《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》The Baseball Game

The next morning, the sun came gleaming into my room through the crack in the curtain. I could feel it piercing through my eyelids. I groaned grabbing my blanket and pulled it over my head. Rolling to my side, only to feel a hard stone cold body next to mine.

"Good morning, Gorgeous." Emmett chuckled.

"Morning." I grumbled without opening my eyes. I moved my head beneath my pillow. Trying to fall back asleep.

Wait, Emmett's still here? Today's Saturday... Charlie's home... I thought to myself, still not moving.

Until realization of what I just had thought about hit me. I nearly jumped and flew off the edge of the bed toward's the ground. Emmett reacted quickly and grabbed me. Pulling me back onto the bed.

"Oh, god. Dad's home today! He usually comes in every morning and peek's through the door! How are we both not dead right now?! Well, me more so than you..." I rambled off quickly. Trying to scramble out of his grasp.

Emmett put both of his hand's on my cheeks and kissed me to shut me up. He pulled away and smiled.

"Don't worry, Vampire remember? I got out of the bed and hid when he came up the stairs. He didn't see or suspect anything. Calm down."

"Right, right... Make's sense... Okay..." I yawned and stretched my arm's before looking back at him. My eyes widened and I put my hand's over my mouth. "Morning breath! How freaking embarrassing!" I mumbled under my hand's. I scurried out of the bed and rushed out into the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I was done I walked back into my room to see Emmett laying across my bed with his hands crossed behind his head.

"You're really cute when you're flustered you know that." He laughed loudly.

I jumped onto the bed and cover his mouth with my hand's. At this point, I had straddled his hip's with my legs on either side of him. I blushed at our predicament but stayed put none the less.

"All right, Ms. Spastic. It's fine. It's only Bella that's here. Charlie went to the store." Emmett laughed after removing my hand's. I sighed and climbed off of him. "Apparently I'll have to get you flustered more often, so I can get you into that position again." He smirked at me.

"Oh.My.God." I blushed as red as a tomato. "Okay, you really have to go now. I-I need to get dressed." I hopped off my bed and walked to my closet and began to try and find some clothes for the day.

"Fine, even though I'd like to stay for that..." He winked and I rolled my eye's playfully. Turning away to hide my even more apparent blush. "... I can't. Make sure you dress appropriately though. I'm taking you out later to play baseball." He stated as he climbed off my bed.

"Me? Baseball?" I scoffed, turning to face him. "That doesn't really sound like such a good idea."

"Just do it." He rolled his eyes and placed a kiss on my temple. "I'll be back at 1pm to get you."

"Okay, fine. Not really like I have a choice. You'd probably just drag me there." I teased.

"You are right. I would." He got closer to the window, but before he left he turned around and grinned at me. "Oh, you know you talk in your sleep right?"

"What?! I do not!" I squeaked. "What did I say??"

"Eh, nothing bad." He smirked and put a leg out the window. "Just that you love me."

My eyes widened and he jumped out the window and down to the ground gracefully. I ran over to my window and look out and down at him.

"I love you too." He said and winked. In a blink of an eye he was gone. Running straight for the forest. I could feel my cheek's heat up again and I returned to putting my clothing on.

I made my way downstairs and into the kitchen. I grabbed a bowl and the box of Frosted Flakes from the top of the fridge.

Making myself comfortable at the table and I made myself my breakfast and sat down to eat.

"Hey, (Y/n). Morning." Bella laughed as she walked into the kitchen. "How was your night?" She wiggled her eyebrows at me.

"Morning, Bella. It was good actually. Apparently, you had a goodnight to I suppose. You're more cheery." I pointed my spoon at her with a raised brow.

"Eh..." She shrugged trying to control her smile. She turned to look at me and the second her brown eyes landed on my (Y/E/C) ones she squealed happily. "Edward kissed me for the first time last night."

"Oh, Bells! That's great! I'm so happy for you." I exclaimed. She walked back over from grabbing a bowl, giving me a side hug before taking the cereal box. "So did he stay all night?" I questioned her.

"Yeah. I see Emmett did too." She snorted as she poured her milk. "Walked in your room this morning to check on you. Only to see you sprawled out across the bed, drooling, hair in your face. It was really attractive. Poor Emmett, laying next to you, quietly watching tv."

