《What happens in Vegas》5| Danger

I woke up the next morning, my head pounding, my throat dry, my body aching, just overall a mess. "Oh, shit," I mumbled, pushing myself up into a sitting position. I grabbed the water bottle quickly and chugged it, hoping to ease the ache and burn in my throat and also maybe reduce the nausea.
I sat there for a while, trying to remember what happened last night but I couldn't remember much after Noah saved me from getting run over. I looked around the room. Everything seemed fine and in place, as neat as it could be. My phone was plugged in on charge for me, the key card was put on the nightstand, the other one probably put into the holder by the entrance, and the balcony door had been locked.
I don't remember doing that, so I assumed housekeeping locked it. My phone beeped with a text.
Ava- Dining hall in twenty, I need to tell you guys something.
I sighed and ran my fingers through my tangled hair before forcing myself out and into the bathroom. I took a quick shower and then got dressed for the day wearing boyfriend jeans with a light yellow crop top, throwing on a white bralette underneath with some sneakers.
I left my hair down for the day and then grabbed my purse, phone, and key-card and then headed downstairs. When I got to the dining hall and grabbed my food, Ava and Charlotte were already sitting there and Ava seemed nervous, to say the least. "Hey," I said, sitting in front of them since they were sitting on the sofa together so I took the chairs opposite to that. "What's going on?" I asked.
"Okay," she sighed, "Bella, you asked me yesterday about what happened in junior year at the bar, do you remember that?" I nodded in response.
"What happened?" Charlotte questioned.
She closed her eyes and winced, running her hand over her face, "I slept with Lucas," she mumbled.
"You what?!" we asked in sync, getting weird looks from the family to our left.
"Say it louder, won't you?" she groaned, "I slept with him. We were both drunk and- god, it was just a huge mess and um-"
"What?" Charlotte asked.
"I was a virgin," she huffed.

"He's the one you- oh my god," Charlotte sighed, facepalming.
"He was your first, Ava?" I asked and she nodded in response. "Well then, what happened?"
She shrugged, "Nothing. There was nothing going on between us, we didn't even talk to each other before that and he took the rivalry so seriously, and I was mad because he didn't stop me from sleeping with him, but to be fair, he didn't know I was a virgin."
"You didn't tell him?!" I gaped at her while she guiltily shook her head.
"So, we just never talked to each other again. But then last night," she cried, leaning her head back and staring at the ceiling.
"Last night what, Ava?" Charlotte asked.
Ava covered her face with her hands, shaking her head, "I can't say it." It's pretty obvious what happened.
"You slept with him again, didn't you?"
She looked at me, "How do you know that?"
"Oh, my god, she did it again," Charlotte said, smacking her palms onto the table.
"It's obvious," I rolled my eyes, "And I was there when you came out of the bathroom with him at the bar, remember?"
"Yeah, you were sitting there with Noah," she mumbled.
"And then you left abruptly and barely five minutes after that he left too."
"Then what happened?" Charlotte asked me.
"Then Noah told me that they're- oh god, oh no," I mumbled.
"What?" Ava asked.
"Did you take Lucas to your room?"
She nodded, "How would we go to his? It's not like they're staying here," she scoffed.
"Um actually, Ava. They are."
"What?" she asked, standing up.
"Sit back down," Charlotte hissed, pulling her back down.
"They're staying here. In fact, Noah's room is next to mine. And um- I'm pretty sure he took me to my room last night."
"Took you to your room?" Charlotte narrowed her eyes at me.
"Nothing happened. I was just really drunk so I think he tucked me in."
"How do you know he didn't try anything?" Ava questioned.
"That's a little offensive." We all looked up and saw all three of them sitting down on the table beside ours, pushing it up with ours, joining the two.

"Can we leave?" Ava asked, not even bothering to dial down her volume.
"Ouch," Lucas mumbled. She glared at him, he glared at her, and then they both just ate in silence.
"Hey," Charlotte nodded at Oliver.
"Hey," he smiled back. We all fell into an awkward silence which was mainly being fueled by the tension between Lucas and Ava. Maybe we should give them a minute to talk.
I looked to my right when Noah pulled out the chair to sit down. I quickly put my purse down and he sighed, looking at me. "Sorry, stranger danger," I shrugged.
"Do all strangers tuck you in bed?" he smirked. I rolled my eyes before picking up my purse, giving him the seat. He sat down and then we all continued eating in silence. "Wow, okay. Talk about cutting the tension with a knife," Noah mumbled, "Where are you guys going today?" he asked.
Ava and Charlotte looked at me. "I had two options. Las Vegas Strip, which is probably more fun at night, or we could check out New York-New York and the Big Apple roller coaster. The choice is yours," I shrugged.
"Roller coaster," Noah nodded.
"Who the hell invited you?" Ava asked, narrowing her eyes at Noah.
"She did, last night," he said, jabbing his thumb in my direction.
"What?" I scoffed.
"Yeah, don't you remember? You asked me if I would come with you tomorrow while I was taking your heels off. You're welcome, by the way. Call today your thank you. We'll come with you guys," he shrugged.
"I did not invite you!" I exclaimed, putting my fork down and turning to face him. I don't remember doing that. To be fair, I don't even remember him taking my heels off but they were off when I woke up so he's clearly not lying.
"Yes, you did," he chuckled.
"Did not."
"Did too."
I glared at him and he simply smirked back. I leaned back, "I don't remember it," I huffed.
"Doesn't mean you didn't do it," he sang.
"You guys are not coming with us," Ava said.

We stood there, staring up at the roller coaster, squinting under the sun. I stopped squinting when a hand reached out, blocking the sun for me. "Is that better for you?"
I looked to my right, glaring at Noah. Yes, they came with us. "Maybe I like being blinded by the sun," I shrugged.
"Well, I don't want you losing your sight, babe," he laughed. I looked at the roller coaster, throwing my hair up in a bun so it wouldn't whip me in the face when we got on.
"You talk about stranger danger, that," Oliver said while standing beside me, "Is danger."
"Why? You scared?" Charlotte teased him.
"Not at all," he looked down at her.
"Prove it," she sassed him before grabbing my hand and pulling me to the queue.
"Where's Ava?" I asked.
"Back there dying to kiss Lucas but not doing it because she thinks we're watching her," Charlotte answered while tying her hair up as well.
"You wouldn't know that if you weren't watching her," I chuckled.
"She likes him, doesn't she?"
I nodded, "I think so. I don't get why they act like they hate each other though," I mumbled. She shrugged in response and we stood there in line when the others joined us.
"Mind if I steal her?" Noah asked, already grabbing my wrist.
"Don't let him take me, Charlotte," I said loud and clear. But he was already pulling me away. Oliver took my spot beside Charlotte and Noah even pushed Lucas and Ava in front of us until we were last in the whole damn line. "It was almost our turn!" I smacked him, whining at how much longer we were going to have to wait.
I watched as everyone got on, the final seats being taken by the people in front of us. "Was this part of your plan, genius?" I huffed, glaring at him. I looked forward when the gate opened and the people from the very front stepped off with a girl looking extremely nauseous.
I moved out of the way as she and, I'm assuming her boyfriend, walked past us.
"The front is up for grabs! You two, come on!" the guy called out, pointing at Noah and me.
I glanced at him. "Actually, it was," he smirked before grabbing my hand and pulling me up to the seats. We climbed in, I left my purse with Charlotte and Ava's which I spotted beside the employee. "I figured you'd want the front seats, you're welcome," he winked.
