CHAPTER TWELVE
Did I cheat death or am I in for something even worse?
~
Achievement: Peering into the Abyss
Congratulations Sky, but this is quite a strange event
You’ve appraised Twigs stats, but we’re not quite sure where they went
As you’ve looked into something that even gods can’t see
I’ll make sure to boost your mana quite regularly
Sky was so confused she felt like she herself may fall
But it seemed her new guardian wasn’t bad at all
But could she ever see stats that even a god can’t see
Could mana be raised for such a purpose easily
Achievement: Testing Godly Limits
Indeed, us deities must seem all powerful to you
But even we all limited in the magic we do
We can only gently touch the world you occupy
If we interfered to much then you would quickly die
As she looked upon Twig’s injured body, Sky felt lost
But she needed to know more about her magic’s cost
“How come you can give me power not possessed by you?
If you can’t see his stats, how could I ever hope to?”
Achievement: Embarrassing Your Deity
Like I said, there’s things that we can’t do, don’t rub it in
But we can unlock amazing powers found within
I can slowly raise your mana until you can see
I can’t buff my own but I can edit yours freely
Sky wanted more answers but for now she had a task
She needed to know if Twig was fine, but couldn’t ask
While she sat there frozen by grief, Todd swept up the boy
“Come on kids, there’ll be a party later to enjoy”
The four of them, plus Twig in Todd’s arms, started to head back
Still in shock and too tired to discuss the bug attack

After they’d killed almost all the bugs, the portal closed
But a strange and dark destiny had just been exposed

It’s been years since you had to go all out like that eh
Who’d have thunk you still had it in you to fight that way
Keep an eye on Twig but be wary around that boy
Something feels off about him, like he’s a broken toy
When they reached the town everyone was in a panic

Many people also saw screens that made them feel sick
Every god was nervous about what had just happened
And the more they read, the more the mystery deepened
Todd brought Twig up to the healer who dwelled in their town
Pushing the door off its hinges then laying him down
The healer had been waiting since he’d just received a quest
And when he saw Twig himself, the healer looked distressed

Michael, as you’ve heard by now, this boy is quite unwell
You may need assistance with your own appraisal spell
Brace yourself, I’ll boost your mana as much as I can
This might hurt but this was never a part of fate’s plan
Michael reeled in pain as mana filled his heart right up
It felt like hot magma poured into a small tea cup
After he regained composure, he could cast a spell
But he was astounded by what Twig’s status would tell

Through sheer will he managed to decipher some of it
But he was stunned that would he revealed was only a bit
What’s more, the format of his status screen was all wrong
The place where six numbers should be was two numbers too long
In the end he could only unlock a few pieces
It would take him ten lifetime’s worth of stat increases
Could there be a mage somewhere who could make sense of this?
Either way it remained clear that something was amiss
“I don’t know what curse could do this, or if this is right
Nothing known to history could help shed any light
We can only treat his wounds and wait for him to heal
Maybe there’s some other knowledge Twig can help reveal”

Is Lucas Destined to Die in the New World?
Lucas imagined himself doing grander things in life; after all, he put in his own blood, sweat, and tears, and got himself a master's degree in English. Maybe he'd be the next best-selling author, or maybe the most popular late night TV show host. However, life didn't give him anything more than a management position at the local burger joint. Day in and day out, he flipped burgers, swept floors, and made weekly schedules that his employees ignored. All he had known for the past five years of his life was pure misery. Then after one night of drunken revelry, he found himself in an unfamiliar world, but he knew all the gimmicks. He knew these stories had quirks he could manipulate- he could put all his stats into magic and become the best wizard in the world, or he could dump all his stats into strength and become a veritable warrior. But once again, just like Earth, this new world seemed to have different plans for him. Instead, he was given a luck stat of 0 and a skill that forced him into danger where there should have been none. Why is this nerdy, magical paradise trying to kill him? Content warnings are there to give me some creative legroom later. There's not an excess of any gruesome content in the story, and what is there is tastefully sprinkled in. This is a LitRPG. Updates are twice a week on Mon/Fri plus some extras here and there.

8 617Volatile Gods
The Gods have come. Not the benevolent gods from religions across the world. They are gods of chaos and mayhem. And humanity is their primary source of entertainment. And the cruel humans that worship them? The gods give them abilities—powers to “entertain” the gods—and call them Worshipers. How do I fit into this story? Well I met a boy; quiet, naïve but adorable Nathan. Imagine my surprise when we run into Worshipers and instead of tearing us apart they bow to my nice, quiet boyfriend. Not only is Nathan a god, but he turns out to be the leader of the gods, Prince. He decides he wants to keep me. I run. I run right into a group of rebels calling themselves Warriors and they think I’m the key to killing the gods. I would call them crazy but they have gods on their side too. Gods who want Prince dead. Do I risk my freedom and my life on the hope this group brings?
8 57Terror Infinity-A new terror
Want to know the meaning of life? Want to live... a real life? That is the message that Chris gets one day at school and in his despair over the bully's and teachers not listening to him he hits yes. Will he be able to survive what he got himself into. This is my own take to the original Terror Infinity and Terror Infinity - side Band my first attempt at a fanfic enjoy
8 112Lost souls, will be rewritten soon. (Old version)
In a world where mages stand above the peasants, the nobles, and the law, it is not surprising that everyone wants to learn magic. Five siblings from a village in the middle of nowhere felt the same. Unfortunately, a dragon brought ruin to their home, eventually cornering the five blood brothers. Luz, the eldest brother, ignored the warnings of his ancestors for the sake of their survival. Using an ancient teleportation spell, he and his siblings were sucked into a portal leading to God-knows-where. In a foreign place far from home, Luz carries the burden of disobeying his ancestors and losing his younger brothers. He sets off to reunite his siblings and slay the dragon that destroyed their village while only being equipped with one useless space spell that drains all his mana after one usage. Author's note: English isn't my first language and this is the first novel I tried writing, which is why some of the earlier chapters aren't that good, even though I grew better over time. I'm still in the phase of editing a lot of my earlier chapters. But unfortunately, I haven't yet found any time for it. Daily updates are to be expected till we reach chapter 100. If your comment motivates me, I might upload up to five chapters.^^
8 219Whodunnit? Murder On Mystery Cove
"Dear Giles, I'm sure you already know what this note is going to say. Please, do find solace in this as it once again means your life is spared, but for many of this next set of guests, they will be scared. Not only for their lives but scared quite literally. I have enclosed some information on the back of this letter. Follow the rules and no harm will come to you or your staff." ~Delightfully yours, the Killer.Once again, Giles the butler finds himself stranded in a mysterious manor with an evil killer. The killer has invited eleven guests including themself to stay a few weeks at Dawson Cove in Devonshire, England. The rules are simple. Each week, one person will die and the other guests have to solve the crime of how they were murdered. They will then make their cases and the game will continue. Until there is only one winner and the killer. This may just be the sickest most vile killer yet and it could be any one of them.
