"Seriously?!" Valentine yelled excitement and happiness in his expression and words.

If Charlie was telling the truth a dog was in the short future.

"Yeah, a friend of mine's dog gave birth two months ago. They called and asked if I wanted one." Charlie explained a smile on his face. He seemed to like the idea too.

"Dad, you have to! And they're a long haired german shepherd! A german shepherd, just add fluff!" Valentine would have begged, but lucky he didn't have to.

"Ok, but remember it's your dog. That means I don't want to see shit on the fool Valentine." Charlie said his voice firm and all 'dad-like'.

"Ha! I'll rarely ever give this shithead a compliment, but even I know he would never do that," Bella said.

She walked in on her phone seeming to be texting someone.

"Good." Charlie smiled proudly.

"I want a cat," Bella said before going into her room.

"You gonna give her a cat?" Valentine asked eyebrows raised.

"I feel like I have to now." Charlie laughed.

"Alright kid, I have to go get some work done. You know Bella out more than you, you should go do something." Charlie advised before heading out.

Valentine sighed. He'd gotten plenty popular in the few months he'd been at school, but nobody was really.... real.

Valentine when up the stairs to his room and flopped down on his bed. He took his phone off his dresser.

He unlock his phone and went to his contacts and decoded to text 'pup'
