"So, New York City?" Mateo asked, curiosity glistening in his eyes.

I nodded, thanking the waiter for my cosmopolitan. My foot tapped anxiously, showing Mateo that I was jittery.

"Yup. The big Apple." I replied, mentally slapping myself. If there was anyway to sound like a complete idiot, that was for sure the one.

He looked away from me, his eyes trailing down to the bartender's ass. I rolled my eyes remembering he was, in fact, still a male. With, obviously, a lack of respect.

"You wanna take out the bartender instead?" I grimaced, wanting this night to be over with.

If it wasn't obvious to every person in this lobby, and Mateo himself, I didn't want to be here. Truthfully, the one million dollars didn't mean anything to me anymore.

I just wanted to be with Vinnie.

"Watch you attitude." He demanded, setting his glass on the table a little too violently.

Pinching my eyebrows together, I knew I had taken my own attitude a little too far. Somehow someway, in my pea-sized brain, I had forgotten he was a mafia man.

I sipped my drink, forcing a light smile. "Sorry, just tired." I lied, and he knew it too.

Seconds later, he turned his gaze to me. His eyes bared a devilish look, one I hadn't quite seen before. I would be lying if I said I wasn't completely mortified right now.

He grabbed my hand forcefully, yanking me out of the seat. I stumbled over my heels as he tugged me towards the limo we came in.

"Get the fuck in the back." He growled, shoving me in.

Every part of me had hoped this was about to be an angry sex episode, like Vinnie and I just experienced, but I knew this was far from that... I was, so obviously, in deep shit.

I sat in the back of the pitch black limo, shaking restlessly. Scrambling for my phone, I shoved it into a pocket inside of my dress.

It was a tactic used by mafia women, apparently, for cases like these. The phone was unnoticeable, making it easier for me to get in touch with people.

Suddenly, Mateo gripped onto my thigh. His nails cut into my skin, causing a whimper to escape from my mouth.

"You think I didn't know what you were up to?" He whispered in my ear, his hand roaming dangerously close to my area.

I felt anxious sweat drip down my back. My cheeks were flushed red, and Mateo's hot breath that burned my neck disgusted me like no other.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I replied, showing no emotion. It was a good thing this car was pitch black (except for the occasional street lights we passed).

He grabbed my face abruptly with his hand. I could already feel a big, purple, bruise forming.

"So the name Vinnie Hacker doesn't ring a bell to you?"

Oh, it does, I thought to myself.

I turned my head away, trying to move away from his right grasp. My legs squirmed like a bug that had just been crushed, and I felt immensely defeated.

His grip on my thigh deepened, the pain becoming more severe.

"No, it doesn't." I spit, slapping his hand off my thigh, a sigh of relief escaping my mouth.

I knew everything I was saying would mean nothing to him. He saw me that first night with Vinnie, my cover was blown from the start.

"Don't fucking lie to me." He growled once more, moving his hand back onto my thigh. This time, I wouldn't be able to slap it off.

His hand suddenly began moving up my thigh, making me lose track of where I was.

I kept squirming in attempt to move his grossly sweaty body off of mine. My heart was pounding at the rate of one thousand miles, and I couldn't brush off the sick feeling that lured in my stomach.

"W-what do you want from me?" I stuttered, trying not to show how terrified I was.

His grip became more tight, if that was even possible, causing me to whimper in pain once more. The look on his face showed he didn't have one ounce of remorse, but that he liked the pain I was in.

He moved his face entirely too close to mine, giving it a kiss. "Leave him."

I closed my eyes shut, trying to transport myself into another dimension. Foolishly, I knew this wasn't possible. But, anything to get me out of this hell would do.

"Leave who?" I replied, attempting to turn my face away from his, only to have it forced back.

He scoffed, slapping me across my face as the limo came to a halt. I looked outside, noticing we weren't at Mateo's Villa. Instead, we were in a dim-lit valley.

"Don't be such a fool." He spit, grabbing me by wrist and shoving me out of the car.

I was greeted by four men, all of whom were holding shotguns. My legs began to become wobbly, while I was profusely sweating.

Mateo shoved me into them. Now I had four harsh grips on my arms, while two of them took their time to slap my ass. I squirmed around like a fish out of water, only to have nothing change.

"Boys, you know where to take her." Mateo devilishly said, giving me the side eye.

Suddenly, my face was covered with a white cloth. My vision began to become blurry while my legs started to give out.

The last thing I remember was falling onto the cold, grey cement while Mateo laughed like a maniac.

"V-vinnie..." I mumbled, before everything went pitch black.

The next morning I woke up with a headache that felt like it was ripping through my skull. My body was terribly limp, and I sat on a cold, cement floor chained to a pole with handcuffs.

With only the senses my body could provide me, I shuffled around to feel for my phone.

Alert and sadness evoked me when I realized that it wasn't there. I should've known a mafia man like Mateo would know old tricks.

I looked down at my body, sighing at the sight of dirt and bruises that covered me. Ashamed was something I had never quite felt before, but at the moment, it was the only emotion I was capable of feeling.

The room I was in had little to light, unless you would count the one tiny window that showed nothing but a brick wall.

Laying my head against the cold, dirty wall, I let bouts of tears escape my eyes. I didn't even want to know how horrendously disheveled I looked.

My mind was running circles around Vinnie. Did he even know the danger I was in? Did he even notice that's it's the next day and I haven't reported to him or the team? Did he even care enough to come and find me?

Worst of all, it had been days since I had last spoken to Amelia. She had no idea of the danger I was in, but I didn't want her to. For all I knew, she would fly to Italy herself and try to find me.

Suddenly, the door opened and a man shuffled in. He looked like the rest: black suit, stubbled jawline. I rolled my eyes, turning my body away.

For that, I received a kick to my gut. I gagged, trying to disregard the vomit that came rushing up my throat.

Manhandling me, he took a key and unlocked the handcuffs, forcing me to stand up. He grabbed me by waist, smashing his lips onto mine.

I squirmed and fidgeted, but nothing changed. He was acting like I was some sort of sex doll.

"Let's go, baby." He growled, slapping my ass harder than anyone ever had. I whimpered, shuffling out the door.

The man led me down a dark, moist hallway. I chewed on my lip, trying to hold the tears that kept barking at me to come out. But, I couldn't show that I was weak.

We made a sharp right when I was pushed into a pitch black room. I heard the breathing of several men, but couldn't quite locate where they were.

Suddenly, a light was flickered on. In front of me stood Mateo and his men, with an empty chair in front of the one I was in.

I stared at Mateo, waiting for him to say something.

"Since you won't admit you know Vinnie Hacker, my men and I have decided to do things a little... different." He devilishly said, grinning.

Behind me, the door I came in through opened. The lights were shut off once again, making my anxiety spike to an all time high.

Unable to see, all I could notice was the sounds of retaliation and shuffling. After a few seconds, the chair in front of me was occupied with a thud and a click of handcuffs coming together.

The man behind me turned the lights back on, earning a gasp from me.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

"V-vinnie?"
