《Love's Desire》Blood and Pain

(Jadion's POV)
Silence. "Well you just spoke. That doesn't happen often." He said bluntly. There was another moment of silence. "Well. Can we be friends then?" I asked, holding my hand out.
She laughed, "HAH! That's rich! Why would I ever make friends with scum from upstairs? Not mentioning a useless god who doesn't even have their own magic and has to be pampered around by GGS like some kind of baby?!" "You take that back, asshole!" Kat yelled at Lestid, "Well it's the goddamn truth! If he wants to get any of his own magic then he needs to at least try. Instead of pushing him around to make friends and embarrass the poor kid even more why don't you work on his magic?" Kate stopped yelling. "Oh and also tell Jade up there to call me Lucy next time, 'kay?" Lucy added before pushing us out of her quarters.
"Sorry 'bout that, Jade. She's like that sometimes." Kat muttered under her breath. I turned my head towards her and my jaw dropped. "Wait, she?" I asked. "Oh yeahhh.... She's a trans female by the way." "Why on the fucking GGS's code, would you not tell me that?! Now she hates meeeeee." I whisper-yelled.
She pushed me up the staircase, with me still complaining.
(Vexian's POV)
I wanted to see the garden again. No. That's not true. I wanted to see him. I wondered what he's doing right now.. I sat up, goofily grinning.
"Hey! Your majesty!" Someone yelled from behind me. I twisted my head until the person who had yelled was visible to me. "Oh it's you, the decent guy. Let me guess, you want something, right?" I muttered just so he could hear me. I turned my body around so that I was facing, Todd. "Eh!? No, no, no, sir! I just wanted to say thank you. She's been annoying me all the time lately." He did a mimic of the silly girl from before. "I'm going to marry the prince and you will serve me, muah ha ha!" My eyes shut and I giggled, there was silence. I opened my eyes. "That's the first time I've ever heard you laugh, your majesty, and I've served you for seven years!" He exclaimed. My eyes widened slightly, "Really?" I asked, genuinely curious, he nodded enthusicastically.
"You should express yourself more often, my prince."

I smiled and said cheerfully, "Well I need to attend to some important and private business so if you would be so kind to mislead any guards that may come to look after me?" I asked, winking mischeviously.
I ran out into the garden. Looking around until a portal opened behind me. I jumped and hid behind the nearest hedge. A tall, strong woman with dark skin and ink black hair, wearing a mask with little horns stuck on.
I gulped and froze. The lady looked through the portal and back out. "Damn does it really take that long for GGS to sort that asshole out?" She asked herself, annoyed. The hot guy with the heart mask walked out of the portal. "Took ya long enough. Were you and GGS chatting or something?" "Eh heh heh.. No." She threw him against the ground. "Well why the fuck did it take so long, asshole?" He made an oohf sound as he hit the ground "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Look it takes ✨skill✨ to look this good."
Not gonna lie he did look good. He wore a suit this time and at the moment he was looking reeeal fine messing with his tie and half posing for a non-existent camera.
"Ok well have fun I guess. Bye dipshit." "Bye dumbass." The woman was inches away from the portal, but she stopped. "Stay safe you idiot. I'm not losing anyone else." Before anyone could say another word she zipped through the portal. "Well that was something I just saw." I said as I walked out from the hedge.
He froze back facing me. I walked up to him from behind and wrapped my arms around his neck one hand covering his eyes the other on his chest. "Now we know how it goes. Mask off~" I taunted, he rose his hands to his mask and unbuckled, before slowly taking it off. "Good boy.." I muttered, I unwrapped my arms and turned him around. "Nice suit. Did you doll up for me?" I asked. "I just wanted something new y'know. You look all fancy-fucking-dancy in your uniform too." He replied.
I placed a hand on his freckled, warm cheek. "I still think your freckles are the most beautiful thing I ever saw." "Eh?! Really?" I smiled and pulled him towards me and embraced him. For a second he hesitated but he wrapped his arms around me eventually. We broke the embrace.

