《The Throne Of Beginnings》Essence of Gods

“Phew” Kai sat drenched in sweat, the amount of runes I had told me that we had gone at least through 50 bottles of runic essence each. “How did you know about this?”
“Lets just say intuition is one of my more prominent features” I smiled at him, I was partially being truthful, I couldn’t say that he was one of the reasons that I knew about the bottled essences was because of him.
He worked at a bottle farm before he became known as his better name ‘Poseidon’, He had found the bottled essence by luck but gave me my old essence too, my void jump was one of the bottled essences that I had found when he gave me the last bottle he possessed.
[Phase Jump:Available]
I felt whole again, void jump was my main rune was now available to me, I stretched my limbs and looked into the distance, the sun was setting like usual, I sighed as I went to my backpack to grab my sleeping bag, I almost forgot that I had run away from home.
“You could come over today” Kai kicked a rock across the street as he walked out of the small locker room we were in. “My mom doesn’t mind, she feel bad that your here most of the time”
I smiled, I considered Kai one of the only people I could call my true brother. I felt like I shouldn’t intrude on his personal life since it was the last day until they came to this world. I gave him a wave, it was the last time he would meet them before the first wave started. “Its fine, go on without me, you’ll need some time”
Kai gave me a funny look, and walked into the distance. I looked up to the stars, I felt no hatred although tomorrow would be the first day that my old friends would be reborn in the world we knew would enter our world. I sighed as the sounds of wind and trees rustling lulled me to a calm deep sleep.

The yelling woke me up, I wasn’t startled but I knew what was happening, I grabbed my bag with all my supplies and walked out of the storage room, I saw what I expected, all electricity had stopped working, all the cars in my view were either crashed or fried. I gulped as the first wave had begun, I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Did you know this would happen?” Kai had tears in his eyes as he gripped my shoulder
“I’m sorry” I whispered, I knew exactly why he was crying, when the first wave occurred. Many had fallen into a trance, a coma to be exact and there was only one way to wake them up was to finish the final wave. His mother and sister were one of the people who fell into the coma, and he cleared the waves in hope that he could wake them up again.
“You told me to spend some time with them… you knew this would happen?” He wiped his eyes as he took the water bottle that I had strapped to my backpack.
I said nothing as he understood what I meant, I helped a child to his feet as the crowd watched in awe as the first wave descended upon us. The thing appeared in front of us, black goo that started to form, a statue, the crowd surrounded the statue. I cursed the statue the same which meant we had to deal with one of the hardest battles of the first wave, Aion or the greek god of space and time. Aion was considered a benevolent god within greek mythology, but no one expected him to be a mass murder from another dimension. I held my breath in as the statue began to crack, I felt dread in my heart as I realised the next part.

“Kai, we need to go” I grabbed him and pulled him away from the crowd. I knew the next thing that was going to happen before it did, I watched as Aion emerged from the statue.
“That was the worst way to travel, I told them it was a bad idea. But here we are” He smiled at us, but I knew the truth behind that smile. Aion was never a benevolent god, he was one of the most sadistic one you could find.
“Hey who are you?” a man in the crowd ask pulling on Airon’s silk-like robes “I have work to be at”
“Run” I whispered at Kai, as he stared at Airon “That man is dangerous”
He turned back to me and nodded, we took shelter in the school as we heard the first scream. Kai turned away as the blood splatter to the windows.
“Now now, that isn’t any way to treat a god is it?” Airon’s voice boomed as we continued to climb the stairs to the top floor. His cackle echoed in my ear as if he was closer and closer every step I took “This isn’t your world anymore mortals, this… is the beginning of a new era, an era of gods”

A Universe of Bloody Evolution
The Void was never meant to be opened to the Multiverse. The horrors waiting inside it should have never seen the light. And yet, the biggest mistake in the history of creation led to the impossible. In an event later known as the Outbreak, gates appeared in the first Universe, and with them, the Void was free. For ages the Void destroyed universe after universe, spreading its power in every direction, leaving only death and pain behind. But before every Universe met its end, it still had a chance. A small part of the population that survived the initial Outbreak and was granted a mysterious System to help them fight against the dangers that came from the Void. They were the Multiverse's last hope even if they couldn't stop the collapse of their own world. And so the cycle continued until the 36th Outbreak came. Leo Hale, a young reporter from Wolford, was one of the lucky ones to survive when the majority of Earth's population turned into monsters straight out of nightmares. Thrust into a constant battle for his life, Leo was determined to push forward and find his remaining family. Even if it meant sacrificing what was left of his humanity. After all, you either adapt or die. Story of progression and evolution with my take at the post-apocalyptic genre. Unlike most monster evolution stories where the monster rushes to gain human form, here I plan to do something quite the opposite. After all, in a world where almost everything wants to kill you, being human can be hard. Warnings are here to give me the freedom to write whatever is necessary. This is my first original novel. Also English isn't my native language so any feedback is welcome. Remember that even if initially this story takes place on Earth, fictional places, streets, etc will appear. Release Schedule: Monday - Wednesday - Friday Average chapter length: 2000-2500 words (There might be exceptions as is the case with some of the first chapters - most of them are longer.)
