"Y/n, you ready?" Asks Philips
"Yeah let's go"
We get our bikes and go to the tigers field. Everyone is already there.
The sandlot boys bat first. Most of them do well. Benny gets a home run. Once they've all batted, we came to the conclusion that if we want to win, two people need to get home runs.
"Play ball!" Yells ham "Hurry up, batter. It's gonna be a short game, and I gotta get home for lunch."
He misses.
"That's one."
Me and Philips look at eachother annoyed.
He hits the next one and just about gets him. The sandlot boys look annoyed.
Another boy goes up to bat. He misses the first two.
"You gotta sort out your team Jordan" I whisper.
"You know, if I had a dog as ugly as you, I'd shave his butt and tell him to walk backwards." Ham teases. "The heater. Here it comes. I dare you."
He misses
"Strike three. You're out."
Everyone else has gone but we still need two home runs if we want to win. It's now Jordan's turn.
"Cmon Jordan!" I yell
He gets ready to hit it.
"Hey, is that your sister out there in left field, naked?" Ham teases "She's naked."
"Shut up, Porter!" He yells, missing the ball
"Hey, hey, hey. I'm just trying to have a little friendly conversation. Come on. You think she'd go out with me?"
"Ignore him, Jordan!" I yell
He hits it and gets a home run. He runs over to me and hugs me.
"Well done!" I say.
"Alright y/n, you need to get a home run to win." He says
"Got it!"
I go over to bat.
"Benny likes you, he's staring at you. If you hit it in his direction he won't catch it." Ham says

I know he's teasing but I look at Benny and he does look a bit distracted. I hit the ball in Benny's direction and run. Benny doesn't catch it and I get a home run.
I celebrate with Jordan. The boys all get mad at Benny. I go over to them.
"I guess girls can play. Unlucky Rodriguez, maybe I am better than you" I start walking off. "Oh yeah ham, thanks for the advice"
"Ham! What did you say to her?!" They ask.
"I might have said that Benny likes her and he's staring at her." He pauses. " and If she hits it in his direction he won't catch it."
"Ham!" They all complain.
"She didn't believe you about the part where you said Benny likes her right?" Squints asks "because he definitely doesn't!"
Benny stays quiet and looks down.
"Right, Benny?!" Squints says.
"Uh, yeah. Guys I gotta go." He runs off.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!

Tryphant Agent's Historical Logs
[Disclaimer: This novel is no longer in continuation since I've found more joy in writing short stories. I'll continue writing about this universe and the world in it, building upon the documents of the Tryphant Agents but in another novel] What is the origin of life? What is the meaning to life? Are we the only intelligent being in this universe? Why haven't we been struct by a catastrophe??? How has the world been so peaceful for such a long time?!!! Is there a hidden force that controls our world from being destroyed?!!! How have we not noticed them!?!!! Am I just delusional??!!!! I'm definetly delusional. These are the questions that mortals often ask and frequently ignore in their life, yet answering these questions will lead a person to the Tryphant Agents. An organization who protects various civiliaztions from destruction time and time again without a single person noticing them. They are an organization that is like time, powerful yet unnoticed. This is the historical logs of the Tryphant Agents. Disclaimer: I'm writing this to fill my world with details and I'm only hoping for this to be a good story. The main core focus is to write characters with life into them, a world where it feels real, and story that is consistent. Don't expect a top tier story because this will be my experimental logs as well where I will try various writing styles. Rather I wish that you hope for a great story instead.
