Lawrence blasted the battlefield with a Dazzle spell, causing the first line of Gerheist soldiers in front of him to kneel and fall unconscious. Sheathing his sword, he pulled out gripped his shield tightly, pulling it closer to him. Two crescent blades erupted from both ends of the shield.

Leaping forward, he continued pushing. He knew he only had to push to a certain point that broke the armies sieging this place and victory would be his. His men rallied behind him, pouring into whatever gap that Lawrence smashed, sending the organized Gerheist army into disarray.

As he continued his unstoppable push forward, suddenly there was a long horn blast and the men that were desperately throwing themselves at Lawrence cleared out. In Lawrence's immediate view, the men stepped aside, forming a clear way. In that path was Field Marshall Brezveck, clad in armour of red and gold. In his hands were two polished scimitars. His visor was up and Brezveck smiled.

"I did not expect you to be such a capable fighter, Sir Carstein! Looks like our intelligence services need a good kick in the rear," Brezveck laughed as he moved into the clearing, his men closing the gap behind him.

"Indeed, what brings a Field Marshal all the way here? Surely you did not come here to admire my handicraft?" Lawrence replied, his heart pounding silently. For some reason, the Field Marshal's calm composure unnerved him.

"Boy, I am the Phoenix Commander. If my men are dying, the commander cannot sit back. Come, show me your spirit, Lawrence Carstein. I wish you good fortunes in the wars to come," Brezveck grinned, pushing his visor down, lowering his posture.

Lawrence's automated combat system was still on so he was not overly worried but all the same, he nodded and gripped his shield tightly.

"None of you are allowed to interfere in this fight no matter what, understand? Go and face those Owls if you have nothing to do!" Brezveck shouted as he dashed forward with unnatural speed. His blades flashed in the sunlight, and in Lawrence's eyes, the sunlight was projected into them. However, his protection charms allowed him to withstand being blinded.

Twirling in the air, the senior commander spun with his blades, a deadly dance. Lawrence raised his shield, jumping up, slamming into the dance and ending this act of elegance as he fell. However, he recovered almost immediately, resuming his low posture, his hands waving the blades around so quickly that to the untrained eye, one may have assumed he was simply turning his weapons around.

However, Lawrence could see that Brezveck's weapons were actually firmly in his grip at all times and if Lawrence had decided to attack him at the same time, Brezveck would have been able to fight as if the weapon has been ready at all times.

Brezveck then dashed forward again, this time, aiming for Lawrence's feet. The tower shield was slammed into the ground, stopping the attack, but Brezveck, with the other side of the curved weapon, hooked it onto the top of the crescent weapon of Lawrence's shield and leapt upwards, plunging down at Lawrence.

Suddenly, Lawrence noticed a glint in the gloves of Brezveck's armour.

The bolt fired, and the interface identified it as adamantine, one of the few things that could penetrate his armour.

The auto combat system moved Lawrence back, but the bolt was sticking out of Lawrence's beautiful tower shield as Brezveck landed.

"Very nice, Sir Lawrence, you are the only person who have dodged this."

"Thank you, commander. But I am afraid that it is the time to get serious."
