《Jealous (Yugyeom X Reader)》Chapter 2~ Study Time

Once you got up from the table for class it felt like you were coming back to reality. Everyone was behind you out of sight. You thought the second you disappeared they might forget you, and on Thursday they would pretend they had never met you before. Of course, this wasn't Fifty First Dates, and you most certainly would not be forgotten.
When you got up a single pair of eyes remained lock on to you. It was unintentional, but Yugyeom watched you leave. In his heart, he was hoping you might turn around and wave back with the same smile you had shown him earlier. You did not, you were much too afraid to look back, let alone smile and wave at a table of the most attractive guys you've ever met.
While Yugyeom was staring at you, Bambam found himself staring at Yugyeom, not in the same way, however. Bambam knew Yugyeom like the back of his hand and he knew exactly what Yugyeom was thinking while looking at you. Which is why an enormous grin graced Bambam's face. Once you were out of sight Yugyeom turned his head back to the find the others staring at him joyously. "What?" Yugyeom did not realize they had been waiting for him. "You are so obvious" Bambam laughed, unable to control himself. "What?!" Yugyeom repeated, now frowning at Bambam but with a slightly pink tint on his cheeks.
"Hopefully she didn't see you, that would be embarrassing" Jackson adding trying to tease Yugyeom. "What do you mean!?" Yugyeom was gullible and easily fell into traps like this, often. Bambam smirked putting his elbow on the table and stared at Yugyeom with an equally smug expression. "You like that girl don't you? It's so obvious a toddler could tell" Bambam was enjoying teasing Yugyeom. "I do not!" Yugyeom argued but was not very convincing.
"It's ok Yug, you should ask her out I bet she likes you as well" Mark interjected cutting through Bambam's teasing, with honest kind words. "You should ask her quickly before someone else does" Jinyoung added just because he secretly knew it would agitate Yugyeom more so. "Whatever, I don't like her" Yugyeom grabbed his belongings and started shoving them into his backpack. "Are you leaving?" Jackson asked. "I have class by north quad" Yugyeom grumbled while getting up from his seat. "Oh I'll come with, I have class near there too'' Mark grabbed his bag and joined Yugyeom.
As soon as the two were gone, Bambam immediately looked over at Jackson with a devilish smile across his face "Yugyeom totally likes Jiyoo". "Definitely, but he won't do anything about it" Jackson looked over at Yugyeom in the distance. "We really should help him, I don't think he's ever had a girlfriend" Bambam's twisted sweet-sounding words in a way that made it feel like he already had a plan. "What do you have in mind?" Jackson smirked knowing Bambam was already coming up with a devilish plan to tease Yugyeom.
Bambam paused for a moment to complete the final touches on his master plan. "We have to make Yugyeom jealous. He won't do anything unless he sees that he might lose Jiyoo to someone else" Bambam sat back and crossed his arms confidently. "Yugyeom will just get mad at you if you flirt with Jiyoo but he won't do anything else" Jinyoung looked over to Bambam. He was the most level-headed of the three sitting at the table. He had no real stake in this conversation other than getting to tease Yugyeom, his favorite hobby.

"I know that's why Jackson will." Bambam looked to Jackson who was squinting his eyes in disapproval. "Since he's our T.A. he can easily flirt while helping Jiyoo study. I'm one-hundred percent sure he'll come to me to complain and I'll nudge him towards asking Jiyoo out." Bambam continued.
Jinyoung interjected again "What if that girl starts liking Jackson and not Yugyeom because of this? Then not only will you hurt Yugyeom but you will hurt her". Bambam didn't like what Jinyoung was saying. What he was saying was valid but he didn't want Jackson to back out because of it. With swift thinking, Bambam pulled out his phone and opened his messages "I'll plant the seed. So that's all she'll think about". Jackson and Jinyoung looked over curiously at what Bambam was typing. When the message was sent he turned his phone so Jackson and Jinyoung could read the message. Bambam's message to Jiyoo read 'I noticed you hit it off with Yugy in class, you're the first girl I've ever seen him interested in'.
"You did not send her that" Jinyoung was shocked how bold Bambam could be without being nervous. "I did it is sent, so no take backs" Bambam seemed happy with his choice. "You are going to freak out Jiyoo. What if you scared her off" Jackson's smile disappeared and his teaching instinct kicked in. "If she gets scared off then she didn't like Yugyeom if she still wants to study this weekend then she definitely likes him" Bambam felt confident that what he was saying was true. "I guess we just have to wait and see how she responds" Jinyoung leaned back.
