《Path of Damnation》Day 19: Boredom
Advertisement
I floated amongst the clouds, my body ethereal, my mind open.
I stared down at the world, I stared at the ever expansive continent.
I stared at the world which destroyed logic.
I stared at the planet which expanded far beyond my eyes reach.
I stared at the planet which dwarfed Earth.
I stared at my new homeworld.
As I contemplated all of this, I also began to think about the question ‘How did I end up here?’ but that question was quickly answered as I was shook awake by Kaiser.
I looked at his eyes, which had a tinge of worry in them before smiling at him which erased that tinge.
He nodded to me and returned the smile.
Kaiser: “A pleasant dream my god?” he asked me with curiosity in his voice.
MC: “Not so much a dream Kaiser” I replied but then I thought on those words “Actually, it may have been a dream, but then again, it may have not been one. Nonetheless, it does not matter” I replied brushing the topic away.
This wasn’t really something I wanted to discuss, because as far as I know, the world Kaiser has grown up in, is not that large.
Well it may as well be huge, but then again, no one has left this area and returned, or I am sure their would be stories amongst the orcs.
I wondered how the people in this area would react to the idea that their may be a huge world outside their land.
Pass the mountains and oceans which surround us in every direction.
I am sure it would make many very, very curios.
Actually now that I think about it, wasn’t their a massive cave on the other side of the Human Nation?
I am almost sure there was.
What is in or beyond that cavern?
Those maps that I looked at Marked that location as, what was it?
I cant remember, but whatever it was, it was an place one was not meant to go to.
I looked at Kaiser and realized that he wouldn’t just wake me up for now reason.
MC: “Whats wrong Kaiser?” I asked him, curious as to what would make him wake me up.
Kaiser: “My god, humans from the town of ‘Ogres Stopping’ have come. I wanted to know what you wished to do with them?” he asked me with a inquisitive tone.
I simply leaned back onto the throne and thought to myself for a moment.
I only sent the ogres yesterday, which would mean that they came here to confirm that I am really the god of Damnation.
Well they could have also come here for other reasons.
I’ll find out in a bit anyways.
MC: “Bring them to me Kaiser, lets meet our neighbours” I replied with an grin.
Kaiser smiled while noddding. He then turned around and left to go and get the people from ‘Ogres Stopping’.
I sat on my thorne in my human form as I waited from them to come to me.
And I didn’t end up waiting long, as within an few minutes, in came Kaiser followed by a several men and women.
Kaiser stepped into the room and bellowed out in a large voice.
Kaiser: “My god, I have brought the Mortals to you” after that he kneeled before me.
Since he had become serious all of a sudden, I had as well.
I subconsciously became stern looking and my presence became larger.
The humans began to sweat before the one who I assume would be their village chief, or mayor or whatever name their leader has, kneeled before me.

All of his entourage, all 9 of them, kneeled before me.
It felt nice to say the least.
I loved the attention and respect.
Some of them began to shake before I realized that I was now glaring at them.
I relaxed my presence and looked at them like one would look at anyone else. Normally, or as normal as I could get.
They somewhat relaxed, but they were still very, very rigid.
Oh well, that aside, I looked at Kaiser and I swear I caught a glimpse of him grinning, but I wasn’t sure, since his face currently, in the nicest way to put it, would make a child cry.
MC: “Welcome to my humble abode, it’s not much, but it’ll do for now, now raise your heads” I smiled as I said this to them.
They raised their head and seeing my smiling a few of them began to flatter me, the fort and Kaiser.
They said many things to me, ranging from my omnipotent beauty to my Earth Shattering strength all the way to Kaisers manliness and beauty.
I would have laughed but they took it to far.
I didn’t even know why they were buttering up to me.
Well its not like it was all of them, it was just a few of the old men.
I looked at Kaiser and pointed at the 3 men who had annoyed me with their incredibly broad range of flattering.
MC: “Make our guests at home and cater to them please Kaiser” I told him with a not so bright smile.
