“What the hell are we supposed to do against him” Kai panted as we ran across the hallway, the view below was quite gruesome, the usually grey pavement was now dyed in red. I closed my eyes. I had seen this scene more than once in my old world, this was not something that I considered new.

“We need to find an artifact” I looked around us, the room should have been one of these. A man walked towards us, he was not panicked like the few groups that had ran past us a few times while we roamed the halls.

“I see you are trying to find it as well” He pulled his rice hat off, he had found himself a weapon; the staff of west. “The weapon that Airon supposedly uses in the Titanomachy, the twelve zodiac disk”

“How?” I stopped in my tracks as I realised that this man was not dressed normally, I realised what he had figured out, “You already absorbed his position?”

“Unfortunately it was bestowed onto me as the statue cracked” His reddish brown cape draped on his shoulders, he had spiky brown hair where the hat should have been, his beard was scruff but well kept, his figure was bulky almost like a bodybuilder, but his present felt unusual as if he wasn’t there “Death is still far for me, but I will help you”

“Why would you help me, Tang San of the Journey to the West” I bit my lips, Tang San was an actual deity I could count on, but it didn’t make sense that he was finding me. His power was considered one of the most helpful throughout the years. “I have nothing to prove to you, and nothing to offer you”

He stared at me and gave me a hearty laugh before patting me on the back, “I am given a gift young one, my eyes show me who is pure with their decisions and those who have others…. Reasons with their decisions”

“Hey, who is he?” Kai nudged me as we stood by the door of a room that had several people in it. “Why did you call him Tang Sang?”

“That is now my name, how ever you can call me Song” Song said, I was sceptic with this decision but I couldn’t afford a screw up, I needed that Disk and without his help I probably wouldn’t be able to find it “I lost my name, I can no longer remember it. I am now Tang San and Song”

“I will trust you for now…” I said as I pulled a knife out, I willed the space behind Song to become my location, I felt a tugging sensation as I appeared behind him, I put my knife at his neck, “Just understand that I will not hesitate to end you if betray us”

“Relax, I will keep my word” Song said as he raised a single hand to pray, a golden aura around him, I tried to push the knife closer only to realise that it was unable to move “However I wish for no violence if I am to help you”

“That’s fine for me” I breathed as I felt myself returning to the same spot I originally jumped from, Kai summoned water as he tried to act tough, which caused both me and Song to laugh.

“What???” Kai was bewildered, his confused expression caused our laughter to continue, at least until I heard a scream.

I looked at Song and reached my hands to receive the disk, I knew he had it, of course he did. It was no time to worry about it, I felt the power of the disk; the twelve zodiac animals, and the celestial beings within the stars. The star's energy coursed through me, I felt them reaching out to me, I felt my subconscious being dragged out of my body.

“Pick you weapon child” The empty space pulsated as three weapons were placed before me “Your fate shall be chosen depending on your choices”

The Scythe, the Zweihander, the Halberd. Their better names were; Scythe of time, Zweihander of Possibilities, Halberd of Mercy. All powerful in their own way, however what I needed to keep my loved ones alive was endless possibilities, I wielded the Zweihander in my hand, I saw endless possibilities, as I felt myself being pulled back into reality. The disk started to melt into the Zweihander. Kai looked shocked, Song completely unaffected handed me an earring, I took the ones I had currently off and switched it to the one Song gave me.

“This will give us communication abilities even if we cannot meet, It also has a protection of one life, it will be able to save you one time before it melts, the teardrop shaped earring hung from my ear. “Your friend will also get one”

“Whats going on?” Kai still looked completely confused, Song and I both laughed

“Peekaboo”

We turned to the window where Airon was hanging from the roof with a smile with a smile on his face, he pointed to my weapon, “I believe that is mine”
