both ji-hyo and i kept silent even after a few minutes past since dahyun went inside back.

she looks like she wants to leave here as soon as possible because of the awkward atmosphere.

but this is the perfect time and i can't waste it.

"so ji-hyo, it seems like you're pretty close with miss park." i started the conversation, breaking the silence.

she looked at me and said, "yes, but you seem to be pretty close to her as well."

"yeah, we went to the same college. we're very close."

very close, my ass. if chaeyoung heard this, she also might kick me in the ass.

"ah, i see.."

"it seems like she trusts you a lot. i see you guys talking often."

"i mean, it's not often.."

"oh, really?"

and the awkward silence came back again. 

hmm, i think i don't need to push too much to find out more. but i'll just see if she bites.

"well, i hope you try to help her as best as you can since it's been hard for her lately." i said, making up a story as if i knew everything.

"do you know, too?" she asked.

i looked at her, she seemed to believe my words. at this point, she definitely knew something that i don't.

"what the? she told you, too?" i played.

"no, it's nothing like that. i just ran into her at the obgyn."

"i see!"

obgyn? why would she went there?

"is it you, mr. lee?" she asked.

"hm? am i what?"

"are you miss park's boyfriend?"

"what?? no, i'm not." i baffled. 

"i mean she relied on me a lot since school, but we don't have that kind of relationship." i added since she looked a bit curious.

"ah, okay."

"then the baby's father..hm..then do you know who she's seeing right now?" she suddenly asked.

wait, what? i froze.

did she just mention baby's father?

"of course, i do! i told you the two of us are close. we don't have any secrets from each other." i laughed. 

"then she must be getting married soon." she said, looking a bit sad.

"huh? uh, yeah, i suppose."

obgyn? and the baby's father?

i covered my mouth, suppressing myself from laughing loudly.

oh, park chaeyoung. have you gone and gotten yourself knocked up?

"oh, there's dahyun! mr. lee, please don't talk about this in front of dahyun. if she finds out, it'll just spread like wildfire." ji-hyo suddenly said.

"okay!" i smiled sweetly.

after that, three of us walked together towards the restaurant to eat spicy rice cakes, keeping my promise.

"huh? why is it closed? it shouldn't be closed at this time. why have they closed all the blinds?" dahyun asked.

"maybe they're remodeling." ji-hyo said.

"this place is really good though. let's go somewhere else." she said, dissapointed.

"i guess."

"um..what is all this?" i asked jungkook, looking at all the dishes on the table in front of me.

i thought we just want to eat spicy rice cakes?

but what are these ramyeon, fried chicken, gimbap and more doing here?

"i heard you like spicy rice cakes, so.." jungkook said.

"but how are we going to finish all of this? why aren't there any other customers? please don't tell me you rented this entire place out?" i asked.

"i did."

why did i even asked on the first place? this sort of thing really makes me uncomfortable. how did he find out that i like spicy rice cakes anyway?

i sighed, looking at the spicy rice cakes that i've been wanting in front of me.

i gulped, it's looking so delicious.

i do like spicy rice cakes, but..

whatever!

i immediately took the chopsticks and took a bite.

so yummy!

"if you're unhappy about something, just come out and say." said jungkook after seeing me chomped harshly on the rice cakes earlier.

"what's there to be unhappy about with someone who rented out an entire restaurant?" i said sarcastically.

"then why does it feel like you're using those chopsticks to stab me?" 

"you're just imagining things."

"i don't think so. just tell me what's wrong." he said.

i stopped eating and put down the chopsticks.

he still don't get it?

"i'm only saying this because you keep on asking. but you can't rent out entire places like this in the future. there's no need to show off how wealthy you are to the point of inconveniencing others. this is a place where a lot of my students come, so how sad would it be for those students to not be able to come here to buy food? of course, you weren't really thinking about that were you, mr. vice president?" i scolded him, hopefully he can realize how big his doings is.

"hm..it's not that i didn't think of it. but i wanted to buy the spicy rice cakes from here for you." jungkook said.

huh?

"i was told this place's spicy rice cakes were the best.." he added.

i looked at him. what the..what is with him today? he's making my heart flutter. maybe, he's a better person than i thought?

"so if you don't like me doing these things, make a decision. then we can just be open and meet more freely." he suddenly said. of course that's what he's after.

it's like he had this 'back to business' mode.

i continued eating.

his goal is just to create a happy family for doo-jool, which would involve marriage in order to achieve.

never mind, as long as this spicy rice cakes are delicious, i can forget about the marriage for a while.