Kaiser simply grinned and nodded before walking up to the 3 men and pointing to the exit.
They began to sweat, apologize, beg and then curse at me.
But I could imagine why, they probably thought that they would die or be sacrificed.
Or something along those lines but I was seriously just asking Kaiser to take them somewhere else.
Knowing Kaiser, he’ll probably just put them in a room in the fort and lock them there, until I tell him to take them out.
I wonder what the ‘wait’ will do to them.
It’ll be interesting to see them later on.
I looked back at the remaining 7 people.
The leader, whose name was Joshua Elkington looked slightly irked but he hid it quite well.
He must be quite used to such things.
MC: “Well that aside, again allow me to welcome you to my humble abode, you’ll have to excuse me for removing your friends but they were beginning to annoy me” I gave them my brightest smile, but then back fired on me, as some of them began shaking again. I simply sighed before looking back at the leader “So tell me, Joshua, what brings you to me on this fine day?” I asked him.
He looked shocked for a moment, probably from the fact that I knew his name, but he quickly collected himself before smiling at me.
Joshua: “Thank you for receiving us and my apologies for my companions, God of Damnation” he said, I liked the fact that he didn’t butter me up with his first words. “I have come from the town, or ex-town of Ogres Stopping to thank you for conquering and driving away the ogres. You have my heartfelt thanks but I have come to request your aid” he said so with seriousness in his voice as he bowed his head.
I stared at him for a moment before staring at his companions.
MC: “I see” I said with a cold voice. His companions under my gaze began fidgeting and looking around “And why did you bring them if that was your reason? You could have come alone you know” I asked him.

He grinned when I asked him this question.
Joshua: “Because the ogres told me you now Inhabit Fort Ulkun, I thought that you may or may not want to have servants to take care of the castle and masons to repair it since I thought you may need them” he said so with a tinge of arrogance in his voice.
I smiled, he came with logic and reason. That gave him a bonus in my books.
MC: “A good reason to bring them” I said pointing at the so called Masons and servants “But what about those fools?” I asked him.
He paled at that before coughing and looking at me with a wry smile.
Joshua: “Well they were Town Elders and insisted they come and talk to you since, I, a youngin would probably fail in my negotiations” he said with shame in his voice.
That just made me laugh.
My laugh seemed to have a positive effect on the humans here as they looked less scared in my presence now.
MC: “That aside, now tell me what is your problem and why do you think that I can help you?” I asked him in a very inquisitive tone.
Joshua: “The noble who was in charge of protecting this area, stopped protecting us 3 decades ago when the Ogres became dominant here” he said so with hate in his voice “But the moment the Ogres have left, him and his men, those disgusting trash have come into our town and have declared that we are now under his protection and have to pay him tax. The last 30 years worth of it” he nearly spit his words out towards the end, the anger obviously visible.
I looked at him, nodding my understanding.
MC: “I understand, you hate the noble who abandoned you for 30 years and now comes claiming tax. Correct? That aside, what does it have to do with me?” I asked him, in a less inquisitive but more curious manner.
I knew where this was going, I still wanted to hear it from him.
Joshua: “I would like to transfer the town from under that pathetic nobles hands to yours” he said so bowing his head until it touched the ground. “Please help us. Please” his words became mere whispers towards the end.
I looked at him, as he bowed in front of me.
I had already decided what I wanted to do.
But before I could answer I heard a voice come from the entrance.
I looked up and what I saw surprised me.
Nathasha stood there.
She looked at me with an expression which I deemed equal to pouting.
Natasha: “You’ll help them right? You call yourself a god. Your mere voice drove away an army of Ogres!” She looked at me with anger in her eyes “But you take your time deciding whether or not to help them” her words flowed out with a large amount of passion and she glared at me as she spoke.
I looked at her with amusement in my eyes and laughed which made her angrier.
Before she could begin to lecture me again, I began to speak.
MC: “Well what if, at this moment I decline to help them? What would you do?” I asked her, in a somewhat teasing tone.
The only reason I did this, was because I was incredibly bored.
