Sam questioned as he skipped down the stairs from the house. "How could nobody bring him up?"

The three of us walked down the street, all of us in a sort of bad mood now.

"He was like Steve, and they just locked him up, let him be treated like a test subject." I said, sort of quickly but mainly talking to myself.

"I asked you a question Bucky." Sam continued, either not hearing me or deciding to not say anything.

"I know."

"Did Steve know?" I asked, my eyes still wide, my eyebrows furrowed and my tone stern and strict.

"He didn't. I didn't tell him."

"So, you're telling me that there was a black super soldier decades ago and nobody knew about it?" Sam queried, stopping in the street as did Bucky and then so did I.

My attention was pulled away from the heated conversation at the sound of police sirens. A cop car pulled up, two officers getting out of it.

"Hey." One of them said as they approached us.

"What's up man?" Sam asked.

"Is there a problem here?" The officer asked.

"No, we're just talking."

"We're fine." Bucky tried to reassure the cops as they continued over to us.

"Can I see your ID?" A cop asked Sam, but only Sam, not me or Bucky.

"I don't have ID. Why?"

"Come on. We were just talking." I said but got shushed by the other cop.

"Okay, sir, just calm down."

"I am calm. What do you want? We're just standing here talking."

"Just give him your ID so we can leave." Bucky said to Sam.

"No. I'm not giving him shit. We're just talking." Sam argued.

"Is he bothering you?" The officer asked me and Bucky.

"No, he's not bothering me." Bucky answered.

The officer then looked at me, "is he bothering you, ma'am?"

I shook my head as I screwed my face, "no, he's not. We were just having a conversation."

"Do you know who this is?" Bucky questioned the cops.

One officer then whispered to other, obviously getting him to change his approach very quickly once he realised Sam was apart of the Avengers.

"Oh, God. I am so sorry Mr Wilson." The cop's eyes almost popped out of his head as realisation hit him. "I didn't recognise you without the goggles. I'm really, really sorry about this."

Another cop car pulled up the other side of us.

"Guys, just wait here, okay? Just..." the two cops went back to their car for a moment.

"I didn't...I didn't tell anyone because he had already been through enough." Bucky said quieter so that the crowd that had formed wouldnt hear.

"Mr Barnes." The officer said as he came back over to us. "There's a warrant out for your arrest."

I screwed my brows just as Sam spoke. "Look, the president pardoned him for all that."

"Not for that. You missed your court-mandated therapy. It's like missing a check-in with your PO. I'm sorry Mr Barnes, you're under arrest."

"Bucky.." I said to him as he followed the officer.

He just looked back at me and gave me a small, not so reassuring nod as the cops placed handcuffs on him and guided him into the car.

"What the fuck are we gonna do, Sam?" I spoke up once the cops had left. "There's a Super Solider that no one knew about, a new Captain America, a group of Super Soldiers running around and Bucky's gotten himself arrested."

"I don't know." Sam shook his head as he began to walk off with me walking by his side. "But we can figure it out."

Sam and I sat in the police station, waiting for Bucky's therapist to arrive and for Bucky to get out. I couldn't stop thinking about the Super Soldiers. Where did they get the serum?

"Sam, Eris. I've heard a lot about you two. I'm Dr. Raynor. I'm James' therapist."

The two of us stood, each shaking Dr Raynor's hand.

"So nice to meet you. Thank you for getting him out." Sam greeted her.

"That was not me." She responded, dropping her hand from mine as I titled my head and squinted my eyes in curiosity.

"Christina!" A voice called, making the three of us turn to see John Walker enter the station. "It's great to see you again."

"You've got to be fucking with me." I muttered under my breath, turning my head to look away from him. "You know that guy?" I asked Dr Raynor.

"Yeah, we did some field ops back in the day."

"I heard you were working with Bucky, so I thought I'd step in." John said as he walked over to us. "Bucky's not gonna be following a strict schedule any longer."

"We haven't finished our work. Who authorised this?"

John gestured his hands to himself, which made me roll my eyes which I've found myself doing a lot lately. I only used to do it when Thor and Loki would bicker, but now it's this guy making me roll my eyes.

"He's too valuable of an asset to have tide up." John Walker stated. "Just do whatever you got to do with him, then send him off to me."

