CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Oh, good morning, you would not believe the day I've had!

~

Michael and several assistants cast a healing spell

And in time the panic of the village would dispel

Sky and her two friends waited outside the healer’s room

Todd informed Twig’s family about his brush with doom

But in Twig’s mind his questions didn’t cease despite the pain

He wondered if all his efforts would just be in vain

Had he dreamt of all those strange red boxes that he saw

What was all that talk of some outdated system law

Achievement: Frustrating

This cannot be happening, you actually survived?

How could such a happy ending be so soon deprived?

Tell me what just happened or I’ll take more stats away

Wait a minute, what are all those x’s in the way?

Twig felt like he’d laugh if he was not in so much pain

His cruel god was begging him to hurry and explain

“Sorry, bud, I have no news to give a god like you

Now I won’t be hurt by any awful thing you do”

Achievement: Unfathomably Frustrating

This is just impossible, now everything is wrong!

Was there such a troublesome thing right there all along?

This is unlike anything that happened in the past!

How did everything go so terribly wrong so fast?

Twig began recalling what the strange red screens had said

He’d had his who status rearranged while he was dead

Now his guardian can’t do him any more harm

Even if the nature of his screen caused some alarm

Achievement: This Can’t be Happening

How could one be so stubborn that they can’t even die?

Will you always be a burden to your friends and Sky?

Now all I can do is give you achievements all day?

After all my planning, how could things turn out this way?

Twig’s confusion grew as the all the messages went on

What conclusions had his evil guardian just drawn

He tried to call his deity back to explain some more

But suddenly he wasn’t quite as noisy as before

“You still there, you cranky god, or did you run away?”

Twig mocked his guardian but he seemed to have nought to say

‘Oh well’ Twig thought as he began to regain consciousness

Noticing he still was in a world of dizziness

He opened up his one good eye and saw the healer’s face

And in a moment found himself in someone’s warm embrace

“Twig, I’m sorry we left you behind, we’re awful friends”

Sky released her grip doubtful that she could make amends

Sky stepped back and he could see that all his friends were there

His parents and his sisters, even neighbours everywhere

His missing eye began to ache and when he raised his hand

He noticed that it wasn’t there to use as he had planned

He looked down at his legs and was relieved that there were two

And though he was left handed, his right hand would have to do

Depth perception was an issue that made his head ache

But it was a small price to pay for such a huge mistake
