Madeline's POV- September 2017
My phone chimed just as I pulled into the airport.
"Message from Cody Bellinger"
Before the message could be read, I got a call.
"Incoming call from Cody Bellinger"
I pressed the answer button on the steering wheel.
"Hello" I greeted.
"Hey babe"
There was a slight pause, followed by a chuckle.
"So my flight got in early? And I literally just got my suitcase"
"I'm driving towards the terminal now" I told him.
"No worries, take your time. Should I go outside?"
"Are you wearing a jacket?" I questioned.
"Yes mam"
I rolled my eyes.
"It's pretty cold outside, so I'll tell you when to come out" I stated.
"Alright, let me know"
There was light chatter coming from Cody's side of the line, probably due to the fact that he was in a busy airport.
"You can come out now," I said.
"Going"
I pulled up to the terminal and parked my car. Shutting off the car, I quickly got out of the car. As I made my way around, I spotted Cody making his way over. He smiled when he noticed me, and quickened his pace.
"You're here" I told him.
He chuckled and pulled me into a bear hug.
"I am"
I closed my eyes as he kissed my forehead, cheek, and finally my lips.
"God I missed you"
Opening my eyes, I couldn't help but grin up at him.
"Come on, let's put my suitcase in the back and get inside the car. It's cold out here"
As he put his suitcase in the back, I made my way back to the driver's side. Just as I was putting on my seatbelt, the passenger door opened and Cody took a seat next to me.
"You changed your body wash"

I glanced at him and nodded as I turned on the car.
"Yeah, I can't seem to find the one I use here. Don't you worry, I'm planning on stocking up during my trip home" I noted.
He grinned and leaned over.
"If I weren't so exhausted we'd be breaking in that bed of yours tonight"
I laughed.
"I have roommates" I pointed out.
"Who also had a game today, they're probably dead asleep by now"
He then proceeded to try to nibble on my ear.
"Cody, control yourself" I joked.
"I haven't seen you in a month, I can't help myself"
I smiled as he took my hand and kissed my knuckles.
"How early do you have to be up tomorrow?"
"I have half-hour sessions with 3 students tomorrow, all back to back; starting at 9:30" I answered.
"So you'll be back at around 11?"
I nodded.
"I'll make breakfast," I told him.
"French toast?"
"Maybe" I replied.
His pout was cut short by a yawn.
"I don't live too far, try not to fall asleep," I said.
"No promises"
He looked out the window and glanced up at the city lights as I pulled out of the airport.
"Message from William Nylander"
A robotic voice then proceeded to read out the text,
"Message from Kasperi Kapanen"
I smiled as Cody chuckled as the emojis were read in the text. The drive home was quick, partially due to the fact that it was a Sunday night. The living room light was on when Cody and I walked into the condo.
"I'll show you around tomorrow?" I suggested.
"Yes please"
I shut off the living room lights and led him up the stairs. He grinned when he saw Poppy waiting at the top of the stairs. Once we were at the top, he bent down a bit and picked Poppy up

"I missed you too little man"
And Poppy missed him too, the loud purring gave it away. His two front paws were affectionately holding to Cody's face. I opened the door to my room and turned on the lights as I walked in.
"Make yourself comfortable, I still need to shower," I told him.
Cody nodded and looked down at Poppy who he was still holding.
"I'll go with you, I need to brush my teeth
As I grabbed my PJs, he set Poppy down and opened his suitcase up.
"Right this way" I said.
I led him to the bathroom, and as he brushed his teeth; I began to shower. Starting with my hair, I closed my eyes as I lathered up.
"Cody" I warned when I heard the shower curtains move.
I got no verbal response from him, and instead got a strong kiss on my mouth.
"Let me show you how much I missed you"
I let out a sigh as I felt his hands squeeze my hips, and his mouth began to kiss my jaw. The kisses went down to my neck, and I nodded when his mouth reached my collarbone.
"Did you lock the door?" I asked.
He nodded and froze a bit.
"Fuck"
"What?" I wondered.
"Condoms"
I moved the shower curtain a bit.
"Lucky for you, the guys thought it would be funny to give me this" I said gesturing towards the medicine cabinet.
Cody turned his attention there and grinned when he saw the box of condoms.
"They got the fun ones"
"Pick one" I offered.
He reached for one and grinned.
"Let's have some fun"
I smiled and let him step forward. Water droplets began dripping down his face as he leaned down for a kiss. The shower was certainly longer than expected, but it was worth every second of it.
"Come here, Poppy"
I brushed my hair and watched as Cody lied down on the bed. Poppy immediately hopped up on the bed and curled up against him.
"I gotta say Pop, I love the new collar"
It was a blue collar with a black bow tie.
"Andrea sent it" I mentioned.
Cody glanced up.
"I figured, Binx has one on except the colors are flipped"
Cody's roommate, Chris was dating Andi and she had a black cat named Binx.
"Are you going to bed with wet hair?"
"Yes, now don't you dare judge me. After all, it was your fault" I stated.
He chuckled.
"Excuse me, but it takes two to tango"
I rolled my eyes as I smiled at him.
"If I do say so myself, we tango'd great"
I laughed and shut off the light before lying down next to him.
"Goodnight Cody," I told him.
He pulled me closer to him, and I hugged his torso in order to get comfortable.
"I missed you" I mumbled against his chest.
He hummed.
"I missed you too, so much"
It had been a month since I had seen Cody, and thankfully I would be seeing him a lot this month. The postseason was starting, and I was going to try to make it to a few games.