Two days of nothing is very hard on the soul of someone who at one point in his existence used something called the ‘Internet’.
She glared daggers at me, daggers which did little to no damage and where very beautiful. No, cute would be a better word for it.
Natasha: “You wouldn’t!” She said raising her voice “You’re too nice for that. But” she trailed off, her eyes looking elsewhere. She took her time before looking back at me and then mumbling in a low voice, tears forming on the sides of her eyes.
I looked at her before sighing, damned woman.
Always manipulating men using their emotions.
Well I was easy to manipulate because I let myself be manipulated, but that’s just me.
She was now hiding a smile, most likely pleased in the fact that she made me say yes, to something I was already going to say yes to.
But there was something she was hiding.
It couldn’t be that complex to figure it out, most likely a relative or someone she knows lived in that town.
But before I could ask her my question, I was shocked once again.
This time Ayanna casually walked into the throne room.
She looked at the people in the room one by one before slowly walking past them and all the way up to me.
She came right to my side and looked at me, right into my eyes before saying one word which melted my heart.
Ayanna: “Daddy, are you gonna save the town?” she asked me in her cute little voice.
I simply grinned broadly and nodded.
If my daughter wanted it, ofcourse I would do it.
MC: “Ofcourse dear, ofcourse” and with that she broke into a smile and hugged me before getting off and walking towards Natasha who took her hand and walked off.
And then it hit me, Natasha manipulated me firstly by herself and on the off chance she failed she had a invincible back up plan.
To use Ayanna.
Anyways both plans succeeded and I was left with my shattered pride.
But at least Ayanna spoke more than 1 word.
Usually she would only reply, Food, Sleep, Toilet etc.
That aside I also just realized she called me Daddy for the first time.
Was that Natasha’s idea, or was that her own.
The other words she said with a somewhat strange accent, which meant Natasha made her memorize it, but she said Daddy with emotion in the word.
I guess she said that by herself.
Smiling to myself I realized I had company.
I looked at them and they were all smiling but when they saw me looking at them they all went back to their passive looks.
MC: “Well you have your answer, go tell your lord that I now own your town and trying to take anything from it would be the same as declaring war on me. Its name is no longer ‘Ogre Stopping’ but ‘Ayanna’, the Capital City of the Ayan Empire. On that note, this is Castle Ayan not Fort Ulkun” and with that I dismissed him.
Joshua was grinning like there was no tomorrow and left with a very happy aura, the people he left behind were also overflowing with a happy aura.
They girls immediately went to begin cleaning and the men began cleaning up the rubble.
I sat their on my throne and watched Kaiser walk into the room.
He looked at me and Smiled.
Before he could even talk, or the better word would be, make fun of me, I began speaking.
MC: “Kaiser go rally a few ogres and orcs and then make a defense force for ‘Ayanna’, that’s the new name for ‘Ogre Stopping’in case you didn’t know. How long do you think it’ll take you?” I asked him in a bored manner.
Kaiser: “If I leave now, I’ll be able to make it there by tomorrow morning. You can then come by in the evening, also just in case, if necessary, the noble. May I?” Kaiser asked me with a grin on his face.
I simply nodded and with that he left.
I sat in silence for who knows how long before I realized that I forgot the Town Elders were locked in one of the rooms.
Oh well, I thought. They can survive a day in Isolation.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

8 165Bloodshed
Every ship has its secrets. The Bloodshed was no different. As its name suggests, this ship had seen its fair share of bloodshed. Originally, the ship was christened The Star of Orion. Over time with all the battles it endured, it quickly became known as Blood of Orion. Eventually, that morphed into the name we know today. The Star of Orion was built as a trade ship but when she was captured by pirates, she was modified and outfitted with anywhere between 15 and 30 guns. She was captained by one of the most fearsome pirates to roam the northeastern coast of North America and the southern coast of Africa, Anwen Wolfe. Anwen was known as the Wolf of the Atlantic. She captured The Star of Orion on its way to London. Little is known about what happened in their final days on the high seas, until now.