"So.. Let's say you really are a god. Why did you come here?" "...." I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand. "Not talking huh? I guess you aren't a god after all." I dragged him over to the fountain and sat down, gesturing for him to sit down too.
"Your majesty~" "Agh! Sorry that bitch pushed me out of the way, my prince-"
I pushed the him into the fountain and glanced in the direction of the voice. "Stay until they leave." I whispered. The annoying blonde from earlier leapt out from the nearest hedge. "Oh, Vexy~" She ran over and tried to hug me. Luckily Todd managed to push her out of the way before she got to me, or worse, the guy hiding in the fountain.
"I'm so sorry sire, she pushed me out of the way so hard back there, she has the most incredible strength and speed for her body. It's like she runs marathons daily!" Todd exclaimed, holding back the blonde. "Let me get to my future husband, shitty peasant!" She yelled before kicking Todd with immense force. "GAH! FUCK!" He spat. Todd was blasted into the hedges around us and caused a dent in my wonderfully pruned bushes. "No.... My bushes." I whispered, jokingly.
I felt a hand tap my back. "Can I handle this?" The guy whispered. I nodded.
(Jadion's POV)
I quickly thought. GGS teleport me and Prince Vexian to a nearby location and bring the poor soul who just got kicked into the next dimension with us. A portal opened in the water and I could tell by Vexian's gasp that the kid got teleported. I grabbed Vex by the back and pulled him into the water. Lastly, I grabbed my mask and pushed it to my face, covering the cross and the symbol on it.
(Vexian's POV)
One second I was watching Todd disappear, the next I was pulled into water without warning! "What the hell is going on. Why is there a guy who's clinging a mask on his face. Is he a warlock? I was an apprentice of one once. Can I see what you got? I'm Todd by the way." "Todd, please don't mess with him." He smirked suddenly. "Oh so fucking a guy was the 'Important and private business' eh?" My face turned pink. "W-what? NO! Fuck.... Don't get the wrong idea!" He yelled. "Anyway, what's your name?" Todd asked. "Oh yeah, I never knew that either." I said, questioningly. "Ah- Uhm."
(Jadion's POV)
He's an apprentice, that means.....
He knows.
I sighed, "Promise you won't run away or anything..?" Todd looked at me with a puzzled expression and all happy expression fluttered away from Vexian's face. "Seriously? This crap again?" I breathed out. I removed the hand covering the symbol and cross from my mask. "What the fuck." "Uhm I'm Jadion or Jade." Todd fell to his knees and lowered his head in a praise of some kind. "What..... Is he okay..?" Vexian asked, genuinely concerned. "Why aren't you bowing?! You are in the presence of the third most powerful god!"
"Please don't bow...." I said awkwardly. "I don't believe that for a second. Look he doesn't even look like a god!" Vexian yelled annoyed. Vexian started striding towards me. "Vexian what are you-"
Vexian attempted to pull my mask off by force like a few days ago except harder and it was more painful then anything I ever experienced. "AAGHH! STOP! NO!" I screamed, in pure agony. Todd looked at Vexian with fury like I've never seen. Blood started seeping out from where the mask edges hit my face. "It's not that bad- Oh shit your bleeding." Vexian stopped abruptly, "I-I...." I started crying under the mask.
"No.. No m-more.... Please." I whimpered, terrified. "Let m-me take it o-off myself..." I raised my hands to the back of my head and unbuckled it. "Y-you have blood a-all around where t-the edges of t-the mask are..." "Vexian. You went too far. Didn't you know that some masks have enchantments where only the wearer can take it off?" Todd said before running over to help me. "He's seriously injured. If you did that for much longer his whole entire face would have been torn off. Now gods don't die of injuries but that could make sure his time as a god shortened by a whole lot. Gods and goddesses die of old-age in a way."
Everything faded into black.
I'm so sorry for the bad ending lmao also i listened to this while writing this lol :> 1547 words love ya dumbasses

The Glyph Queen
When Winnie was thirteen, her settlement taught her how to fire a rifle. Her school practiced drills in case raiders came, and the town grew crops in their greenhouse-adapted homes, which were the only places warm enough during the worldwide nuclear winter. The Lakiran empire invades—a corporate-born nation overseen by their corporate-born queen, Victoria Paladino. They ride silent planes whose repulsion field veered bullets away. Three years of occupation later, an exemplar visits—a member of Victoria’s oversight committee rumored to read minds. He tells Winnie that she may have a unique mental power, or a flair. At the empire’s capital, the queen herself tutors Winnie to help her reach the full potential of whatever power she may have. Meanwhile, in post-war Nigeria, a streetwise teenager named Naema sees a different side of the empire. Between corruption and oppression, everyone lives in squaller. People fight over assembled food pastes. She too is told she has a unique flair, not by the empire, but by a fugitive woman who is the last vestige of an ancient witch coven, and she knows a dark secret about what the exemplars do to people like Winnie and Naema. Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The most recent chapters of The Glyph Queen are available on its main website.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
