The next morning we get our bikes and make our way to the sandlot.

The boys all notice us.

"Oh, damn!" Bertram complains

"Oh, no!" Says squints.

I wasn't going to let them get away with hurting my brother

"What'd you say, crap face?" Says ham

"I said you shouldn't even be allowed to touch a baseball." I reply "Except for Rodriguez, you're all an insult to the game."

"Come on! We'll take you on right here, right now!" Ham yells

"Come on!" They all Shout in Agreement

"We play on a real diamond, Porter." Says Philips "You ain't good enough to lick the dirt off our cleats."

"Watch it, jerk." Yells ham.

"Scab eater!" Jordan says

"Butt sniffer!"

"Pus licker!" I say

"Fart smeller!"

"You eat dog crap for breakfast, geek." says Jordan

"You mix your Wheaties with your mama's toe jam!"

"You bob for apples in the toilet and you like it." Continues Jordan

"You play ball like a girl!" Yells ham

The boys Laugh. Except benny, He looks down.

"What did you say?" I ask, in a sharp tone.

"You heard me."

Instead of starting a fight I say "Tomorrow. Noon. At the tigers field."

"Be there, buffalo-butt breath." Jordan says

"Count on it, pee-drinking crap face!"

"Let's go!" Jordan says. We bike off.

"We're gonna kick their butts tomorrow." Says ham

"Yeah!" They all agree

"Ham you didn't have to say that man" benny says

"What!? What did I say?"

"Y/n is good at baseball. There's no need to make comments saying that girls can't play!"

"But they can't! It's a fact!"

"Well we'll find out tomorrow." Says benny

"You are gonna play with us tomorrow right?" Asks Jordan
