《ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇs》The jump

"I- wanna- go- home!" Chika complained as You dragged her outside by the hand. With her free hand, she secured her hand to the doorknob. Chika was so insistent on staying home that You had to literally drag her outside, end even now, with her strengths lacking, she made an effort to get You to give up and go away.

But the odds weren't in Chika's favor now.

So she finally let go of the of the doorknob and hesitantly placed herself in front of You. Her face contorted into an ugly frown, but it was not easy taking her seriously. Not when You knew she was a real softy inside and that she just did this to scare her away.

"Thank God you finally gave in. We would've been like that all evening if you hadn't let go. But then again I wouldn't mind spending all my evening with you." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Oh for Christ's sake" she said, punching the other's shoulder.

"Let's just get going", and with that, You hooked their arms together and started to ran forward, ignoring all of Chika's questions as to where they were going.

"You'll see once we get there."

"This? This is your big plan for the day?"

"Ta-da!" The silver haired girl said as she made jazz jands with an exaggerated smile.

The girls were in You's living room, a box of pizza and a bowl of ice cream were displayed on the coffee table in front of the TV. On the TV stand, there were a few CD boxes, horror movies and children movies included.

"Who even uses CD's this days? Don't you have Netflix or something?"

"Ouch, I make something nice for you and this is the thanks I get. Remind me to not ever spend my money on you again." She scoffed, lying dow on the couch.

"I'm just kidding, don't be stupid, although that must not be easy for you." A grin formed on her lips.

"Ha ha. Very funy. Just sit down already and stop attacking me for two seconds, gosh." Chika sat down next to You and crossed her legs, taking a slice of pizza and giving it a bite. Maybe this evening would be alright, maybe she could forget what she'd dreamed of. If she could just enjoy her time with You now, everything would be alright (momentarily).

It was not alright.

Well, not for Chika, at the very least. She tried her very best to forget the stress and sudden sadness welling up inside of her, the horrible side effects caused by the pills, but she felt awful.

She wanted to stop this madness. She couldn't stop thinking about that dream, she couldn't stop thinking about all the possible ways in which she could be bringing down the ones she loved, accidentally l them, dragging them down with her. But thoughts wouldn't leave her alone.

It had never gotten this bad before, but she just couldn't keep up the act anymore, so in middle of the movie, she broke down. The tears that she had been holding in came pouring down like a waterfall.

You desperately tried to calm Chika down, asking what was wrong over and over again, holding her hand and hugging her, but Chika wouldn't stop. She'd just keep saying "I can't do this anymore, I'm tired. I'm really tired. I want this to stop." Even Chika herself wasn't sure what she meant. She just wanted it to be over, but she didn't know what exactly that was. She just wanted to rest. To escape.

You kept trying, but Chika stormed out of the house, apologizing frantically as she run home as fast as she could. Speed wasn't on her side now, because the medicine made her extremely ill and tired. Tired.

She could hear the sky's angry thunders and the rain started pouring wildly. But she kept running. She wasn't sure where to, but Chika's legs kept moving and her tears kept pouring. Her breathing was becoming shaky and she choked out a few sobs, rubbing her eyes with her hands.

Before long, she found herself kneeling down on a cliff above the sea, somewhere where she'd always go to when she took out Shiitake for walks.

"Are you aware now?" Riko asked, appearing at her side. Her hair blew with the wind, the strong scent of sea salt was spread by the wind. "Aware of how awful things are?"

"I've always been aware", Chika laughed bitterly laughed through her tears. "I've simply ignored it." She stood up, sniffling.

"Why not end it all here?"

"Are you actually asking me to jump?"

"Well, wouldn't that be better for all of us? You wouldn't be responsible for any more suffering. And you wouldn't have to take that God awful medicine they give you every single day!" She stepped closer, placing her hand on Chika's shoulder. "Sound promising, doesn't it?"

"I-I'm scared.. I'm not ready for this. I-it's too high.."

"Just close your eyes, it'll only last a few seconds. Don't you wanna forget all your troubles?"

"I do.. but I c-can't jump.."

"Then I'll push you. Come on, just stand over the edge." Riko pushed Chika foward and Chika closed her eyes, breathing shakily for what she thought was her final moment alive.

Riko pushed her. Or at least, Chika thought Riko had pushed her, but she was jumping. When she was about to fall down, someone grabbed her. Chika did not know who, because all she heard before she hit her head against one of the rocks on the cliff was a cry for help to whoever had saved her.