"You say that like he's gonna want to talk to you. And, even if he does, it's not gonna be a nice conversation over a coffee." I rudely remarked, giving John a certain look.

"Got some unfinished business, him and I. You too, Wilson." He began walking off, just as I sighed. "And you, Odindottir!" He added, making me huff. "I'll be outside."

"James." Dr Raynor turned to Bucky who had now joined us by the front desk. "Condition of your release, session now. You too, Sam."

"No, that's okay. I'll be out here with..."

"That wasn't a request." She called back to him and the three of them went off into another room.

Whilst Sam and Bucky were in their session together with Dr Raynor, I had decided to wait outside the station. I had gotten changed on the plane earlier, so I was wearing a white long-sleeved top with lilac silk trousers that were loose at my ankles and some white sneakers. I leant myself against a wall outside, resting my head back on it and closing my eyes.

"Eris, we should talk." A voice disrupted me after about 20 minutes and I opened my eyes, once again seeing John Walker but this time he was with Lemar Hoskins.

"You can't take no for answer, can you?" I asked rhetorically. "Look, I can respect someone who doesn't give up and stuff but I'm never gonna work for you."

"Well, I think that's a mistake and you'll regret that decision." John said back, making me push myself off the wall and stand up straight with my arms crossed over my chest as I walked over to the cop car they stood by.

"Is that a threat?"

"No, no. That's not what I meant. But, Eris, this is- we're trying to do some good, okay? And the Avengers, they're done. This is the start of a new era of superhero's, and I want you to be by my side during that."

I shook my head, about to speak but couldn't when Bucky's voice spoke first. "Eris." He said, in his deep, stern tone.

"Gentlemen!" John greeted, facing them. "Good to see you again. Look, if we divide ourselves, we don't stand a chance, you guys know that." He started, Bucky and Sam standing by me.

Bucky placed a hand on the car, his body standing very close to mine that my back was nearly resting on his arm.

"So what do you got?" Sam asked John.

"Well, the leader's name's Karli Morgenthau. We've been targeting civilians who've been helping Karli move from place to place." He explained.

"They geotagged a location, then scrambled the signal." Lemar said, resting on the car with his arms crossed. "But our satellites have found their symbol popping up in various displaced communities all across Central and Eastern Europe."

"We think she's taking the medicine she just stole to one of the these camps."

"Well, there are hundreds of those all over the planet since the blip. So I guess you'll have to look real hard." Bucky spoke up from behind me.

"Good thing I have 20/20 vision, huh?" John retorted, making my eyes roll back again. I swear, if this guy doesn't stop they're gonna be stuck in my head.

"Where is she now, Walker? Do you know?"

"No, we don't know, Bucky." John raised his voice, clearly getting fed up with Bucky's comments. "It's only a matter of time before we find out."

"Things are really intense for you, aren't they, Walker?" Bucky spoke in an intense, deeper tone.

"Take it easy. Look, Walker's right." Sam stepped in. "It is imperative that we find and stop them. But you guys have rules of engagement and all kinds of authorisations you have to get. We're free agents." He said to John and Lemar. "We're more flexible. So it wouldn't make sense for us to work with you."

Bucky then placed his hand that was on the car onto my shoulder, suggesting that we start leaving. I turned with him, and Sam, the three of us walking away from John and Lemar.

"A word of advice, then," John said, making us stop and face them again, "stay the hell out of my way."

"Well he's a tough guy, huh." I sarcastically commented once he'd left. "Jackass."

"So, what you thinking?"

"Well, I know what we have to do." Bucky responded as we continued to walk down the street. "When Isaiah said 'my people'..."

"Bucky, don't take that too deep. That's not what he meant." I tried to reassure him.

"No, he meant HYDRA. HYDRA used to be my people."

Sam scoffed. "Not a chance."

"Walker doesn't have any leads." Bucky said.

"I know where you're going with this, no."

"He knows all of HYRDA's secrets. Don't you remember Siberia?"

"So you just gonna go sit in a room with this guy?"

Bucky hesitated."Y-yes."

"Is that a good idea?" I queried, slightly concerned but not overly.

"Probably not." Bucky responded, dragging out the 'p' slightly.

"Okay, then" Sam gave in. "We're gonna go see Zemo."
