Daichi Sawamura x Male! Reader
Your group of friends cheered as the Karasuno girls soccer team scored another point. Two of your friends had girlfriends on the team, so at most of their games the whole friend group very loudly cheered on the team.
"27 is still super hot, right (Y/N)?" (F/N) asked.
"Uh- sure." You awkwardly replied.
"Oh sorry, dude. I forgot that..." They awkwardly said.
"You're fine, don't worry about." You rolled your eyes and turned your attention back to the game.
You were one of the few gay guys in your group, and by few you really meant the second one. The other guy was a cute first year named Kaido. Dating him had always been out of the question, you were in your third year at Karasuno and already had a boyfriend for the past 2 years. Daichi Sawamura, the wonderful captain of the boys volleyball team.
"Damn, soccer girls have some thick thighs." You heard someone comment.
You were a bit grossed out by the comment, the person who said it obviously didn't know the girls, but you couldn't help but think, "Daichi's are thicker."
Speak of the devil, Daichi started texting you as you thought about him. You were pretty sure the game was almost done, and you could just quickly go to walk with Daichi back from him volleyball practice. Sometimes you couldn't make it to his Saturday practices because you were busy with the bois, but you always tried to walk him home.
Daichi 💖💗
I just got done with practice
I'll be out in a few minutes
I thought practice ended at 6
It always ends at 5
If you cant make it thats fine
I'll walk home on my own
No

Give ne a minute
*me
You quickly got up, apologizing as you pushed passed some people to get to the end of the row.
"Hey, where are you going?" (F/N) called.
"Volleyball!" You quickly said then ran out of the school soccer field as quickly as you can. The volleyball gym was half way across campus, the soccer field was pretty far back from the school.
You practically sprinted towards the school building then quickly made it to the volleyball gym where you proceeded to die from all the running you just did. You coughed and wheezed at the side of the building for a bit until a worried looking Asahi popped his head out from the gym.
"(Y/N), are you okay?" He asked.
"Yup- just fine!" You gave him a thumbs up.
"Is Daichi still here?" You asked.
"Yeah, he's changing. He's pretty scary right now, I don't think he's happy." Asahi replied.
"I guess the walk home will be fun." You gave a nervous smile.
"I have to get back to cleaning the gym. Good luck." Asahi went back to the gym.

The first years, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi walked past you. You didn't like Tsukishima very much, Yamaguchi was pretty nice. You liked the other two first years a lot better. Usually they would be out before Daichi but this time you saw him walking down the stairs. He looked a bit angry.
"Hey Daichi, told you I'd be here on time." You smiled towards your boyfriend.
"You ran here, didn't you." He looked a bit annoyed.
"Yeah, but I needed the exercise. Come on, lets get going. I didn't run all the way here just to not walk you home." You put an arm around his waist. He seemed to be a bit uncomfortable, but you decided not to say anything until you two were pretty far from Karasuno.
"Hey, is something wrong?" You asked, removing your arm from around him.
"Its nothing." He shook his head.
"I thought we talked about communication. We're telling eachother whats wrong from now on, right." You said.
Daichi and you had a fight several months ago about how you weren't telling him stuff. You were actually nervous about talking to him, since you wanted to talk about him meeting your parents. But, the fight got pretty serious, and you both agreed that you needed to tell eachother when stuff was wrong.
"You're spending a lot of time with your friends lately. There's nothing wrong with that at all, I just don't feel we're spending enough time together anymore." Daichi said.
"Well what else do you want to do together. We spend almost every night of the week together." You asked.
"We don't do anyhing together though. Thats what bothers me. It always too late to go out when you come over because you spent all day with your friends. We could have done something together today, hut you needed to spend all day doing stuff with your friends." He suddenly burst out.
"Why didn't you tell me about this before, we could've have gone out and done something any day this week. And why are my friends always the problem here? They've done nothing wrong here." You replied, a bit annoyed that he was blaming this on your friends.
"I know its selfish. I just don't feel like we're spending the time together that we used to..." He trailed off, like he was going to say more.
"Do you feel like I don't love you anymore?" You asked. He didn't look you in the eyes, but you saw the slight nod of his.
You sucked in a breath. It hurt, it hurt a lot knowing that Daichi didn't think you loved him. When you started dating him you wanted to spoil him in basically anyway you could. He quickly said no to you buying him stuff, but you stilled showered him in affection.
"What happened to that?" You wondered, realizing you hadn't been doing that anymore.
"I think we need to take some time away from eachother." He said, fear spread throughout your body as he said those words. You hoped it wouldn't ever come to this yet here you were.

