Silver's POV
"As you know this is an overnight chemo session. But I would like to inform you that your son is making remarkable progress in getting rid of his cancer. I don't know if it's the fact that we saw it in time or maybe it's because his body is fighting it exceptionally for such a young boy. Or it could be a mixture of the two. But I can say Aiddan is by far my favorite case. I think by the time six months pass by he will be free of cancer." The doctor said as he looked through a bunch of papers that he had on a table next to the hospital bed. "Any questions?"
"Yeah. Is he going to be on chemo all night?" I asked as I smiled down at Aiddan's form as he and Ashton played with cars.
"No. We want to keep him overnight just in case. Since this is only his second treatment and he's so you don't we just need to make sure that he doesn't experience any bad reactions to the chemo." he explained as he waved a nurse in.
"Okay. Thank you." I replied as I picked up my son.
Putting Aiddan I put him on the bed. Kneeling down so I could be eye level I said, "The nice doctor and nurse are going to start your treatment now. Is that okay with you?"
"Yeah." he whispered shyly as he grabbed my hand. "Daddy?"
"Yes, little man?" Ethan inquired as he stepped behind me silently.
"I want your hand too." he stated with puppy dog eyes.
Ethan went to the other side of the bed and grabbed ahold of his hand. It was so adorable. My heart hurt a little as I thought about how much I had made Ethan miss out in Aiddan's life. But hopefully I can make up for that in the future. Grabbing my phone I sneak a quick picture of them.

After that the nurse started to numb Aiddan's arm I had to look away. I knew what was to happen next. She would inject him with the anticancer drug and then it would be over. But I just couldn't stand watching that needle pierce my son's skin. Maybe it was the protective side of me but it was probably the needle phobia side. I couldn't stand needles. It's not the pain that bothers me. It's the fact that something is going through all layers of skin just to inject something inside your body.
"Okay. All done." the nurse stated as she threw away the syringe and needle in the biohazard box. "You are one brave boy, Aiddan."
"Thank you miss." he smiled cheekily up at the lady.
As the nurse left I heard her chuckle under her breath. That's my son. A little ladies man.
"Mommy? Can we watch a movie?" Aiddan asked, tugging on my hand.
"Yeah. Let me get my laptop and the movies." I say as I grab the book bag I had set up for today. Getting out the laptop I also hold up a few movies. I ask, "What movie do you want?"
"Hmm." he frowned in concentration before nodding in satisfaction at his decision. "Lion King. "
"Good choice." I grin over at him as I put it in. Laying on the bed with him I start the movie.
I didn't realize how much time had passed until Ashton shook my shoulder to get my attention. "Hey, sorella (sister). I'm going to head home. I have work in the morning."
"Mkay. Bye Ash." I smile as I look down to see a sleeping Aiddan. And next to him was Ethan. Who was also sleeping. Uncomfortably though.
"Ethan." I say trying to wake him up.
"Hmm?" he mumbled slowly, raising his head up.
"You can get in the bed to silly." I laugh quietly as I move Aiddan closer so he has some room.
"Okay." he says, laying next to us while he brings his arms around us. "Goodnight. "
"Goodnight. " I whisper before falling into an Abyss of sleep.

Heroes aren’t to be trusted. They aren’t to be revered, or to be praised. They are to be feared, no matter the good they do, or the justice they seem to embody. Because it’s all a lie, a fabrication to make you believe that Heroes exist. Heroes don’t exist, only humans. And there is no scarier monster than a human with a ‘link’. Yet, what happens when someone tries to be a hero? A real, true hero—fighting to protect the world from those of their own who wantonly dominate and rule? Can a world, betrayed so thoroughly, ever truly want to be saved? This is a Superhero Fantasy story, set in a world that fears those called Linked. This story is also reminiscent of others in the genre like Worm by Wildblow.

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.