"Oh, god, please tell me you're kidding..." I hung my head in my hands.

"Nope." She popped the 'P' loudly. "Actually it was really cute... He was looking at you all lovingly, hardly paying any attention to the tv. Said you were the angel in his world of hell. So it didn't matter how you looked."

"Stop... did he really?" I asked and she nodded taking a bite of her cereal. "Damn him for being so cute..." I mumbled eating some more of my cereal. "Apparently I talk in my sleep too..."

"Really? I had no idea?" She remarked sarcastically.

"Hey, I'm the sarcastic one here! But no seriously... Apparently I told him I loved him in my sleep."

Bella nearly choked on her cereal. She quickly managed to fix herself before she grinned widely at me.

"Do you? Ya, know. Love him?" Bella asked curiously.

"Yeah..." I whispered quietly not able to contain my smile. "He said it back as he hopped out of my window."

We both laughed at that sentence.

Later on that day, Dad was cleaning his gun at the table. It was almost 1 o' clock and Bella had yet to tell him about Edward. Or the fact that they were going on a date today. I guess he had told her about playing baseball last night too.

"Just bring him a beer and ease him into it." I suggested as we whispered in the living room watching Charlie from afar.

"He likes Emmett though... what if he doesn't like Edward?" Bella whispered back nervously.

"As long as he doesn't give him a reason not to... Dad will like him. He's Dad. He doesn't have a hateful bone in his body."

"Fine... I'll tell him.... Are you sure you can't just say you're taking me with you?" She looked at me with her big brown eyes.

"No, Bells." I chuckled. "What are you going to do wait until after you're married to tell him you're in a relationship?"

"If I could, I would..." She mumbled.

I watched as she walked to the fridge and grabbed him a new beer can.

"Hey, got you another one." Bella placed the beer in front of him.

"Thanks." He said as he put the cloth and rod down the barrel of the gun to clean it. She stood there awkwardly for a minute. Then glanced at me. I gave her a sign to just rip it off like a bandaid.

"I have a date with Edward Cullen." She blurted out from next to him. I face palmed. Dad stopped what he was doing and looked at her before continuing with the gun again.

"He's a little old for ya? Isn't he?"He said in his gruff voice.

"No, uhm... He's a junior. I'm a junior." Bella looked at me before continuing. "I thought you liked the Cullen's? You like Emmett." She pointed out.

"Yeah, I do like Emmett. Him, I've met on several occasions." He grumbled quietly. "Besides, I thought you didn't like any of the boys in town." Dad grabbed his beer and chugged the last of it. I couldn't help but chuckle quietly.

Dear ol' dad cant handle the fact that both his girls are growing up.

"Edward doesn't live in town," Bella remarked. Dad turned his head and gave her a 'seriously?' Look. "Technically..." She trailed off.

The Grey Jeep rumbled into our driveway. Bella and I both took notice.

"He's actually right outside." Bella told him nervously.

"He is?" Dad raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, he wanted to meet you, officially." She said trying to sway him. Dad sighed loudly.

"Alright." He snapped his gun back together in an intimidating way. "Bring him in."

Bella and I both jumped slightly.

"Hey, could you be nice? He's... he's important." Bella told him. Dad gestured around his head. Saying that he is nice.

We both ran to the door, knowing they were waiting to be let in. Bella opened it letting the guys walk into the house and Emmett came in first. He grabbed my hand and he led me straight into the kitchen, where my father was waiting. Dad stood to his feet.

"Hello, Sir." Emmett shook his hand and they grinned at each other.

"Charlie, Emmett, please. Sir, makes me feel, old." He chuckled lightly.

Emmett and I made way for Bella and Edward to walk over. Dad returned to his serious face and looked over Edward as they both walked towards him.

"Chief Swan, I want to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward Cullen." Edward and Dad shook hand's.

"Hi, Edward."

"The girl's wont be out to late tonight. They are just gonna play baseball with our family." Edward gave him a polite smile.

"Baseball?" He said with an amused expression.

"Yes, sir that's the plan." Edward nodded.

Dad started to chuckle to himself.

"(Y/n) ... Bella ... Are going to play baseball?" He scratched his chin. "Well, good luck with that." The amused smile never leaving his face.

