《ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇs》Drowning

"I'm home!" The girl announced as she stepped inside and took off her shoes. Her hair was messy and strands were sticking out everywhere, she had tired pink eyes.
"Welcome back", her mom said. She and her daughter looked so much alike that someone could've easily thought they were sisters, and the fact that Chika's mom was small and a bit childish looking didn't help either.
Chika walked into the kitchen where her mom was preparing lunch and took a mandarin and a glass of water.
"How was the sleep over? Did you guys have fun?", Chika wasn't exactly sure how to answer, so she acted coy and responded "It was interesting, I suppose."
"And what could you possibly mean by that?", but before she could continue asking any more questions, she laid eyes on the bandaids on Chika's arm. "Why do you have so many bandaids on? Are you alright?"
"Oh, that. Kanan was taking care of a someone's cat while they were away and it scratched me." A lame lie, but it made enough sense for her mom to let this slide. She was so used to lying to her family that it wasn't even hard to make up something and make it look natural. She felt bad for doing so, but there was no way she was letting them know what had happened just a few hours earlier. She had an appointment with the psychiatrist today anyways, she was gonna let her know later.
Chika took a small bottle of Haloperidol and sent two pills down her throat, shoving them down with a glass of water. After leaving Kanan's house she hadn't been feeling too well, but she decided her friends would make her stay longer if she told them, so she just went home.

Once in her room, she plopped down on the bed and pressed her face against a pillow, closing her eyes in hopes of getting some more sleep before lunch time. Her eyelids felt heavy and it was only a matter of minutes later until she was fast asleep.
As ir turns out, sleeping wasn't a good idea, it was in fact, terrible. Whenever she had nightmares they would be about Riko, and by this point, she was used to it. She would be a bit shaken up once she woke up, but it wasn't as bad as the hallucinations.
Nevertheless, the nightmares were different this time, much different. She did not remember all of it, but the nerve wracking feeling it gave was still there while waking up.
She remembered being on the beach, standing by the shore, when all of the sudden, out of the corner or her eye, she saw someone drowning. It was a girl, she was wailing her arms desperately and letting out cries for help. At first, Chika couldn't recognize her, but when she took a closer look, she froze.
It was You.
And she wasn't simply drowning, she was being pulled down by someone. Chika had to do something immediately, and she didn't even stop to think before jumping into the sea. The waves churn and knocked her over, her clothes were soaked and slowed her down as she tries to reach the girl drowning not too far away from her.
"" You yelled, coughing and gasping for air as a hand pulled her from the hair to drag her down.
""
Just as Chika stretches out her hand to grab You, the unknown person dragged her down completely, revealing her self. It was Chika. Another version of her... Her eyes were dark and filled with something that just screamed 'danger!'. The 'dark Chika' looked as if she hadn't slept in days, her squishy cheeks had disappeared and her sharp cheekbones popped out.

"" Chika held her breath and attempted to swim towards the bottom to get a hold of her friend, but there was something stopping her, almost like an invisible force pulling her back up.
'Dark Chika' laughed bitterly, throwing her head back as she started to shake. ""
And then, both 'Dark Chika' and You were engulfed by the ocean and everything went black.
A few days had passed by since that terrible nightmare took place in Chika's head. It was more than she could take in, and to admit something like this after been through so many internal struggles.. it wasn't exactly something to take lightly.
The mere thought of dragging You down with her because of her problems wasn't something she wanted to deal with. Even though Chika would never admit it openly, You helped her a lot more than she imagined.
Sure, she was a bit of an annoyance sometimes (most of the time), and she basically harassed her sexually (okay, maybe that was a bit of a stretch), but for some reason, she made her happy.
Whenever a smile sneaked her way onto You's lips it made Chika's heart skip a beat. And every single one of her stupid jokes would make her laugh, sometimes they were so bad Chika felt the need to hold in a laugh and criticize them, but she would never manage to hold in the laughs.
Ever since she had that dream, Chika felt quite down. Normally, when she was feeling this way, she'd go visit her friends or just spend some time by herself doing what she enjoyed, which of course included listening to music and screaming the lyrics all by herself.
But this time the regular routine didn't seem to work. She hadn't see Kanan nor You, because after having that dream, it just didn't feel like it would make her happy to see them. She would just look at them and feel stretched out and worried. And this two would reciprocate the worried looks if they saw their friend in her current state.
Her eyes were constantly reddish from the lack of sleep and the tears being shed from nightmares and hallucinations. Her family has with no doubt noticed this characteristics and keep an eye on her, with that same sad look.
It was honestly exhausting to see that same look every single day, knowing she was a burden to her family was awful.
And to top it all off, the side effects from the medicine were awful. She had headaches, threw up a few times and even fainted when it was really bad.
She was scrolling through her instagram feed when she received a message from You.

Not a real reincarnation. Welcome to Nexus. A place where the multiverse intersects. Chris Garcia was trying to do the right thing for his sibling when he is shot and killed. Instead of his soul moving on to the next life. He is given another opportunity. Well of course he takes it. Or there will be no story. He gets some ability then dumped into the Nexus. He has much to learn, lucky for him, his ability brings him allies so he won’t die so quickly. (This is my attempt to improve my writing skill. Constuctive criticism are highly welcome) *Note: Some things will develop fast. Other will be a slow burner. Tags will be added as I progress the story. (Honestly, I have no idea where this story is going anymore). Please don't rate this story yet. Give me till 100 chapter to figure out what I'm doing haha. If I can simply entertain some of the readers, that's enough for me. Thanks for taking the time to read! I decide to not edit past chapters. Only touch up on grammers if I get around to it. I want to see the progression of my writing skill.
