CHAPTER FOURTEEN
What's a System and why does it want to 'delete' me?!
~
“I’m sorry that I worried you but I’ll be fine real soon
But it has been one hell of a difficult afternoon”
Twig tried to smile and comfort those who stared at him in grief
But found his face could not express a morsel of relief
Tears began to stream down his face faster and faster
He felt his life was just disaster after disaster
The meeting ended up being postponed for the evening
Twig being alive was sufficiently relieving
His family all took turns holding onto him so tight
That he thought his head might just burst but still it felt alright
He’d never been so happy to see all of their faces
And by the time morning came they had traded places
His father was the biggest crybaby of the whole lot
But if he’d cried more in the past, his wife must have forgot
The family all tried to comfort him and by midday
They’d all exhausted themselves crying half the day away

He still has a hand to hold a sword in, no problem
His mother and his father both received such status screens
They’d do there best to help him as long as they had the means
They sent his sisters home after they’d said what came to mind
And Twig assured them they could now leave their worries behind
“Twig, it’s been a strange day but we really need to know
What happened out there, and where did your status screen go”
His mother's was the sharpest sword of of all the town's fighters
And she spoke to her son like she spoke to her followers
The healer came back into the room once the crown had gone
And he could continue the quest which he was now on
"Tell me what you know about the nature of your soul
You practically came back from the dead, did fate play a role?"
Twig clear his head and rubbed the stump where his left hand should be
And looked from his parents to the healer, struggling to see
“I guess I don’t have anything to hide, but where to start
I’ll tell you what I saw after I was stabbed through the heart”
System Message
Warning, this soul entity is no longer in sync
Sharing outside knowledge could cause more harm than you think
Withhold any information you have come to learn
Current status is now impossible to discern
Twig looked for a moment in confusion at the screen
“Wait a moment, what does ‘System Message’ even mean?
Sharing outside knowledge could cause more harm than you think”
But when he said that, what he saw next made his young heart sink
System Message
Withhold knowledge of the realm which mortals shouldn’t know
If you love your family, tell them you must now go
System is unable to reintegrate your soul
But full deletion would result in far too great a hole
