A clear whisper,

Dancing in my head,

Go to sleep love;

Your eyes are dripping red,

A shallow cry,

Resonating my heart,

Don't put me to sleep;

I may never wake up,

A mirthless laugh,

Escaping my soul,

Why bother to sleep;

Let insomnia keep you warm,

A silent scream,

Clawing my chest,

As I lay here awake;

Wishing to be dead,

Don't let them come,

My eyes protest,

I beg my nightmares ;

Please let me rest,

Why is it so hard?

Closing my eyes,

Escaping into a land;

Where my sky won't cry,

Numb with struggle,

To just fall asleep,

Even for a second;

Let me sleep not dream,

Burning with fear,

Fighting all alone,

Fearing the shadows;

Hiding in my home,

After all those nights,

Just this time,

Please let me taste;

What peace feels like,

My vision blurs,

Tears slide down,

I can see them coming;

They want me to drown,

Can you hear me?

I'm calling for help,

Don't let them take me;

They'll drag me to hell.
