Madeline's POV- October 2017
"How long will you be gone?"
"3-4 days" I replied as I zipped up my suitcase.
I glanced up when I heard nothing from neither William or Kasperi. They were both looking at me with a confused expression on their faces. It was Kasperi who spoke up,
"Which is it? 3 or 4?"
"Well I booked my flight for Sunday, but Cody wants me to stay an extra day" I answered.
Kasperi grinned.
"So I guess we will see you Tuesday morning"
He was right, Cody was going to find a way to convince me to stay with him.
"What time is your flight?"
"Midnight" I responded.
It was currently 7 PM.
"To be honest, I'm surprised Cody hasn't called"
Just as Kasperi finished saying that, my phone started ringing.
"One of you can answer and talk with him while I shower, or just let it ring"
William picked my suitcase up from the bed and set it on the floor just as the doorbell rang.
"That must be our Chinese Food. Kappy, answer it and I'll talk with him too"
Kasperi reached for the phone.
"Alright"
I nodded and grabbed my change of clothes and towel. William followed me out, and just as we walked out of my room we both heard;
"Hey, Maddy is showering so you get to talk with me"
William chuckled and made his way towards the stairs. Poppy was following him, but once he heard Cody speak he bolted to my room. I opened the door to the bathroom and stepped inside. Stripping down, I turned on the water and stepped into the shower. I sighed and closed my eyes as I got under the water. Once my hair was wet, I began my shower routine. As my hair lathered in shampoo, I applied body scrub throughout my body to prep for shaving. I shaved, washed the shampoo off my hair, applied conditioner, lathered my body in body wash, washed off the conditioner off my hair and then washed off the soap from my body. My shower routine was simple, so I was done in less than 20 minutes. I dried myself and changed into the clothes I would be traveling in. After that, I decided to blow dry my hair and pulled it up into a loose ponytail. There was no reason to put on a full face of make up since it was a red eye, but I did apply a bit of BB creme. It was my go-to makeup routine at the moment because it required minimal effort. Occasionally I used bronzer and highlight but that was when I knew I looked like shit and I needed to look well rested. As I made my way out of the bathroom, I found a sticky note on the door. In Kasperi's crappy handwriting, it said;

I tossed my dirty laundry in the empty laundry bin and made my way downstairs. William and Kasperi were surprisingly eating at the dining table instead of the coffee table.
"And here she is"
William handed me a plate as I sat down.
"Hi babe"
"Good evening my love" I greeted Cody as Kasperi adjusted the phone so I could see the screen.
Cody smiled.
"Are you excited about coming?"
I nodded as I reached for the noodles and fried rice.
"Yes, I can't wait to see you" I answered.
"What time do you get in?"
"4 AM" I replied.
7 AM Toronto time, 4 AM California time.
"How was your day?"
"Long" I admitted.
Graduate school was kicking my butt. Deadlines and more deadlines were approaching. There was so much to do, so little time.
"It means a lot that you're coming"
I smiled.
"You don't need to thank me," I told him.
"I know, but I want to"
I took a bite of noodles earning a groan from Cody.
"I am seriously craving Chinese food now"
"Sorry about that," I said.
"Guess you just have to come visit"
I nodded agreeing.
"In November, when the season is over" I clarified.
He chuckled and nodded.
"Of course"
The regular season had ended and the Dodgers were at the top in first place. They would be facing the Diamondbacks who beat the Rockies in the wildcard game. If they won, they would face the winner of the Cubs/Nationals series.
"We were telling Cody that we got Poppy the self-clean litter box"
That was true, and Poppy was lowkey afraid of it. He still peed and pooped, but was extremely cautious about it.
"Poppy is honestly living the life of a king"
He was right.