"Thanks for the confidence, Dad." I said sarcastically.

"Don't worry, Charlie." Emmett took a step forward and put a hand on his shoulder. "We'll take good care of them, I promise." Dad nodded at him.

Emmett, Edward, Bella and I begin to walk out the door.

"Hey," He stopped Bella and I. "Still got that pepper spray?" He said quietly.

"Yeah, Dad." We both whispered back embarrassed, and walked out the door.

Since we were in Emmett's Jeep, he drove us, I rode shotgun, and Edward and Bella sat in the back. Emmett drove us to a clearing deep in the forest. The other's were all there already waiting for us. Bella and I both wore, long sleeves, comfortable jeans and sneakers. We brought along jackets to keep us warm and dry since it was supposed to be a storm.

"Since when do Vampires like baseball?" Bella asked, as Edward placed a ball cap on her head. We both pulled our hair back into ponytails in order to play or more like, watch them play.

"Well, it's the American pastime. And uh, there's a thunderstorm coming. It's the only time we can play." Edward said.

"Why do you have to wait for a thunderstorm?" I asked curiously.

"You'll see, babe." Emmett winked.

We walked over to the rest of the clan. Esme greets us happily as usual.

"I'm so glad you guys are here. We need an umpire and someone to watch the shots." She pulled us both along gently with a smile that is always gracing her face.

"She thinks we cheat." Henry said with a smirk.

"Oh, I know you cheat." Esme scolded him playfully. "(Y/n), you be umpire. Bella you watch them closely. Call them as you see them."

"Okay." We say in unison.

I stood at what seemed to be the batting plate they had made.

"That's the hottest umpire, I've ever seen!" Emmett wolf whistled at me from his corner of the field. I laughed and blushed.

Thunder rumbled and lightening crackled through the sky. Alice walked and took her position as the pitcher and she smirked happily.

"It's time."

Rosalie stepped up to bat first. Alice pitched the ball and with a loud crack at the same time as the thunder, Rosalie hit the ball.

"Okay, now I see why you need the thunder." I chuckled in awe.

The ball soared away from the field and through the wood's. Edward went running with his fantastic speed after the ball.

"That's got to be a home-run, right?" Bella asked amazed.

"Edward's very fast." Esme smirked as we watch.

Rosalie was speeding her way through the bases.

"Come on, Rosalie!" Carlisle cheered from behind us. He had a super proud fatherly grin on his face. The ball came hurdling back towards us. Esme caught the ball and tagged Rosalie's foot as she slid into the home base. Esme looked between Bella and I.

No way am I going against Rose, Bella can make this call.

"You're out." Bella scrunched up her nose and gave the sign for being out.

"Out! Woo!" Emmett cheered happily doing some kind of happy dance in the outfield. Rosalie glared at him them back at Bella. Walking by her and brushing her shoulder with Bella's.

"Babe, come on. It's just a game." Henry laughed from the other side of the field.

Next up, Carlisle. He pointed his bat and got ready to set up his swing. Alice pitched the ball and with another crack the ball went sailing toward's the middle and right field where Emmett and Edward were. Both guy's used their speed to go after the ball, jumping into the air to catch it. But instead of catching the ball their bodies collided into each other and they fell back to the ground. They both began laughing and Edward flipped Emmett off. They started playfully shoving each other and Carlisle slid home safely.

Jasper stepped up to bat and Alice pitched the ball. It cracked loudly echoing through the open field. Jasper booked it around the bases. The baseball went toward's middle field, and Emmett ran. Managing to monkey climb his way up a tree, catching the ball. He quickly threw it back, outing Jasper in the process.

"Woo! Yes! Go baby!" I shouted excitedly at the site. He winked in my direction with an ear to ear grin on his face.

Bella laughed and my face went bright red.

Rosalie got up to bat again, this time when she swung the bat it sent a full blast of wind back towards us which was super amazing to witness. She quickly ran around the bases.

Suddenly, Alice froze, with her eyes glossing over. After a moment it appeared as though she regained consciousness.

"Stop!" She shouted worriedly.

Every family member froze in their place. I could see Edward look out towards the tree line and then he rushed back to Bella. Emmett rushed over to me and the whole family gathered quickly around us.

"They were leaving. Then they heard us." Alice said worriedly glancing in mine and Bella's direction.