"We need time to both think. Its only reasonable. I'll- I'll see you tomorrow, (Y/N)." He said and turned away to walk home on his own.
You stayed frozen in your place, still taking in the words Daichi said. You felt bad, terrible, guilt overcoming you for not realizing that you weren't giving him as much attention as before.
"I need to fix this. I have to." You thought and began on your own way home.

You did like Daichi asked, leaving him alone for a few days. Classmates quickly began to notice you not practically glued to your boyfriend's side and the volleyball team noticed that for those several days you weren't at all coming to watch practice or walk home with Daichi afterwards.
"Did something happen with you and (Y/N)-Senpai, Daichi-San?" Hinata asked the captain without a second thought. He got some harsh glares from the other third years.
"Its nothing to worry about." Daichi replied with his usual smile. Although, the others definitely knew something was up.
Then, you started showing up again. Without fail, you were at every practice, congratulating team members on doing well, talking to the guys during breaks, and especially praising Daichi for doing well. You still respected his wishes of distance and didn't go further than putting an arm around his shoulder.
Once again it was a Saturday, two weeks after you two decided to take a break. This was the first practice you missed since you started coming daily. Suga could see the almost unnoticeable look of sadness on his face that you weren't there but everything continued as usual. Practice lasted until sundown.
"I'm gonna' beat you to the club room!" Hinata basically flew up the stairs.
"Dumbass, you cheated!" Kageyama yelled after him as he ran equally as fast up the stairs.
"Good job today, Asahi. Your serves are getting better." Daichi told his friend, giving him a somewhat firm slap on the back. Asahi stumbled slightly at the force.
"Thanks, Daichi-san. Good job today too." He responded.
"Daichi! Azumane! Hey!" Both of them turned towards the person calling their names. You were nearing the gym.
Asahi could almost feel Daichi stiffen up a bit, despite them standing apart.
"Hi (Y/N)." He replied.
"Hi." Daichi said. Despite the lacklustre response fron Daichi your bright smile didn't falter.
"I'm not too late am I? My (parent) wouldn't let me leave the house 'till I got all my homework done. I rushed it a bit to get here in time." You explained.
"No, we just finished actually. I should go get changed. I'll talk to you two later!" Asahi quickly left the awkward situation to get to the club room.
"What happened to hanging out with your friends. Don't you do that everyday Saturday?" Daichi said, a bit passive aggressively.
"I went to enough girl's soccer games than I need to. I want to walk you home too. I don't want anything to happen to you if you're walking home in the dark." You said.
He seemed to lighten up a little bit, "I'll be out in a few minutes."
"I'll be waiting here!" You leaned your back again the gym building wall.
"I hope that went well." You thought to yourself. As usual, Daichi only took a few minutes to change and walk back out.
You gave him another big smile as he walked out and began leading the way back to his house. You had to walk a bit faster to match his pace.
"He doesn't seen very happy, I hope I haven't messed anything up too bad." You thought, a bit nervous.
"So, how did practice go today?" You asked. Your arm instinctively went to wrap around his waist, but you jolted it back to your side once you remembered that he wouldn't be too happy by you doing that.
"It was fine. We're preparing for the upcoming summer training camp in Tokyo. It's amazing that we get to go." He replied like he normally would. It brought a smile yo your face that things weren't so tense.
"It must be! Just stay away from Kuroo, I don't like how much that guy flirts with you." You said.
You paused when you realized what ypu said, "Uh- sorry about that. I didn't..."
"I forgive you, (Y/N)." He interrupted.
"R-really?" You asked.
He stopped walking and you stopped soon after. You two were at a sidewalk that lead into his neighborhood, no one was else was around, the only sound was the sound of bugs beginning to chirp as the sky grew dark.
"I want to apologize too. I was also in the wrong for blaming this on you spending time with your friends. You can hang out with your friends all you want, I'm sorry for ever trying to stop you. But, I feel like you're trying to fix what I mentioned, so I forgive you." He explained.
"And it feels empty not having you next to me." He quietly added.
"I'm sorry too for not paying enough attention to you for so long. I love you, I always do, even during times I'm not so great at showing it." You pulled him close and rested your forehead against his..
"You're always great at showing it." He said. Daichi leaned slightly forehead to gently peck your lips. You kissed back, keeping him for longer before pulling away. You two ended up making out on the sidewalk a bit before continuing to walk home.
"I love you, Daichi." You rested your head on his shoulder.
"I love you too, (Y/N)." He ran a hand through your hair.
