Silver's POV
Stepping into the hospital holding onto Aiddan I look around. For the first time in a while I realized how much sorrow a hospital can bring. But I also saw how much happiness it brought. Families were together, new life was born, and even if someone was dying at least you can hope that the family got closer than ever because of the tragedy of death.
There was so much to appreciate in hospitals even with all the things people despise. I know not everyone likes their doctors or the nurses and staff members but think about their jobs. They witness person, after person, after person die. Or get better. There was no middle ground for them. They were either savior or reaper.
Gently shifting Aiddan to a more comfortable position I head towards the receptionist table with Ethan tagging along. Checking in we head to the Chemo Treatment Center within the hospital and wait for our doctor.
"Mommy. Can I go play?" Aiddan asked, poking my cheek in annoyance.
"Of course baby." I smile down at him as I set him carefully on his feet.
Ethan laughed as he watched his son run to the little toy section of the waiting room. "You do realize he called your name at least five times?"
"I know. He only pokes my cheek like that when I'm lost in thought." I laugh in contentment as I watch Aiddan playing with cars...
"What are you thinking about?" He asked, concern written all over his face.
"Aiddan. Us. Our future. Pretty much a little bit of everything." I said offhandedly knowing I was probably sounding like a worried old woman.
"Il mio amore (my love), don't worry." Ethan whispered, grabbing my waist and laying his chin on top of my head. "Mi prenderò cura di te (I'll take care of you)."

"Lo so (I know)." I whisper back, closing my eyes and hugging him. "Lo so."
Ethan's POV
Taking Silver into my arms I easily pick her up despite her protests and carry her to a seat in the waiting room. Sitting down with her in my lap I watch as she lays there in contentment. Looking up to check on Aiddan I start to freak out.
There was a man standing by Aiddan holding his hand.
"Silver. Do you know who that is by Aiddan?" I demanded in worry, causing her to fall off my lap as she turned to look.
She stood up putting a hand against her chest. "It's just Ashton. My brother."
Oh. I vaguely remember him being there when Silver first found out about Aiddan having Cancer. Thank all that is holy that it's only him. Not some creepy pedophile.
Aiddan ran back to us with him in tow. "Uncle Ash is here!"
"I see that honey." Silver smiled, patting him on the head before hugging her brother. "I'm glad you made it."
"I'm glad I'm here." He replied before looking at me. "What is he doing here?"
"This is Aiddan's father." Silver supplied an answer looking down in what seemed like shame?
"Oh really?" Ashton glared at me. Clearly angered but I don't know why. "You better not hurt my nephew or my sister. Or I will personally make your life hell. No. I will not kill you, but I will make sure you lose everything you care about."
Frowning I started to reply but then he smiled at me. "Now that the threats are done, welcome to our little family unofficially."
Grinning back I said, "Thanks man, I appreciate it."
"Aiddan McMalory?" The doctor called from a door a few feet away.
"Coming." He shouted as he grabbed Silver and I's hand before dragging us towards him.

8 1080Apocalypse Redux (a LitRPG Apocalypse)
It wasn't climate change that killed us. Nor was it the blue boxes that suddenly appeared in front of us one day. No, it was what we did with said boxes. All it took was a little nudging from the wrong dark deity and the world spiraled into the abyss. Twelve years later, only a mere handful of humans remain, fighting against an endless horde, fully aware of the futility of their actions. A demon lord gets torn to shreds by the last of humanity, determined to go out in a blaze of glory. In the end, only Isaac Thoma remains to reap the reward for this victory. Another chance. A new go at things from that fateful day the world became quantified.
8 1214Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
