She held out her hand and gave me a friendly grin. "Nice to meet you." She said.
"I'm Avatar Korra"
*******************
I stood there for a second and shook her hand before I processed what this woman had said.
"Wait......Avatar!?" I exclaimed.
She chuckled. "I've been waiting for your arrival," she says putting her hands on her hips.
I took notice of how muscular she was.
Dang, I want to look like that.
"Waiting for me?" I asked. Then it hit me, "WAIT! Are you going to train me!?" My eye sparkled. I could finally learn what being the avatar means!
"You'll be the best avatar around with me teaching ya!" she says in a confident tone.
I grabbed my head in disbelief. "This is incredible! Thank the gods I don't have to do this alone." I exclaimed.
I looked back up to Korra, "When do we start! What cool moves can you teach me!" I asked.
"Easy there, since you haven't had a proper mentor before I'll need to see what you are capable of first." She says and gestures me to demonstrate.
"Oh of course," I say as if I knew. I didn't.
I turned to my right and threw a few rocks. Making the stance was a little difficult but that's how I was told.
I stood straight and blasted fire from my hands. It was a little tiring because of the amount of energy it took.
I jumped with a blast of air. It's all I really know how to do.
I looked around and saw a small pond. I brought water and moved it around a bit.
I robbed it and turned back to Korra waiting for her feedback.

"Ah....ok." She said in a tone that said, "I thought so.."
"Well because of your lack of proper training, your movements are stiff. It will be really hard to fight like that." She says.
"Oh okay. Well, I'm open to whatever you need to teach! I have two weeks before my school's sports festival.." I say with a smile.
Korra seemed to give me an endearing smile as if I reminded her of someone.
"Let's get started then!" She says punching her fist.
********
"Let's try it again," Korra says taking a step back.
She was going element by element with me. Right now she told me I need to start with my easiest element. So we went over earth.
I took a simpler stance that didn't take as much energy as the original one did. I was able to move better and used the earth as an extension of my kick and punch. She told me the extension part.
"Nice!" she says. I gave a wide smile.
"Now let's go over some of the moves I use on the regular."
*********************
That's so much easier!
"This is incredible! It's so much easier to bend earth now!" I say.
I looked at Korra, "Can we go over the other elements now-"
I was interrupted by my phone going off.
Korra jumped in surprise as I pulled my phone out.
"Oh jeez.." I say. It was my alarm to wake up.
"What is that?" Korra chimed up looking at my phone curiously.
"It's my phone," I say without any real explanation.
I didn't feel like long but time had passed fast.
"Maybe I should go eat something," I mumble.

The school had given us two weeks off to train so I don't really need to worry about school.
"I'll be back Ms. Korra!" I say as I run back through the portal.
I headed back into my house and made a quick meal.
I texted Katsuki.
*************
Me: Good morning Combustion Boi!
********
It was like, 6 so I didn't really expect him to-
DING!
*******
Combustion Boi: Told you to stop calling me that.
Me: I like it!
Me: What do you have planned for your training?
Combustion Boi: I'm going to the cities in UA. Not like I need training anyway.
Combustion Boi: You just gonna stay home and be a loser?
Me: I'm just gonna train at home. I'm gonna wipe the floor with you!
Combustion Boi: HA! Like your little water quirk can beat me!
Me: We'll just have to see about that.
********
I put my phone down and quickly finished my food.
I felt the excitement bubble in my chest.
I'm getting proper training.
I'm gonna surprise everyone and I can't wait.
After I ate, I left a note to my parents. Saying I found a training spot and I'll be out for the day.
I went back to the portal with a small bag of snacks if I need them.
Let's start this training!
***************
***************
Korra had taught me how to move better with fire and water. I still needed more training but it was a definite improvement on my bending thought.
Air was so difficult for me to get. I was only able to make a short burst of air at a time.
So Korra went through the basics of airbending with me.
The whole process was tiring but I was determined to learn and make sure I deserve the Avatar title.
I was taking a little break to catch my breath. I was hyped though.
I was tired which meant I was actually learning something.
"You're a fast learner," Korra says, "I can't really say the same for me. Air was impossible for me for a while." She scratched the back of her head.
"We fixed my basic training, could we go over some like, special moves?" I asked. It was reaching the end of the two-week period and I wanted to learn something that will "wow" everyone.
She thinks for a bit then her eyes light up as she remembered something.
"Let's see if you can metal bend!" She exclaimed.
"That's a thing!" I jumped up, " I thought it was only four!"
"There are plenty of subelements you can learn but we'll go over metal since I was the first Avatar to bend metal." She says in a confident tone.
"That's incredible!" I say.
Korra told me to go find something metal in the physical realm and I brought back a little box I used to keep my pencils in, now it only collected dust.
She walked me through how I needed to focus on the earth in the metal.
I focused and...
It bent.