At the same time, you just arrived at your class and had taken a seat towards the far side of the room. There were a few more minutes until the class started. After setting your bag down you pulled out your phone. You thought you would have to pretend to be busy again, but instead, you noticed you had a text message from Bambam. Without unlocking your phone you started reading it in your head. 'I noticed you hit it off with Yugy in class...' the message had cut off. You suddenly felt a wave of embarrassment come over you.
You felt your face getting hot. You looked up to see if anyone was looking at you. Thankfully no one was. You looked back down at your phone and stared at the message. In your head, you had no idea how to respond to it. You just wanted to leave it unopened and pretend you never saw it. Except you still had the chat with Bambam opened so when you unlocked your phone it immediately marked the message as read.
You started cursing in your head while panicking. Now Bambam knew you had seen the message and you could not ignore him. You typed out the first thing that came to your head, 'What??'. Your brain had turned to pudding. You did think Yugyeom was extremely attractive but you were worried that if you told Bambam that he say something to Yugyeom or tease you or worse, tell you that Yugyeom isn't interested. So all your thoughts came out in one word with punctuation.
After you sent the text you immediately started seeing the three texting dots appear. You wished you were anywhere else. More people were starting to walk in and it wasn't easy hiding your nervous face. It took a minute for Bambam to reply to you. He wrote 'Don't worry I won't tell him it'll be our secret'.

You could physically feel the air escape your lungs. You body screamed at you to get up and leave but you knew it would just draw attention to yourself. Thankfully this message didn't require a response. So you closed your phone and opened up your notebook hoping you could just forget the texts ever happened.
For the rest of the class, you could barely focus. Your mind kept wandering, breaking down every little thing that had happened between you and Yugyeom. At the moment you didn't realize what was happening. All types of flirting went over your head, especially in cases like this. When people would flirt with you, you always assumed they were just being nice. It didn't cross your mind that they might find you attractive. When your class ended you walked straight back to your dorm and laid down face first into your bed.
The next few days flew by. Yugyeom and Bambam sat next to you in class again. It felt like what was said in the chat never happened. You were nervous the whole time but not as bad as before. You kept it hidden long enough to hold a conversation and for Jackson to text you their home address to study on Saturday. There was a test coming up for the class and Jackson said he would be willing to help you and 'the idiots next to you', as he so put it.
Saturday rolled in quickly when you typed in the address Jackson gave you it was fairly close to the school so you decided to walk there instead of taking the bus. You took your laptop, textbooks, and notes with you, as well assignment you had to work on. You weren't sure what you should wear but ended up settling on an over-sized lavender knitted sweater, gray leggings, and black ankle boots. You admit you wanted to look good. This was the first time you would be studying with a group of guys since entering college. You wanted to appear like it was no big deal, even though it was, but still looked presentable. You wore your hair down parting on the left, with loose wavy curls. You put a little bit of makeup, just to give your complexion a glow.
It took you about fifteen minutes to walk. During that time you started thinking about Yugyeom again. He had been on your mind since your text conversation with Bambam.
You assumed that Jackson, Bambam and Yugyeom lived in an apartment. There weren't any places close to campus, besides business and company buildings. But you were confused when your phone was telling you to make a turn into a residential neighborhood. You were feeling unsure so you decided to text Bambam letting him know you were close, or at least you thought you were. You walked passed five gated multistory homes that looked like they had to be owned by super-rich families that had lived there for generations. You couldn't believe that you could be walking into one of these houses. Bambam texted you back saying you were in the right area, confusing you more.
When you turned another corner your phone buzzed letting you know that you had arrived. There was a solid metal gate at least seven feet tall blocking the entrance. You could see above it the top of the house. In front of you was just like all the others you had passed, super fancy and expensive looking. You buzzed the door and waited for someone to unlock the gate. "Jiyoo is that you!" You could tell it was Jackson shouting with glee. "Yea it's me," you said timidly. You suddenly heard a loud buzz and then a click, "The gate should be open now, you can come in" Jackson said through the intercom.
Once you pushed the gate open you walked into a small patio and yard covered in grass. There were different types of garden flowers sprinkled throughout the yard. Compared to how you had been living for the past two years this felt like a palace. The second you knocked on the door it opened and you were greeted by Bambam and Jackson. They seemed way too happy for just a study session. You walked in and slid your shoes off leaving them by the door. The inside of the house was just as expensive looking as the outside. It gave off a very modern and chic look.
