《Love's Desire》Prince

(Vexian's POV)
My legs seemed to automatically walk to the giant, castle doors. I looked behind me and wondered 'Will I ever see him again? How strange, when he took off his mask he was so..... No wonder he called himself a god.' I turned my head forwards again and stepped into the castle, now held captive once again in it's walls.
"Vex! How are you doing? It's been a while since we talked, hasn't it?" A cheerful voice declared in the crowded hallway. "Oh! Your majesty." I said, bowing in respect for my father, King Phillip of Midray. "I've told you so many times, my son, don't address me as 'Majesty' it's 'Dad' to you." He said, kindly. I chuckled slightly, and embraced my father. "I've been doing well, Dad." I smiled fondly. My father was always so delightful and tried his best to be kind to everyone.
My mother on the other hand only cared about my younger brother and took him when he was one. We looked for him ever since. My mother was torn apart by her own magic. I never knew much about her.
If that guy really was a god would he know where my brother was? I pondered this for a second.
"It's getting late, it may be still sunny outside but it's summer. I say you go rest, you've had a busy day, Vex." Father suggested. I yawned, "That's true. But I should stay up for a little longer...." I half said, half yawned. He sighed and insisted I rest for a bit. "Ok but I'm gonna get up at the crack of dawn." I declared. "Whatever you say, Vex." Father said cheerfully, as I made my way towards the bedrooms.

I was in the garden. "Where am I? Am I lucid dreaming?" I asked myself. I spotted the guy from earlier, "HEY!" I yelled, trying to get his attention. He walked through another portal and I ran straight for it. I just managed to make it in time. "Eh?" I was in a place above the clouds. "Hey, what are you doing here?" A godly, giant figure wearing the same mask as earlier but had weird pink-tinted skin asked me. "Why did you follow me into the portal?" he asked again. "Wait you're the same guy from earlier! Why is your skin pink now and why are you five times the size of me?!" He picked me up in his hand. "Is your face still the same? Can I see?" I asked, he sighed and with his other hand he unbuckled his mask. He looked the same except with white hair and pink instead of the whites in his eyes. "You still look cute." I said. I thought to myself, if this is a lucid dream then I could do anything I wanted. So I asked him, "Wait hold me up to your face!" He sighed again and did. I slapped him in the face and he yelled, "Ok, that's it!" and put me back down. I stuck my tongue at him and dived through the portal.
I sat bolt upright. What a strange dream.... I had dreamt that he really was a god.... I looked out of the window. Black. I felt somehow full of energy although it felt like I slept for 5 minutes. I looked out in the garden. I pulled on a plain robe and walked towards the door. I opened it slowly, so as not to make a sound. I crept out of the doors and ran out, free. I had escaped the castle walls.

I walked to the fountain in the middle of the maze-like bushes. I looked at my reflection. the full moon lit up the night. I heard a noise from the opposite side of the hedge next to me. I peeked through the leaves and twigs. The same guy from earlier. He had came out of another portal.
I whispered, "So what are you doing out here this late?" He jumped and fell backwards into the portal. I giggled and walked around the hedge to the portal and waited for him to stand up again. "You good?" I giggled. He didn't say anything. "Uh hello?" "Yeah? What do you want?" He muttered. I narrowed my eyes, "I asked you, what are you doing out here this late?" I repeated.
Silence for a few seconds and then, "Depends, why are you outside at this time?" He replied. "Uhm... Well I don't know really...." I mumbled, now questioning this myself. He was silent and then said bluntly, "Same." I looked up at his mask. "You need sleep, you look like you haven't slept since I fucking left." He said, after a moment of silence. He picked me up and walked towards the doors of the great prison-like walls of the castle.
"Hey! Put me the fuck down weirdo. I'm not going back in. Hey!" I whisper-yelled while softly punching his arms. "You need sleep go back to bed." He said. I pouted and sighed. "Well can I see your face again at least? Pleeeease?" I begged. He put me down in front of the doors and unbuckled his mask again. "Hehe, your freckles are so cute! Your eyes are beautiful as well y'know. You just have pretty privilage."
"Please stop. I really am not used to it." He muttered, uncomfortable and blushing. "Well I mean you're blushing so you must like it." I said, smiling. He turned red and covered his face with one hand. "I asked to stop." He said, really uncomfortable now. "Sorry, hot-stuff." I said before slipping into the castle and shutting the doors.
I leaned against the door and covered my mouth. Why the fuck was I flirting with him when it obviously made him uncomfortable?! I heard him leave and then walked to my room. and covered my face with a pillow and whisper-screamed into it. I took off my robe and realised that I really did feel shitty and needed sleep. So I did.

Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series. Its already free on Amazon, so I thought I'd post chapters here for the good folks of Royal Road. Gato Lana: Part 1 [Start of The End]
(This story is based of: https://gato-lana.fandom.com/wiki/Gato_Lana_Wiki. Reading Dialogues/character pages is recommended. You don't have to read them to understand this story, though.)In the world of Arcave, humanity is fighting against the "Longers", monsters with different shapes and unknown purposes. The human race only survives with difficulty against them while the "Longers" fight relentlessly to exterminate humanity once and for all. Arcave is a world where light pierces the darkness and darkness engulfs the light. A world where the balance between hope and despair is a thin line that threatens to break every time the bright star in the sky rises. A world where every day is a fierce battle for the survival of the species.Even if the human species is the dominant one, it is not the only one on the world of Arcave. The "Kemonos" are humans with animal attributes, considered other than human. The "Morris" are less like humans and are mistreated, because they are the ones who would have allowed the Longers to become so powerful...

RELINQUISH
Sometimes I wonder why the world isn't decorated with something as cool as magic... Why can't we manipulate the laws of the world? Why does the story about God sound too fake to be believed? Why the hope for this world to be saved from the bottom of everyone's heart can never be fulfilled... Then I landed on each conclusion from each of those questions... That humans are the most cunning, meanest and stupidest creatures who are most desperately expected to not have any power including magic itself. That it is not God that we should believe in, because they themselves do not believe in how disgusting human nature really is. That everyone's hope is not for the world to be saved, but for the world to be destroyed in order to save their own selves. That the world from the beginning, was not meant to be saved... (I frequently revise and update the use of sentences in the previous chapters without disturbing the original storyline. so sometimes it takes me a little longer to publish a new chapter.) I have the same novel posted on another website (Webnovel.com , creativenovels.com) with the same name (RELINQUISH)
