《I'll see you on the other side》27: I'd like that

I angrily tapped on my phone screen for the alarm to stop blaring at me to wake up. 6.00am. I stretched and dragged myself out from my warm bed covers into my bathroom. The minty taste of my toothpaste filled my mouth as I rubbed the sleep out my eyes. The background was filled by the loud splashing of water hitting the shower floor before I stepped inside disrupting the loudness. God I loved my showers.
🫂. At this time someone is calling me, are you mad??? My phone was sitting on the edge of the sink, just about arms reach from where I was standing. Lord I'm begging it doesn't fall and get wet. I stretched my arm for my phone and unsurprisingly it slipped out of my hand and fell. SHIT SHIT SHIT. I dived for it and landed hard on my bathroom floor, phone in hand.
"Hello?" I groaned in pain, my legs wobbled while my hand grabbed onto the towel rack to keep my body steady.
"God what happened to you." Cerelia asked over the phone,
"I almost killed myself trying to answer your goddamn call." I gritted wrapping a fluffy robe around me.
"Sorry...I'll come pick up so we can go school together, take it as an peace offering," she said cheerfully,
"Fine in a bit," I ended the call and sat on my bed rubbing my lavender lotion into my sore skin. Fuck it hurts so bad.
I pulled on my shirt, careful not to hit my fresh wounds from the fall. The mirror sat in front of me, showcasing my ugly body and short stature. A pathetic excuse of a human stared back at me, disgusted at the thing that sat in front of it. I stood up and lifted my shirt, why was my stomach like that? Why are my boobs not the way it should be? Fuck sake. Snatching my jacket, I walked down the stairs to grab an ice pack from the freezer.

"Anak?! What happened?" My mother rushed to me, grabbing my face to inspect it.
"I slipped in the shower Ma, I'm fine don't worry."
"IT'S CAUSE OF THAT PHONE."
"Ha okay okay." I said in defeat as I slumped onto the couch and applied the cold compress to my bruises.
"I brought some bandages." My dad handed me a roll of bandages and I wrapped it around my stomach.
"Thanks." I answered.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEPP BEEEEEEEEEP!!
I flinched and turned to the living room window.
"I have to go now ma and dad." I picked up my bag and grabbed a brioche on the way out.
"Be careful Azia ha, you might break an arm or something," My mum said and waved me goodbye.
"Heyy...fuck I'm so sorry." Cerelia stood outside her BMW and scanned my body.
"Huh? Oh yeah it's fine." I noticed my shirt was only half on, showcasing my bandaged ribs. Fixing my shirt awkwardly I opened the car door and stepped in, the cool air emerging from the vent sent shivers down my arms.
"How bad is it?" She asked guiltily,
"Just a few bruises, I'm fine I promise." Reaching out for her knee, I caressed it to indicate that little harm was done.
"If you say so, let's head to art before we're late again." Cerelia fired up the engine and we were off.
I limped down the hallway and we turned the corner to enter the classroom. Cerelia walked to her seat while I slowly sat into mine. I leaned back on my seat clutching my side in pain.
"Are you okay?" A sweet mellow voice brought me back to reality. Pulling my body up, I faced the person speaking. Eleena's small stature loomed over me and examined my face.

"Eleena?!" I jolted up and hit my knee under the desk, right on one of the bruises.
"Fuck, NOT YOU I MEANT THE TABLE."
"The table?" She tilted her head puzzled and sat down next to me.
"Yeah I hit my knee...anyways how are you?" I asked her,
"I'm good thanks, nervous for our tutor session later." She giggled.
"Awh why?!" I whined,
"Haha what if you're a mean tutor or something?" Eleena twirled a piece of her hair and faced me,
"Me being mean? I could never, not with you."
I tucked the loose strands of hair behind her ear. A rosy blush appeared on her cheeks and she turned away.
"Sorry, uh I heard there was a sixth form sports day coming up." I cleared my throat and changed the subject.
"Oh yes, I'm going to participate in the fencing event, what about you?"
"Football event," I said proudly,
"I never knew you played! I'll be sure to watch." Eleena smiled at me and fiddled with her sleeve.
""
"Okay that's it for today, see you next lesson." Rustling of bags and zipping of pencil cases began around me.
"Uhm, what time should I be at your house?" Eleena tugged on my sleeve gently and stared into my eyes.
"Oh yh, meet me in the front car park and we can go straight after school unless you have anywhere to be?" I said while I pulled my bag strap onto my shoulder.
"Okay sure, see you." She walked away filling the air with her strawberry aroma, she smells so sweet.
A bright flash blinded my eyes and I squinted to see who it was.
"Yeah, you'll never catch me lacking like that." Cerelia turned her phone screen and showed me the slip.
"...I have no words for you." I sulked and walked out the door.
"COME BACK!!" Cerelia screeched and latched onto my bag handle.
"No." I groaned, limping to my locker.
"But but you look so cute." She pouted.
"Suck your mum Lia." I laughed and linked my arm into hers then walked to the cafeteria.
