《Path of Damnation》Day 18: Fort Ayan

DAY 18:

I sat on a broken down throne and stared at the insides of the room I was currently in.

It is, or was, a throne room.

Now though, its simply a ruin, which happened to have been used by Ogres.

I am almost certain this place was in better shape before the Ogres showed up.

Seeing as how they are simply retarded.

Nonetheless, shortening a long story, yesterday afternoon was event less.

After the ogres drove themselves away, we took residence in this fort.

Kaiser and I scoured the fort for any remaining threats and found nothing.

Well not exactly nothing, seeing as how we found gold and gems and not just a small amount either.

I am not sure how much Gold and Gems are worth in this world but with the amount I found I am almost certain I could buy nearly anything.

The thousands of kilos of gold and gems aside, I found a lot of weapons and armour, for Humans and Ogres.

The human armour most likely belonged to the previous residents while the ogre armour belonged to the ogres who just vacated for us.

That aside the forts interior was quite large.

There were several large bedrooms, which could easily house at least 20 people per room.

A huge kitchen, which if needed could also house people.

There were several large corridors, which once again, could be used to house more people.

There was also a cellar, which was full of nice exquisite wine. Magnificent stuff.

Although there was no tableware, forcing me to drink from the bottle.

A huge bath, which I assume once belonged personally to this keeps lord.

I doubt people could sleep there, but I guess it would be possible.

I have also come to the conclusion that the people of this world, the orcs, humans etc, all probably smell really bad.

I realized this because I discovered what I would assume, and I am using this word lightly, the toilet.

With several buckets full of human crap or maybe if I was unlucky, Ogre crap.

And I was unfazed by the smell.

Which means imagine how bad I smell.

That aside, it was essentially a damp room with several dozens of buckets and a slit in the wall which is where I assume the buckets full of crap were disposed from.

Anyways, the interior aside, the exterior contained a courtyard where the group remained while Kaiser and I scoured the fort.

It also contained two towers and a gate house.

One tower on each side of the gate house.

There was a stable outside as well as what I assume was once a smithy, along with a large building which was full of what I assume was once hay.

It looked like it was once a storage house. Once.

All in all, it was a heavily defensible, spacious and comfy fort.

Once repaired, it would be a good base.

Till then, it would serve as housing for the group.

I should really call them something aside from “the group”.

As I wrecked my mind for a suitable name for the group, Kaiser came into the crumbling hall room and waited patiently for me to finish thinking of a name.

Such a good companion.

Seeing as how I couldn’t think of a name, I ignored it for now and gestured for Kaiser to speak.

Kaiser: “My god, I was wondering if we were going to leave the women and children here?” he asked me to which I simply nodded. He then smiled like he was waiting for me to respond in such a manner “Then my god, it appears you have claimed this place in your name for them. What should we name this place? God’s Bastion? Fort of Greatness? Damnation Hold?...” Kaiser began mouthing of many names to me, some were quite interesting, while others were down right awful.

Then the little light in my head clicked and I realized what I would name the group.

MC: “That’s enough Kaiser” I said, silencing Kaiser who looked at me with Anticipation in his eyes “I have claimed this fortress in my name, I shall bestow upon it the name, Castle Ayan, thus making the group, from hence forth, Ayan’s” I nodded to myself with happiness.

Although it may be nothing but a lowly fort as of this moment, it shall soon be great castle.

With that thought in my head I nodded to myself.

How splendid.

I solved a problem which had been bothering me for a long while.

But it sounded good.

Ayans, huh.

I am Ayan.

Yes, Yes. It sounded great.

Kaiser nodded to me, before breaking out into a grin.

Kaiser: “I shall go inform the group that they are now no longer Thecillian, but Ayan and that this place Castle Ayan shall be their home” with that he turned around and left to go inform the group.

I watched as Kaiser left the hall before I leaned back into the throne.

Now what do I do, was the question that had been bothering me since I moved into this castle yesterday.

My goal was to survive and get revenge on the blasted hobbit and I accomplished that.

I over accomplished surviving, considering the fact that I have a Orc Horde which worships me, a almost invincible fort and a Kaiser.

A splendid Beautiful Kaiser.

The only Kaiser.

Anyways, I began to formulate what I would do with my life right now.

Would I stay in this fort and spend the rest of my days living in harmony and happiness here?

No I would not.

If it was me from when I was human before reincarnating into what I am now, I would have probably decided to spend the rest of my life here, in happy ignorant bliss.

