《The boy down the river》Chapter 2

(Marco's POV)
I left Miss Travis's office, my eyes sparkling with soon-to-be tears I ran up the worn stairs to the attic. The bullies, Mark, Luke and Parker, were waiting and they smirked, "Suck it up." Mark teased, his Luke and Parker laughed, I ignored them and walked up the stairs.
Yuni and Inni were waiting for me at the attic, "Hey Marco, what's up? Your not going to the basement are you?" Inni asked, she looked worried.
"What?! But then you won't be able to see us for ALL of the day! AND fishing is the most boring punishment EVER! That old hag!" Inni yelled after I had explained. "You shouldn't have tried to defend us Marco...." Yuni looked really sad. I pulled her up too my face. She blushed a tiny bit. "You guys are worth defending." I said calmly. I hugged her. She was surprised at this but hugged back.
After a night of silence I woke up early to go downstairs, Miss Travis was waiting for me. "Here! You shall fish until breakfast!" She led me to the bridge near the river and then left.
I walked down to the tall green reeds and started too get my fishing rod ready when I heard little splashing noises behind the reeds.
I froze.
Was someone else at the river?
I closed my eyes.
I slowly parted the reeds.
I opened my eyes.
There was a boy my age.
He had dark skin and bright orange hair.
He had seaweed around his hands making him stand still.
He was stuck.
The boy noticed me, he thrusted at the seaweed, gave up and dived under the water.
Because he dived, a rock fell on the seaweed, trapping him.
He was going to drown... I had to do something!

I grabbed the rock and threw it at the bank and I pulled him out of the water.
He looked at me questioningly. "Are you alright?" I asked kindly.
He nodded.
"What your name?" I asked.
He looked confused then pointed to the river bed, it was covered in reeds.
"Is your name Reed?" I replied, he nodded happily "Reed's a nice name, I'm Marco and I'll be here fishing if you need me. He smiled and swam away.
Suddenly I realised... I was soaking wet! Miss Travis was going to kill me! I took off my shirt and wrung it out. Reed came back just at that moment and turned extremely red. He covered his eyes and turned the other way. I noticed him and said "Eh?!" I quickly put my still slightly wet shirt back on and sat down.
Reed stayed with me until the bell rang for breakfast and I had to go back to the old building. Miss Travis made me stay in a separate room for breakfast and soon enough I went back to the river.
Reed looked surprised that I came back and smiled at me as I slowly sat down. "Do you want too sit next to me river-boy? He blushed slightly and slowly sat next too me. I smiled and put my arm around him. He looked tired and soon enough he fell asleep on my shoulder. I blushed a little bit and continued to fish.

Stolen by the System
Lost. Vulnerable. Alone. What would you sacrifice to get home? Kidnapped on the cusp of graduation, Jake is dumped into a deadly world of levels and magic. His dreams shattered again, he’s left with a choice: fight or die – and Death won’t let him go that easily. A savage wolf, a horrific secret, and an abhorrent quest make day one the second worst day of his life. Whatever bastard is pulling the strings is due one hell of a reckoning. On the plus side, there’s magic, and Jake’s got the stats to master it. Spells not included, but, hey, creating spells and programming are basically the same thing, right? At least Spellcrafting is slightly less suicidal than trying to stop the encroaching dungeon spawn threat. Because why wouldn’t there be an apocalypse in progress. All the more reason to find his way back fast. Unfortunately, the path home leads right into the heart of danger. Fighting monsters, dungeon delving, solving puzzles – whatever it takes, Jake is finding his way home. He’ll need allies. Powerful allies, like a trainee ranger who struggles to find her hairbrush. Pointy ears, executive dysfunction, and a perilously gutsy moral compass – what more could one want in a Companion? Alas, beggars can’t be choosers. He needs every edge he can get. Going home means finishing his quest. That quest. The quest that doesn’t deserve completion. Save your father, save the world. Update Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Temporarily ad hoc.
