Asahi Azumane x Reader
"Hello everyone, my name is (L/N) (Y/N). I hope we can all get to know eachother!" You introduced yourself to your new class. You decided to transfer to Karasuno after a lot of time considering it at your old school.
You bowed and took a seat that your teacher pointed you to. It was near the back of the room. As you made it to your seat you noticed a guy sitting in the back. He had on a bit of a different uniform than the rest of the students. But, his features stood out to you the most.
"He has a beard!? Was he held back a year or something?" You thought. He had long hair that was pulled into a bun and was looking down at a paper somewhat angrily.
"Is he some sort of delinquent? He looks like he's going go beat someone up!" You took your seat and tried your best to forget about the guy behind you.
At the end of class you were packing up your stuff to go eat lunch. You had a few friends from middle school at Karasuno that you kept in contact with. You didn't feel so alone just yet.
"Excuse me." A deep voice caught your attention as the person tapped on your shoulder.
It was the delinquent guy from earlier. Looking at him now, there was another feature you hadn't noticed in your quick glance earlier, his arms. More specifically, he had muscle. His voice even sounded like an adult's.
"You left this on your desk." He handed you a book that you got in class for the English assignment. He gave you a small smile.
"Th-thank you." You took the book and practically ran off. You didn't want to talk to long to him in fear he would drag you with his other delinquent friends.

Asahi stood there confused, wondering what he did to already scare the new girl.
"I don't know his name, but he definitely looked like he was in a gang!" You told your friends at lunch.
"Oh- are you talking about Matsuoka-san? He was held back a year for missing too many school days, and people say they saw him beating up people outside of school!" (F/N/1) asked.
"Oh yeah, him! He has brown hair and he's really tall. Could it be him?" (F/N/2) added.
"Definitely him." You nodded.
"I'd stay away from him then. He's super manipulative and could probably pull you into some bad things." (F/N/1) said.
"Thanks, I'll do that." You replied.
"Oh hey, do you want to come with us to watch the volleyball club play after school?" (F/N/2) quickly changed the topic.
"The volleyball club?" You questioned.
"The boys volleyball club, specfically. They're really good, and the guys are pretty cute." (F/N/1) advertised the idea.
"I guess I can go watch it with you guys, it sounds interesting." You shrugged.
"Great! It's so much fun, you won't regret it!" (F/N/1) cheered that you were going.
You decided that later that day you three were meeting outside the volleyball gym, which was apparantly the one you sat near during lunch. You ended up there first, so you awkwardly waited outside for your other friends to arrive.
You noticed some guys walking in, specfically the odd ones. Two first year looking boys ran into the gym, one being short with orange hair and the other tall with black hair. Then there was a bald guy who flirted a bit with you before going in. Then there was "the delinquent" the guy with long brown hair. You tensed as he approached the gym but then began approaching you.

"Hi, did you come to watch?" He asked. You simply nodded, but a bit to quickly. He seemed a bit startled by your snapiness.
"Thats nice. I guess I'll see you soon!" He gave you a soft smile and then walked into the gym. You felt your hands shaking a bit.
This adult delinquent guy was in the volleyball club? You didn't think that students like that were allowed to join sports.
(F/N)/1) ran up to you, "Hey, (Y/N)! You got here early. (F/N/2) probably won't be here for a bit. She has to do some class rep. stuff before coming."
"That delinquent guy is here!" You whisper yelled.
"What? Where?" They looked around.
"In there." You gestured behind you, towards the gym entrance. (F/N/1) peaked their head inside.
"I don't see.... Wait, do you mean that guy?" They shamelessly pointed towards the person inside. You took a quick peak, she was pointing at the "delinquent".
"Yes!" You nodded. They started laughing.
Meanwhile, Asahi was inside freaking out just a bit. First people were pointing and staring at him, now one of the people staring was laughing.
"Is there something on my face? Or on my clothes?" He asked Daichi.
"You're fine, they're probably not laughing at you." Daichi tried being reassuring.
"That's not a delinquent, (Y/N)! It's only Azumane!" (F/N/1) managed to tell you.
"But he has the same description as the other guy!" You exclaimed.
"Azumane isn't that scary! He's really nice and calm. He's a normal 3rd year!" (F/N/1) continhed laughing.
"Whats going on?" (F/N/2) decided to show up.
"(Y/N) thought Asahi was a delinquent!" Now both of them were laughing at you and getting weird glances from other volleyball bois as they walked inside.
"Stop laughing!" You huffed. They didn't.
"I'm going to go apologize to Azumane. Thanks for all your help on my first day." You said sarcastically and walked back over to the gym.
"Um- Azumane-san, can I talk go you for a minute?" You asked the tall brunette. He nodded and followed you out the other side of the gym.
Asahi's eyes were darting everywhere, trying not to look at Daichi or Suga's suggestive looks towards him or Noya doing the same.
"I-is there something wrong?" He asked.
"No, I want to apologize for today. I assumed you were a delinquent, sorry." You explained.
He had a bit of a panicked expression on and waved his arms a bit, "D-don't worry about it! I get it a lot anyways."
"Good luck at practice! My friends and I will be watching!" You tried to not awkwardly end the conversation and then ran back to your friends. Even though your good luck was supposed to be calming, it put his nerves on edge and made him shake even more.
"Ooh, does Asahi have a love interest~" Suga teased.
"I-it's n-n-not like that! She was only a-apologizing!" Asahi shook his head frantically.
"Did a girl confess to Azumane-senpai! Is that why his face is all red!" Hinata now asked.
"N-No!" Asahi's voice cracked at the response, making most of his teammates start laughing.
"I wonder what they're laughing about." (F/N/1) peaked his/her head into the gym.
You shrugged and (F/N/2) said, "Who knows."

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