But I cant do that, not as what I am currently.

I have somehow become immune to bloodshed, gore and what not.

I have changed, would be a simple way to put it.

I have changed a lot.

All I retain from my humanity is my intelligence and my memories.

And thanks to those memories I have a strict sense of morals.

But what if I didn’t have memories?

Would I have the morals that I currently uphold?

Most likely I wouldn’t. Or maybe I would.

I really don’t know.

As I began pondering about many deep things, I heard a very loud crash followed by a bellowing roar.

???: “PUNY HUMANS! THIS MY HOME! MY CAVE! MINE! LEAVE AND LET ME KILL YOU OR DIE!”

The loud roar, disrupted my thinking and put me in a somewhat angry mood.

Who dares interrupt me, the god of darkness as I discuss things with myself.

Oh great, I am now calling my self the god of darkness subconsciously.

I also realized that he called this fort a cave and he gave us two only slightly different options.

How stupid are these ogres?

I sighed before getting up and walking towards the battlements and not very surprisingly I met Kaiser on the way.

I told the group mem- I mean the Ayans, not to worry and that I would handle everything, so they should simply relax and ignore the idiot raging outside.

They nodded in relief and began to go back to whatever it was that they were doing.

I on the otherhand made my way with Kaiser to the battlements changing form from my Human form to my Tribal form and stared at the ogres who in turn stared back at us.

I saw Hubal standing to the right of a large black ogre whom I assume was the one who screamed very loudly.

His name was ‘Huy Yallim’ and he was a ‘Black Ogre Lord’.

Probably just a variant of the normal ogre lord, meaning he was stronger and faster, but apparently still as retarded.

Seeing me come to the wall Huy grinned his toothy smile and began to roar once more.

Huy Yallim: “HAHA, PUNY ORC AND GOBLIN, YOU SURRENDER AND I MAKE YOU MY PET, OR YOU-“ as he screamed, I cut him off and began to yell myself.

Ofcourse I was using my ‘Titans’ voice.

MC: “HOW DARE YOU, A PATHETIC OGRE, TALK TO ME THE GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD OF DARKNESS WITH SUCH DISRESPECT! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE HUY YALLIM TO SCREAM AT ME! TELL ME” as I screamed at him, my voice got deeper and deeper until I could visibly see the ogres shaking before me.

Huy was sweating incredibly, his broad and confident toothy grin, replaced with a face full of pure terror.

It was amusing to say the least.

I stared at each and every single ogre, one by one, deepening their fear of me.

It was quite a spectacle you know.

Several dozen ogres freezing up before who was weaker and smaller than a goblin.

At least I assume goblins were larger and stronger than me.

That aside, I turned my eyes back to Huy and then to Hubal and gestured to the ogres surrounding them.

MC: “Kill those two and rip their heads off and place it on your Halberds” the ogres looked confused at the words Halberds so I sighed “Spears, your giant Spears” and they nodded frantically.

Hubal and Huy Yallim, were completely frozen on the spot, neither able to move.

They let themselves have their heads removed.

It was a brutal sight and I am ashamed to say that I was amused with it.

The ogres mounted their heads onto their Halberds and asked me what to do with it, to which I simply told them to put it on either side of the gate.

They did so with quite a lot of vigor.

They looked back at me once they were done, clearly waited for another order.

I simply asked them where the closest settlement was, to which they replied in a confused voice, “Whats a settlement?”.

After telling them it was a village, town or anything human related they knew of or raided.

And they told me about the Human town of Ogre Stopping.

The name made me laugh, because apparently the Ogres raided their on a bi-weekly basis.

I told them to send someone to the village to tell them that the god of Damnation has conquered the ogres and that they will no longer bother you and then to give them directions to come here.

Explaining this to them was an arduous process but in the end I managed to do so.

Hooray for me.

When they asked me what they were to do afterwards, I told them to head to Horde of Damnation and give their full commitment to obeying Ghum’bil.

I told them with a grin on my face, that they were my gift to Ghum’bil for conquering the fortress.

I at least hope he did.

And even if he didn’t, an army of ogres should help him do so.

With that, I left the ogres to do what I told them and moved back to the throne room, turning into my human form on the way.

Kaiser went to check up on the grou- I mean the Ayans and I went to sit down on my throne.

As I sat down, I slowly let myself enter the dream realm, seeing as how I have been up since early in the morning.
