The Satyr's hooves smacked against the stone, his powerful hairy legs carried him deftly along the many small ledges that dotted the steep mountain, even now the memory was still fresh in his mind. The memory of the raging fires that engulfed his village felt like it had happened a mere hour ago. Which it had. A human caravan was passing through the village, trading with the friendly satyr inhabitants when it came. The monster's leathery, bat-like wings could be heard before they could see it, the dense canopy made by the trees was good to protect the satyr villagers from the rain, but it meant they only saw the creature when it was too late.
O'Kay The Satyr could still remember it vividly. The dense canopy was swathed in an inferno as a massive creature fell from the sky, its armoured body and sharp talons crushed the human's wagon underfoot, along with a number of traders, human and satyr alike. The beast. No. The Wyvern opened it's gargantuan, fanged maw as it made a faint hissing noise. O'Kay remembered that smell, like sulfur mixed with farts. A small spark seemed to glint within the Wyvern's mouth.

An inferno swathed across the village, the wood homes sprang into plumes of flame like kindling as the fire spread rapidly, within an instant the satyr village was nothing but a scorching hellscape, the tortured and terrified screams of the dying could almost be heard over the scaly behemoth's roar. The sound was horrifying, O'Kay's sensitive ears felt like they would burst.
He remembered the fighters of the village moving to stop the fierce monster, a combinations of warriors, rangers and numerous spellcasters attempted to intercept the creature to little avail. Their blades and clubs bounced off the monster's thick scales, their armor crumpled or was torn apart as they were batted aside by it's bladed tail or slashed in two by it's razor sharp claws.

Arrows snapped and ricocheted off the living tank of a creature whilst every spell the caster's slung simply dispersed along it's plated hide. Whilst the frontline was crushed beneath it's powerful body, the backline was reduced to nought more than ashes and charred flesh by it's raging, hellish breath attack.
O'Kay was no fighter, he couldn't help at all. He simply watched on as his loved ones. His friends. His people were massacred, innocents killed by a ruthless monster without reason. Without cause. The satyr couldn't fight the beast, but he could help others, his people were doomed, but he could warn any other innocents of the monsters precense. There was a sizable town not very far away, they welcomed the Satyr's since his village often helped with training adventurers as well as trading medical supplies for the mining town's most common commodity, iron. If O'Kay came to that town telling them of a wyvern, they would surely put together a hunting party to eliminate the creature.
The only real issue was that although it would usually take no more than a few hours for O'Kay to reach the village when he was sprinting at full speed, he would also have to cross a mountain range, home to a number of other monsters, none as dangerous as the Wyvern, but still deadly.
That was when O'Kay had made up his mind to find help others. To run away.
O'Kay was gone from the smouldering wreckage of his village and clambering up the nearest mountain within the hour.
He was in such a rush in fact, that he didn't notice the rather ill-crafted and badly hidden tripwire that was set up along one of the many narrow mountain paths.
He did notice that his hoof had snagged on the wire a moment later however, since an arrow came hurtling down from above him and sunk into his shoulder.

The next thing he noticed were two figures clambering down from above towards him, a muscular looking humanoid monster, thick patches of hair and fur covering his body and growing around his head into an admittedly glurious mane. Behind that monster was a much smaller creature, one he recognised from a manual he'd been gifted by a human trader a while ago, it's ugly, green little frame matched the illustrations he'd seen in Valon's Guide To Killing Garbage Mobs. A goblin.
