans came earlier today, looking for a safe passage. Their trip was denied, and their fate is the same as yours!" The Warden says as he lunges foreword and swings his sword, slicing twenty players, which go flying across the room and shatter like a vase of glass.
"He just one hit them!" Connor says, fear entering his system. The warden goes for another swing, but is blocked by Ian's lightsaber. Heather takes out her sword and her blade glows purple as she strikes the Warden's chest. "Everybody! Heather, Ian, and I will block his attacks! Everyone else attack from the sides!" Calem yells the order as he blocks the next strike from the boss. Everyone nods as they start their attack, rockets flying towards the boss, laser striking the boss and bullets damaging the Warden. The warden grunts sharply as he swings his sword to his left, killing 16 more players. Ian and Heather take this opportunity and do a team strike, both their swords glowing a shade of pink and stab the boss, causing heavy damage. The warden angrily screams as he swigs his sword horizontally towards Heather and Ian, who manage to block the attack. But even so, their health drops a bit. Calem rushes foreword and slashes the boss, it's health lowering to yellow. The Warden Eternal throws a punch at Calem, who brings his shield up and blocks the attack, however, his health is now entering the yellow zone. The second wave of rockets and Spartan laser hit the boss, breaking his armor and a blue orb appears on the boss's back. "Everyone! Hit the blue orb!" Ian orders as all the players focus their attention at the orb. The Warden turns around and swings his sword, killing 73 more players. Ian sees a chance. He jumps up, Stabs the blue orb. The boss screeches in pain as the orb starts sucking him away him away. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" The warden yells as the last of him gets sucked away, never to be seen again. All the players start panting. For the survivors have manage to avoid all the attacks and are exhausted from the fight.
Ian sits down, catching his breath. Heather sits in back of him and rests her back on his. Ian looks at Calem, who is not exhausted. He notices his health is in the beginning of yellow while everyone else is on red or. entering red. Ian slowly stands up, and grabs a sniper rifle that a dead player had dropped. "What's wrong?" Heather asks, concerned for her husband. Ian aims at Calem's head. He pulls the trigger, sending a sniper billet screaming through the air and hitting Calem in the head.
"I knew it." Ian mutters. The bullet has ricochet off his head, and a small screen appeared with the word 'Immortal Object' on it. Everyone looks at Calem, their eyes widen in shock. Calem chuckles once, and turns around at Ian, an evil grin on his face.
"So. You discovered the dark secret of this game. That I trapped you all here." Calem says.
"Yea....it was obvious. You always had five levels above me after we met. And all you ever did was sit around, bossing other players around and sending them to their deaths." Ian grits his teeth. Heather's stares at Calem. She couldn't believe it. Her once best friend and ex boyfriend trapped her and everyone else in this game.
"Of course, I'm not the only one that knew." Calem says, looking at his sister, Darcy.
"D-Darcy! Y-you knew!?" Artie exclaims, sadness taking over him. "I-it's not what you think! I swear I had nothing to do with this trapping!" Darcy's says, taking her helmet off. Her eyes filled with water as tears roll down her cheeks. "How could you! I trusted you! I got this game because of you!" Artie angrily says. "I HATE you!" Artie says as he takes several steps back. Those words send a spear through her heart. She honestly didn't know that Calem did this. "N-no. Artie don't say that. I love you." Darcy says, crying. "Artie. Don't blame her. She didn't know that I would trap her or anyone in here. She just didn't told anyone cause I told her I would kill her." Calem evilly says. Darcy hugs Artie. "Don't hate me... Please." She cries into his shoulder. Artie slowly hugs her, inside of what to do.
"Why! Why would you do that!?" Heather asks, pain that her ex friend would do that.
"Don't you see!! Everything I've done, built, was all for you!! But then that bastard Ian came along and took you from me!!" Calem angrily tells Heather, and says the word Ian with disgust.
If you truly loved her, you wouldn't have done this." Ian says, dropping the sniper. "Don't you see! Heather was always to busy with video games to go out on dates! She always had some raid, strike, or SOMETHING to avoid me. So I thought. My parent's company is developing a AR game. So I convinced them to make it out of Star Wars and Halo, since those were Heather's favorite franchises. My parent's had no clue about the trapping system. Heck! They don't even know I am IN this game, because I can logout. They think I'm in my apartment, doing my work to high school. I, however, pay someone to deal with that. So now that my plan has failed! I must kill you, Ian. For taking my girlfriend away!" Calem says as he sends out a shockwave that paralyzes everyone. "Now YOU will see the true power of Calem Saratoga!" Calem laughs evilly. "Alright. I'll have a duel with you. If I win, you release everyone from this game." Ian says. "And if you lose?" He asks. "Well. I'll be dead and the game will continue." Ian says. "I'll defeat you Ian. You have made a grave mistake." Calem tells Ian.
"I swore an oath," Ian starts a speech, which will be remembered for years, and ignites his black lightsaber, indicating that's the sword's name ,"to defend those who can't fight, to protect my friends and the one I love." He then takes out his other lightsaber. "And I have faith," Ian turns on his yellow lightsaber ,"that everyone will make it out of here alive." He finishes his speech as he looks at Calem. The two prepare for a fight. "Ian! Don't!" Heather says, not wanting to lose him. But it was too late. Ian had already rushed foreword and swung his sword around, going for Calem's chest, torso, and shoulders. Calem takes a step back with every block he makes. Ian jumps over Calem, Ian's head facing the ground, and goes for a stroke to Calem's head in mid-air. Calem ducks and places his shield above him, blocking the attack. Ian lands behind Calem and strikes his back, which Calem manages to sidestep and dodge the attack. Ian sidesteps to his left, avoiding a vertical strike. Ian starts swinging his swords to Calem's head, who steps back and avoids the attack. Calem goes for another vertical swing. Ian moves to the left. He dodges the main attack, but the sword makes a cut through Ian's right eye. Ian gasps sharply as he looks at Calem angrily. Ian yells as he uses his 18 combo sword skill. He swings his sword, trying to break Calem's defense.
'Faster!' Ian thinks as he is 1/4 through his attack. 'I have to go faster!' He thinks again as his speed increases. His strikes are as fasts as lightning, and anyone watching has lost track of were the sword is and were it will strike next. Calem grunts as he blocks the attack. He knows he can't keep this up, even with his unique skill activated. Ian does his final strike that breaks Calem's defense. Calem brings his sword in front of him as Ian rushes at him. Ian doesn't care about the sword. He runs straight at him, Calem's sword stabbing Ian. Calem smirks, for he thinks he has gain victory because of Ian's stupid mistake. He is wrong. Ian drops his yellow lightsaber, grabs his Westar-35 and shoots Calem multiple times under the jaw, sending Calem's health to zero in seconds. Calem gasps as he shatters into a billion pieces, leaving the sword stabbed on Ian.