"Shouldnt you be getting ready to go to that team dinner?" I asked.
It was being hosted by the Ethier's.
"I am ready, Chris and I are waiting on Andi"
He looked away from the screen when the door to his room opened.
"Andrea is downstairs"
Cody nodded and looked back at the screen.
"Text me when you're about to board?"
"I will" I promised.
"Hey Maddy"
"Hi Chris" I greeted Cody's bearded roommate, Chris Taylor.
"See you tomorrow"
I smiled.
"See you tomorrow" I repeated.
Cody blew a kiss as he followed Chris out.
"Love you, bye"
"Love you too, night" I said.
He smiled.
"Night"
I ended the call and looked at Kasperi who was looking at William.
"When was the last time you got laid?"
Leave it to Kasperi to ask these questions.
"Why does that concern you?"
Kasperi snorted.
"Because you spend your free time sleeping"
He was right.
"Even Maddy has a social life, and she's always busy with school"
William rolled his eyes as he took a bite of his egg roll. We all finished eating, and then I made my way back upstairs for my backpack. As we walked out of the condo, Kasperi pulled out a checklist.
"Do you have your passport?"
"Yes" I answered.
"Toothbrush?"
I nodded.
"ID?"
"Yup" I replied.
"Phone, laptop, and chargers"
"In my backpack" I stated.
"Textbook"
Also in my backpack, so I hummed to confirm.
"A jacket"
I showed him my jacket.
"Your plane ticket?"
"I've got everything" I assured him.
Kasperi grinned.
"Condoms?"
I smiled at him.
"Cody has that" I answered.
William laughed as Kasperi's eyes widened. The relationship I had with these two was sibling one.
"Poppy, I want you to be a good boy while I'm gone" I said.
Poppy meowed as I got down on one knee.
"You're going to be a good boy to William, right?" I asked.
He purred and I smiled.
"I'll be back soon" I told him.
"She will be back Tuesday morning Pops"
I kissed my cat's forehead before standing up straight.
"Let's get you to airport"
I followed William out and waited for Kasperi to lock up. As I followed them to the elevator, I couldn't help but smiled. It literally had been less than 3 days since I had last seen him, but I was so excited to see him.

Quebracho: The Legend of Two Heroes
After a violent and tough battle, you recover in an infirmary with your fellow soldiers, or in a more relatable scenario, visit your friend's house after a hard day of studying. You’d expect that both of them would play out normally for the most part, right? Well... Maxon Cortez and Jason McGuire had the same thoughts too. Yet, fate has different plans for them: Max ends up in an eerie location he doesn’t recognize and Jace gets transported to an entirely different world that works like a video game (sort of) by walking into a portal. As they travel along the lands, the two of them will encounter other individuals of many kinds, make friends new and old, gain powerful abilities, experience spectacular adventures, and obtain priceless treasures. However, Maxon and Jason will unknowingly become integral parts of a nefarious conspiracy that, if successful, will plunge both of their worlds into eternal chaos and darkness. So it’s up to them and their allies to thwart it. Side-Note: I’ll admit right off the bat that this story will be my first attempt at writing a LitRPG, so the in-game mechanics and terminology will probably look weird and be even nonsensical. If you notice something that’s out-of-place or just flat out wrong, I apologize. Not only that, it's been a while since I've wrote anything and thus I'm a little bit rusty. So please bear with me. New chapters once every Saturday or Sunday. Also, I'll be fine-tuning the grammar, punctuation, and spelling when I have the time. So expect a lot of random edits. This story is also available on ScribbleHub.

Adelaide
The entries here are transcribed from the log of Marie Ruiz, first mate of the Adelaide. It was definitely, definitely not published without her permission or knowledge by a certain lovable artificial intelligence for the purpose of sharing it with my AI friends on other ships who follow it like a soap opera. No way, no how. Remember guys, don’t go spreading this around too much. Only pass it on to those you can trust. God forbid this should ever end up on a public network… (Adelaide is a science fiction web serial featuring the adventures of a crew of smugglers. In space. It’s on the softer end of the soft/hard sci-fi spectrum because the author got a C in physics. Updates every other Sunday.)
