Silver's POV

It's been a week since Ethan had asked me out and to be honest it's been amazing. He's been so sweet to Aiddan and me. He really is a great father. Aiddan loves him. Although he was a little tense at the idea of sharing with me. It was cute though.

This week has passed by fast and it's been great. But as it was with most things in life, with something good comes something bad. Aiddan had to go to the hospital for another chemo treatment. The doctors say even though it is only his second treatment he is showing a remarkable recovery for a child with lung cancer. To say I was surprised was an understatement. I can't believe how far my little boy has come in life so far. He's been through a lot for a three year old. But I know how strong he is too. And that gives me hope for his future. I know when the time comes that he leaves my house he will be a very capable young man. And I'm so proud of him already.

As I packed an overnight bag for Aiddan and me my phone rang. Grabbing it from the night table next to me I glance at the screen. Unknown Number. Hmm? Who could it be?

Curious, I unlocked my phone and read the message that was left. Shaking with fear I reread the message to make sure I had read it correctly the first time.

Unknown: Roses are red, Violets are blue. You'll soon be mine, and I'll make that come true.

Deleting the message I tried to convince myself that it was a mistake. That whoever sent it meant it for someone else. Putting the device in my pocket I grab the bag in a hurry. Turning around I go to walk out the bedroom door but I run into something firm.

Looking up in fear I quickly sigh in relief. It was Ethan. Thankfully.

Ethan's POV

Walking up to Silver I try to gain her attention. I had been calling her name for a few minutes but she seemed to be lost in thought. As she had turned around she ran into my chest and for a moment I swear I saw fear flash through her eyes. But as quickly as I saw it, it left.

"Why hello there." I chuckle pushing my confusion away.

"Hello." She answered with a slightly quivering voice.

"Are you ready to go?" I asked, grabbing her hand as I laid my forehead against hers.

Looking into my eyes she smiled and gently squeezed my hand. As if for reassurance. Then she whispered looking a tinge bit sad, "As ready as I'll ever be."

"Well let's go get our son and get this over with." I stated trying not to make my tone falter as I felt tears pierce my eyes.

I had to watch my son go through chemo. I didn't like the idea of chemicals being pumped into his body but I really hated the idea of him possibly dying. So I guess I'll just suck it up. For him. And Silver. Hopefully he won't have to go through this much longer. I made sure to get the best chemo doctors and cancer specialists that money could buy. They had reassured me that Aiddan should be fine within the next year, if not less.

I really hope they're not lying to me just to get the money I can give. But even if they are, I will make it my goal to make sure Aiddan lives. No matter what. I'd give away all my companies and every single dime I owned if it means he stays on his Earth, alive.

With Silver in my arms we walk to Aiddan's room. He was sleeping soundly so Silver gently picked him up. Heading to the car I couldn't help but feel as if my life were complete.

I had a son, and the most beautiful woman in the world by my side. I was truly a lucky man. Now...time to go to the hospital.