We had no idea what was going on, but something had this entire family of vampire's spooked. So that led us to be too.

"Let's go." Edward said wrapping an arm around Bella about to pull her away.

"It's too late." Carlisle stopped him.

I stood in Emmett's arm's, my hand's up on his chest. He looked down at me with a worried expression. Quickly, he pulled the hair tie from my (Y/H/C) lock's. Fluffing my hair around my shoulders. He placed his baseball cap on my head and he squeezed my arm's gently. I could hear Rosalie make a remark towards Edward and Bella since he had her doing the same thing.

"Like that'll help. I could smell her from across the field." Rosalie scoffed.

"Stay close to me." Emmett whispered stroking my cheek.

I nodded and smiled weakly at him. Can't say I'm not terrified.

Everyone lined up. Carlisle stood in the center, Esme to his right, Alice and Jasper beside her. Rosalie and Henry on Carlisle's left side. With Edward and Emmett beside them. Edward, tucked Bella somewhat behind him so she was only slightly visible. He had to make it seem not as suspicious. I stood in Emmett's arm's tucked slightly between him and Henry, in the same way so it's not suspicious.

Out of the fog that had gathered around the base of the trees, emerged three figures. One dark skinned male with dread locks, Another male, pale with blonde hair, then beside him a pale female with bright red hair. The dark skinned man held up our baseball and spoke.

"I believe this belongs to you." He tossed it into Carlisle's hand.

"Thank you." Carlisle said plainly, but with a smile as not to be rude.

"I am Laurent." The man smiled softly. "This is Victoria," He gestures to the woman, "and James." He gestures to the blonde man.

James eyed the family. His gaze lingering on myself and my sister curiously for a minute.

"I'm Carlisle. This is my family." He gestured, looking around to us all.

Under any other circumstance I'd be flattered he thinks of us as his family but now's not a great time. I can feel a sudden wash of calm flow through me, making my erratic heart beat quickly slow down. I can see from the corner of my eye Jasper glancing at me the same way. I silently thanked him. Emmett's grip tightened around my waist and when I look back, I could see James peering at me once more.

"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us." Carlisle told the intruding group.

"Our apologies." Laurent nodded. "We didn't realize the territory had been claimed."

"Yes, well. We maintain a permanent residence nearby." Carlisle said.

James again has a peaked interest looking between Edward and Bella and Emmett and myself. I could tell Edward was stiff and cautious. He must have been reading his mind.

"Well, we won't be a problem anymore. We were just passing through." Laurent assured Carlisle. His creepy deep crimson red eyes glazed over us all.

"The humans were tracking us, but we led them east." The woman named Victoria spoke proudly. "You should be safe." She whispered with a smirk.

"Excellent." Carlisle smiled politely once again.

The tension in the air was thick and filled with silence until Laurent opened his mouth once again.

"So, could you use three more players?" He smiled. No one moved or answered. "Oh, come on. Just one game?"

Carlisle sighed and looked at him with a bright smile, seemingly picking up an idea.

"Sure, why not? A few of us were leaving. You can take their place. We'll bat first." He tossed the ball quickly back towards Laurent only, Victoria caught it and grinned widely.

"I'm the one with the wicked curve ball."

"Well, I think we can handle that." Jasper piped up with grin.

Emmett swiftly grabbed my hand and we began to walk back to the Jeep. Bella and Edward, right beside us. Emmett nor Edward's eyes fully leaving James's gaze that he held on us. The wind blew down from the mountain's right towards us. I could feel my hair blow softly in the breeze. Emmett's light grasp on my wrist tightened and we both visibly stiffened. I heard a loud inhale from behind us. I glanced back to see James had his nose in the air.

"Ah..." He exhaled deeply. Facing us completely once again. A devilish smirk came across his face. "You brought snacks." James lunged forward towards us.

Emmett pushed me behind him and took a protective stance in front of me. I glance over to see if my sister was fine and Edward had done the same thing. The three boy's started growling and snarling loudly at each other. I felt two hand's grab my arm's from behind me. I gasped in fright and looked only to see it was Rosalie. Henry stood protectively in front of me, behind Emmett. Carlisle and Esme doing the same for Bella. Jasper and Alice both stood in front and center, behind Emmett and Edward.
