《Love's Desire》Bittersweet

(Jade's POV)
I closed the portal behind me. I saw Kat outside it. She slicked back a stand of her ink-black hair "Oh... I need to talk to you." She said, awkwardly while scratching her neck. "Uh, sure." I mumbled. "I've been thinking to what you said earlier.... I'm sorry. For being the worst sister ever. For saying that crap. I'm really fucking sorry." She rambled.
"I forgive you."
"I know you won't forgive me but- Wait you forgive me?" She stuttered, confused. I wrapped my arms around her, 'hugging' is the word that humans use for it. "I said that I forgive you. Don't make me regret this."
Instantly she went back to asshole mode, "Well now that's sorted, I can try and get you some friends! As you have literally none!" She said, pulling out of the hug. "Uhm... I dunno...." I mumbled. "What was that? Probably nothing important now let's go!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me down the staircase to hell.
"Hey fuckers, I'm back baby!" She yelled as the tip of her foot touched the blackened marble of the last step. "C'mon little bro you have to meet our cousin!" She yelled, passing angry devils. "Oh cupids..." I sighed, not ready for the torture that was eventually coming.
"So you are on good terms with your sibling whom you literally didn't care about for decades? Nah, it's gonna take more than that to prank me." My head bowed slightly and I said, "In all due respect, Lestid. Katinlia isn't pranking you."
(Vexian's POV)
I blinked. I was looking up at the periwinkle coloured ceiling. My left hand dangling off the side of the bed, my right on my chest. Why haven't I reported him yet? Why did I want to see him again? Why am I yearning for him? All these thoughts drifted through my head. If I was going to be honest I didn't feel attraction, just curiosity. But then why did I say those things to him?

This is.....
Bittersweetly wrong.....
I breathed, sat up and breathed out again. I let myself calm down and turned my gaze to the wardrobe beside my bed. My left foot automatically jolted upwards and propelled me forward, as mechanically as my left, my right caught me before impact with the hard floor and repeated the same actions as afore mentioned. After I was changed into a baby blue extravagant uniform with gold accents and small elegant patterns.
I turned my body around and stepped in the other direction. Soon enough my feet had nowhere to go as they stopped in front of the looming door. I moved my hand and rested it on the cold, brass doorknob. I breathed out and swung the door open.
My eyes met an empty palace, none of the servants were bustling around at this time. It looked about dawn and the sun was a mere slimmer in the purples, pinks and reds in the sky. I didn't even see my father strolling about like he usually did. I realised how long I had been sitting in my bed staring at the ceiling. I mustn't have even noticed how late it was at the time.
Time goes by so fast.
At a slow pace I wandered over to the kitchens, normally there would be small bread rolls on the bakery area's table. I opened the door into the kitchens and was greeted with a pair of servants. "O-oh; Hello young p-prince!" A girl with blonde hair squealed timidly. "Do you have anything for me? Or are you being no useful than usual?" I asked. The girl gulped then stammered, "Todd is p-preparing cinnamon rolls..." I nodded in partial-thanks and walked over to the other servant. "Cinnamon roll please?" "Oh. These are for breakfast, your highness, but there are some extra in the storage room." He said. I smiled and bowed. "Thank you, Todd." He smiled back.

The blonde girl's eyes widened and she scowled and whisper-whined to herself, "Why did Vex not smile at me?! It's not fair! I'm supposed to be the servant who the handsome prince secretly likes and then ends up marrying!" Both Todd and me looked at her in disgust and disbelief. "I suddenly have a decrease on the scale that I like women." I thought out-loud. Todd burst into laughter and I just kept staring in utter horror at this blonde bitch.
She started crying and Todd's laughter slowed and I really just wanted to leave. I grabbed three rolls and ran out. In all seriousness was that really how people saw me? I honestly felt like a joke. No, jokes are supposed to be funny. I just felt....
Sad.
Like an orphan.
With no arms.
Or legs.
I shook my head and stuffed a roll into my mouth. Bittersweet. Just how I liked it. Deja vu hit me like someone threw a brick at my head. Bittersweet.... Was how I felt when I was around that guy with the god complex. I smiled. Bittersweet, the cinnamon stood out against the sweetness of the bun, therefore creating a bittersweet taste.
I realised that I was slumped down and sitting on the floor and smiled softly. This was bittersweet. And I loved it. Every bit of it.

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
