Madeline's POV- December 2017

After a long day, I wanted to go home, eat and relax. Cody sent me a text telling me not to worry about food because he had gone out to get food before Kasperi left. We had the place to ourselves until Saturday night. That did not mean that Cody and I were going to spend the entire 2 days having sex. I was actually going to show Cody the Toronto he had yet to see. To my surprise, the place was dark. Closing and locking the door, I smiled as I heard the light jingle on Poppy's bell.

"Hi boy" I greeted.

He rubbed himself against my legs before following me into the living room where Cody was watching Grease Live!

"You're back!"

I smiled and set my purse on the coffee table before taking a seat next to him.

"How was class?"

"I got my midterm back" I replied.

He hummed.

"How'd you do?"

"I got an 91" I answered.

"That's still an A, right?"

I nodded.

"Nice, see your hard work paid off"

He put his arm around my shoulder and leaned closer to kiss my cheek.

"Let me get you your food"

He pecked my lips before getting up. As he left, I turned my attention to the TV.

"What did you get to eat?" I asked as he turned on the kitchen lights.

"I wanted Thai food, and Kap wanted Sushi so we got both"

"You two are the best because that's exactly what I've been craving," I told him.

I stood up and made my way over to the kitchen counter.

"Besides eating, what did you do after I left?" I questioned.

"I hung out with Poppy and went to get more coffee"

"You're the best" I stated.

He grinned and handed me my chopsticks.

"I know I am"

I watched as he placed the box with sushi in front of me, and then opened the other box before putting it in the microwave.

"We should go on a date tomorrow"

"We should" I agreed.

"Preferably a place that has steak"

I smiled.

"I'll text William," I told him.

He nodded and turned his attention to Poppy who walked into the living room.

"Ready for round 3, pops?"

Poppy made his way over to Cody and set the small ball next to Cody's sock-clad foot.

"He really loves playing catch"

I smiled and watched as Poppy bolted towards the direction Cody tossed the ball.

"Yeah, he plays until he tires himself out" I stated.

Cody nodded.

"He woke up from his nap like 15 minutes ago"

"Did he eat already?" I wondered.

"Yup, I filled his bowl with food and changed up his water"

I took a seat and began to dig into the sushi.

"I can tell why you like it here"

He smiled when I looked at him.

"It just sucks that you're far"

"We've made it work" I noted.

"And we will continue to make it work, but what if you get a job offering here?"

There was a chance that could happen.

"We will discuss this when the time comes" I stated.

"We?"

I nodded.

"Of course, I hope you're still in my life in a year and a half" I replied.

That brought a smile to his face.

"Really?"

"Of course" I answered.

"So you see a future with me?"

"Yeah" I responded.

I shrugged as I felt my cheeks begin to heat up.

"We haven't been dating that long, and as crazy as it sounds I do see myself settling down with you" I stated.

He shook his head and stepped forward.

"That is not crazy"

"It's not?" I asked.

"No, because I hope to marry you someday"

Now it was his turn for his cheeks to turn pink.

"I want to marry you, have children, and grow old together...in that order"

He smiled and shrugged.

"In the meantime, we have Poppy"

I laughed.

"That's true" I said agreeing.

"So I'll bring up this marriage question in like 2 years"

"That sounds good" I found myself saying.
