"Alice, did you find anything out about the twins?" Edward asked.

"Yeah, it took some time, but I know I'm right," Alice said, her expression grime but confident.

"At first I had an inkling about it, but with a deep dive in the library and the constant power growth from Valentine, and Bella's ability to block out our powers, I'm sure. Mages still exist and there is the first know finding." Alice said. There was a silence felled with disbelief.

"Are you so sure?" Carlisle asked, not dismissing the theory, or in Alice's mind, the fact completely.

"As I said, Valentine's power continues to grow exponentially, a mage's power keeps growing till their 19th birthday-" sje said but Edward cut her off.

"But shouldn't he already be able to use his powers?"

"Maybe he can, Mages have been known to use their powers in more subdued settings," Alice explained. "But even if he can't, then is probably because he doesn't know. I was looking, and there have been studies saying a mage could go there in their entire life and not know about their powers. Carlisle everything you alive when Mages and witches went extinct?" Alice asked, looking at Carlisle.

"I was, but that's only true to some extent. Low-level mages can go their entire life not knowing, but I'm assuming Valentine is a pretty strong mage if the way you talk about his power is any indication. A high-level mage power will eventually show."

Alice's body suddenly went stock still, her eyes glazing over. She was having a vision.

Alice watched from Valentine's eye. He was sitting at dinner by himself, and he was pissed. "20 fucking minutes late." He snarled under his breath just as two guys walked in looking for trouble. There was a flash; one guy taunted Valentine, the other snatching his phone and the word "fag" left one's lips. Valentine gritted his teeth before shoving one out of his way and rushing outside.

His skin was too hot and too cold; anger clouded his thoughts.

He walked outside to take a breath, to try to cool off before doing something irreversible, but like people looking for trouble, the teens didn't leave him alone.

They were flashes of arguing- mocking- and then on push set the domino effect.

Magic so bright and overwhelming blasted from Valentine's fingertips, his eyes glowing bright red.

Screams of terror or maybe Alice imagined it because not a second later there was nothing. Everything was quiet. The boys were on the floor, dead or alive Alice couldn't tell, but Valentine wasn't looking at them but at a wolf who if Alice could guess had yet to make his first change.

"Your... a mage." And Alice was snapped out of the future.

"He's a mage, an extremely powerful one, and a wolf saw him using his power," Alice said voice low.
