《Pasted Gunner》#7-Recon

After that affair with meat was I so mad that I just put the corpse inside the Inventory and threw it somewhere in the forest. Btw, I haven't equipped that bullshit title, you know, I am very intelligent man.
"And not fucking Jackass"
I realized one big problem, the crossbow. Its tension force is 700 Newtons, that is like lifting 70kg and it's freaking hard. I can reload it maximally three times. But there could be even hundred of those green pieces of shit.
I need to get stronger or better to say is I need to raise my Strength stat. This is performed when you level up or when you are using that stat, like exercise, fight, or even pulling that crossbow. To raise your stat, you need to go over its limits or use it often, but it needs time and I don't have it. So I need practice. But like every other weapon, you cannot fire the crossbow without bolt, so I'll make some training ones.
And as usually, how easy is say craft and how damn hard is to actually do so.
I was walking all around the forest, trying to find some materials, but the sun is already setting. I ignited fire, ate some meat and went sleep.
Next morning
[Today's plan is to recon enemy village.
I think it's better to come close at night and in day I'll observe their paths, acting and these shits around this stuff. I also think that I should make some ruckus to distract them from this place, when party of eight get lost, ya know, someone usually make some response. I don't wanna war before I'm ready.]
I packed the stuff, hid a remnants of camp and checked my equipment.
[Oh, grenades, I should rather put them into the cases]

Why would you use cases when you have Inventory? Because when you fight, your mind is somewhere else, your body is pumped with adrenaline and you can't concentrate much. Your whole concentration is being token away by enemy, and you cannot afford to use your mind to things like operating Inventory. On the other hand, taking grenade out of case is made automatically and you can still watch enemy. You just touch the case, open it, grab the grenade, pull out a pin, quickly look behind you if there are any obstacles, even vegetation and then you throw. Or so says theory. You may not think it, but to successfully throw the grenade, you need nerves from steel. Imagine that thing you are holding is perfectly able to kill you. Everyone is scared during their firs throwing, the one who isn't is idiot or lunatic and such man is dangerous, dangerous for himself and others. But this is another story.
So when I was ready, I departed. The trek was unexpectedly hard, the dense vegetation of this forest was hard to walk through. I cannot imagine not having my boot and pants. Over knee-high fans, goddamned fucking thorn took lot of time and stamina. And there was it, my salvation, game trail. It was longer but much more comfortable.
And so I went. I stopped for quick lunch, which consisted from smoked meat.
It's tasted was good but it remained me my "Jackass" title.
"And what, so I am, so what"
I equipped it, +15 Luk could maybe make difference between arrow in my body and arrow in some tree. That could come handy.
And the trek continued. I have to admit the beauty of this virgin nature, and what I heard, a bird and next one.
[Wow, I am out of owls territory]
I arrived at enemy territory in about two and half hours. I met several goblin paths, but nobody was around here.
And suddenly forest opened, there was a small hill with a rock. Hill full of these bastards, they were doing many casual things. The whole hill was surrounded by system of palisades, sharp logs in ground and even several watchtowers.
"Fuck"
[This will be far harder than I though. Only weak point is... shit I don't see any.]

8 160The Monster Inside: The First Vampire
Despite appearances, there was once a time where monsters did not exist. Where peace and prosperity reigned over all life. But those sinful and demonic forces that had hidden themselves in the shadows just couldn't help themselves could they? They wanted a piece of that prosperity too. They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.
8 1696Mind your Manors, please.
In a land of crimson and darkness, a lone door stood in a valley of fiery petals. Within was a golden mansion, home to the Count and his seven guests. When a lone child wandered into a manor of ruin and ancient evil, what horrors awaited the poor and innocent soul? Nemo didn’t know the answer to that question, but she sure as heck wanted to find out. A new world meant adventure, and adventure meant discovery, and discovery meant fun! Well, that was supposed to be the plan, but the Count was too busy trying to fix the manor to go with her. So she would help him, that was what friends were for, right? This ultimate housemaid would stop at nothing until the job was done. It didn’t matter if the manor lay ruined for many years, it didn’t matter if all the guests could bring about the end of the world, it doubly didn’t matter that Nemo was a low-level scrub, whatever that meant. She would level up, get better at fixing things, and nothing would stop her from having the Count take her on an adventure! Now, where did the last giant floating eyeball go? next arc release date: indefinite hiatus Disclaimer: the current cover is a place-holder stock photo taken from Stockfresh.
