Staring at Vinnie, I had never seen him looking as lifeless as he did at this moment.

His cheeks were bruised up, swollen. Shakily, he sat there feeble and limp as though someone had run over him. His eyes were bloodshot red, surrounded by various hues of purple and blue.

The look he sported was one no other than fear. To me, and everyone else in his life, Vinnie had always made it seem like he was the tough guy.

When he'd walk into the office, black suit and all, nobody would dare ever to give him backtalk.

Now, seeing him so lifeless, I worried if he'd ever been the same person again. And worse, I'd wonder if we'd make it out of here alive.

"Were you two really under the impression that seducing me was going to work?" Mateo mocked, adding a chuckle in at the end.

Both of us said nothing. All we did was look at each other, connecting our minds, so both of us knew that, no matter what,

Mateo walked around the room inconspicuously, whistling like a complete freak who was about to murder someone (something I most certainly wouldn't put past him.)

Next, he bristly moved over to me, dipping his mouth so that it aligned my ear.

"You know, I find the silent treatment hot." He purred, making my entire body shiver. But, it wasn't a seduced shiver; it was one that entailed complete fear.

By the look in Vinnie's eyes, it was far too easy to tell how full of rage and envy he was becoming.

Please don't make this worse than it has to be, I thought to myself. As much as Vinnie was a tough guy, he also had no sense of control. At any given moment, he could try and fight Mateo without even thinking of the repercussions.

Mateo knew well by now that Vinnie and I were... much too familiar with one another to claim we're not.

"Good, at least something can get you hard," I muttered, my comment warranting a slap across my cheek.

I groaned in pain but quickly got myself back together when I noticed Mateo's eyes were now trailing over to Vinnie, whose eyes were dead set on mine.

Taking his hand, Mateo stroked my hair, beginning to leave wet kisses down my neck.

I squirmed like a little girl, trying to get him off of me. He chuckled, beginning to bite the skin on my neck harshly.

Tears began forming in my eyes, and I realized there was no possible way to stop this even if I tried. My eyes locked with Vinnie's, his looking apologetic for what I was being forced into at the moment.

"Get your dirty fucking mouth off of my girlfriend." Vinnie spit, causing Mateo's head to turn away from my neck.

I sighed in relief, attempting to rub the pain away but couldn't because of the handcuffs.

He walked over to Vinnie slowly, rubbing his stubble with a grimacing look. Vinnie stared him down, adjusting himself in his seat. I didn't want to look anymore, but I knew I couldn't give up on Vinnie just yet.

"Your girlfriend, huh?" Mateo questioned, running his hands through his hair. He looked as though he just got a one hundred on a final exam, as he had succeeded in every way possible.

I wish Vinnie hadn't said that. But, who was I kidding? At this point, Mateo knew it well that Vinnie and I were acquainted with one another.

"Yes, my fucking girlfriend. Keep your dirty self away from her or pay the price." Vinnie spits before, abruptly, getting punched in the face.

Wincing, I shielded my eyes in the corner of my shoulder. Seeing Vinnie hurt in any way, shape, or form was enough to make me want to throw up.

Mateo and his men huddled around Vinnie; each taking turns to punch and kick various parts of his body.

Vinnie tried his best to keep his pain inside but failed after he groaned in pain. The men laughed, walking away once they knew they succeeded in hurting him.

"As for you... Luna," Mateo said, walking towards me, his hand landing on my thigh.

I turned my head away from his, making it clear I didn't want any part of him.

"Tell Vinnie you don't love him anymore." He said, staring daggers into my soul.

Putting my head down, I tried to hide the fact that I was about to burst into tears. How could I tell the love of my life that I didn't love him?

The only thing heard in this dim-lighted, cold room was my sniffles. It was obvious that everyone was waiting for me to say it.

I looked up, my eyes immediately fitting Vinnie's. If I thought before that he couldn't look more defeated, I was dead wrong.

My vision was extremely blurred, and my head was spinning like a rollercoaster that would never come to an end. Every part of me wanted to run to his arms, but I knew that it would result in the worst for both of us if I did.

I let my head fall over my back, tears now rolling onto the floor. "I-" I began, choking completely on any words I thought I had to say.

I couldn't do it.

There was no possible way I'd be able to say those words when I knew damn well that it's the farthest from how I feel.

"Cat got your tongue?" Mateo boasted, stroking my cheek. I winced away, causing him to roll his eyes.

Vinnie scoffed, turning his head away from the moment Mateo was trying to create.

I felt as though I was trapped in an endless loop terror. When I was to get out of it I'd truly never know.

"I'm not going to say it." I spit, shooting Mateo a grimacing look.

He chuckled, walking out of the room, his men following behind him. The silence Vinnie and I were left in was excruciating, and one of us knew we'd have to break it.

"Luna, you can say it." Vinnie said, his voice feeble.

I sighed. "I won't... I can't."

Looking around, Vinnie got up quickly, coming over to me. He, unlike me, wasn't handcuffed to the chair.

He dipped his head to the level of mine, connecting his lips with mine. I smiled, feeling the same warmth I've been craving for too long.

"It's always going to be you and me." He said, kissing me one last time before returning to his chair.

Almost immediately after, Mateo and his men walked back in. Clapping, he added in a few menacing chuckles. I rolled my eyes, taking my eyes off of him and back onto Vinnie.

"What a nice little show you two put on for us... really, really, romantic." Mateo said, punching Vinnie straight in the stomach.

I winced, wishing I was back at the moment I had been in just a few minutes go.

"Just because you're salty about our love doesn't mean you have to be a complete douche bag about it." I sneered, kicking him away from me as he attempted to walk towards me.

He growled, coming behind me and pulling me by hair. I whimpered, suddenly feeling his lips on mine.

I squeezed my eyes shut, rocking the chair around with my body as I tried to get his grasp off of me.

"Get " Vinnie yelled, getting up from his chair only to be tackled down by Mateo's men.

Mateo gripped his hand onto my thigh, squeezing hard while his other hand landed on my chest. In my entire life, I had never felt so violated as I did in this moment.

There was no way to get him off of me, no matter how hard I tried.

Opening my eyes, I watched as Vinnie's face was splattered in his own blood. His face was now bruised more than before, his eyes completely black and blue.

"!" I screamed, kicking Mateo in his area so I could see Vinnie.

I tried tirelessly to break from free the chair, but it proved useless when Mateo added two more handcuffs to both of my ankles.

He leaned in close, whispering, "watch him suffer."

It felt like I was in my own personal hell. To think just a few weeks ago I was living a decent life with my best friend seems like a hallucination to me.

Now, I've been kidnapped by a dangerous mafia man who probably will kill both me and the love of my life.

Mateo held my head straight, disabling me from the ability to move my head.

His grip was tight enough to pop my head off. I felt as though I was minutes away from passing out.

"Let's make this a little more... interesting." Mateo said, smirking at his men. He let go of my face, moving himself so he was standing directly in front of me.

He gestured his hand out to one of his men. Seconds later, a gun was placed into it.

I stared at it, feeling my bones begin to shake uncontrollably. I felt defeated, like this was the end. Mateo moved closer to me, un-cuffing the handcuffs on my hands.

Next thing I knew, the gun was in my hands.

Mateo dipped his face down to the level of mine, a devilish grin spreading on his face.

"Kill him."
