《The Spirit Veil [The Akh Chronicles: Book 1]》15

The thought of being sucked into the Spirit World kept me awake long into the night. I really was torn. On the one hand, it was the place no one was supposed to see until they died. On the other hand, it was the place no one was supposed to see until they died. Yep. My argument for and against the idea was exactly the same. No wonder I was so torn. I wanted to see the Spirit World so badly. Sure, I'd seen it through Lydia's eyes but it wasn't the same as seeing it with my own. Knowing my luck, I'd be sucked into the portal even if at a reasonable distance.

I rolled over, reaching for my phone and flicking the scene on. It was past midnight, almost one in the morning. Tonight would be the first night of the blood moon. The portal to the Spirit World would begin to open but nothing too major would go in or out until tomorrow night. That would be when the blood moon was at its fullest. The night after, it would be over. I tossed my phone onto the table between mine and Arthur's bed before flipping onto my other side, looking out the window I left slightly open.

If anyone was in the park over the next few days, there was no way word spreading of some rip in the world could be avoided. I've found people tend to video dangerous things instead of doing something about them. What are those people called who video themselves in a tornado or something? Never mind, I can't remember. But they're what I'm talking about. Why is it that people always video instead of doing something? [Hmm? . . . That makes no sense.].