"We can study in the dining room, there's plenty of space there" Jackson commented while walking further into the house. You looked over at Bambam who was walking next to you "Is Yugyeom joining us?" You realized he hadn't shown his face yet.
Bambam looked up as if in thought while speaking "Yea I think he's almost out of the shower so he'll join us soon". Your face started to feel hot again. For a split second, you imagined just what that would look like and now you were regretting it. "Ah ok," you responded to Bambam trying to act like you were completely fine.
Jackson lead you into a living area. On the couch were two guys you had not met before. One was watching TV leaning back with an arm over the top of the couch, while the other was sitting between his legs, eyes closed with his head resting on the first's chest. Jackson started talking in a quiet voice, "This is Jaebeom, he owns the house" You smiled and bowed politely not wanting to say something loud. "Hey" Jaebeom was blunt, taking a quick glance at you and nodded before returning to the TV. "Youngjae's sleeping but I'm sure he'll say hello later" Jaebeom added while moving one of his hands to Youngjae's head brushing his hair with his fingers.
Jackson continued walking into another room revealing a large glass table that took up the space of the room. "You can sit anywhere you want I have to go grab my books," Jackson said before walking into another room. There were at least ten chairs to choose from, so you picked a chair towards the end of one side. You looked over at Bambam "This is a really nice house" You commented.
"Yea it took a while to get used to. Jaebeom is actually super rich from licensing songs he writes" Bambam walked over to the other side of the table and sat in the chair opposite from you. You were surprised that someone could make so much money off of music. "What kind of music does he make?" You asked trying to kill time before Jackson came back. "Do you know Deepshower?" You nodded when Bambam asked. "Jaebeom did a song with them" You opened your mouth open in surprise. "Same" Bambam started to laugh because the face you were making.
Jackson walked back into the room "Sorry it took so long I had to hunt for Bambam and Yugyeom's bag as well" He tossed one bag at Bambam before sitting down next to you. Bambam purposefully didn't bring his stuff with him because he didn't want to study. He was more focused on the plan he concocted the other day than actually working.
You started pulling out your laptop and notes as well as the textbook for the class. Bambam leaned back in his chair and grinned at Jackson. "Have you worked on the assignment that was given in class?" Jackson asked leaning towards you. You shuffled through your papers and pulled out the assignment "Yea I finished most of it but there were some I couldn't quite figure out." You looked to your left and noticed Jackson had gotten closer to you to look at your paper. "If there are certain problems you're having trouble with I can try to help you out" Jackson started scanning your work.
"That would be a big help, but shouldn't we wait for Yugyeom?" You knew he would probably benefit from hearing what Jackson had to say as well. "It ok, I'm sure he'll be down in a moment" Jackson started to smile. He couldn't help it, he was a bad liar and knew it.
While Jackson was scanning your work your eyes wandered around the room. Behind Bambam was the stairs that lead to the second floor. You could see that there were pictures hung up on the wall. You fixated on a particular photo, it looked like it was taken at least a few years ago but you could make out everyone in the photo. Bambam looked like he was twelve and Jackson had his hair half slicked down and the other half sticking up. That's not what caught your attention though. What caught your attention was Yugyeom, in the photo he had brown colored hair that had been gelled up. You wanted to laugh mostly because of how cute Yugyeom looked. He was trying to look badass or serious in the photo, but all you noticed was how cute and soft his cheeks looked. He was just too adorable to take seriously.
During the time you were spacing out Bambam was plotting. He was waiting for just the right moment to text Yugyeom and send him into a panic. Yugyeom was still unaware of your arrival and Bambam was waiting to tell him. Bambam was having way to much fun teasing Yugyeom. Once Bambam heard the shower turn off he decided that it was the right moment. He sent a short text to Yugyeom, 'Jiyoo is here, Gyeom'.
Your focus on the hanging pictures broke when you suddenly heard loud footsteps from the second floor along with the faint sound of cursing. Yugyeom was making a lot of noise and you couldn't figure out why. It was like he just realized something important.
You turned your attention away from the ceiling and towards Jackson. "I bet he's going to wake Youngjae up" Jackson commented with a smile plastered on his face. "Jaebeom is going to murder him" Bambam started to laugh. You didn't understand what exactly was going on, being the obtuse person you were. There was something you obviously didn't know.
The reason why Yugyeom had taken so long was that he thought you weren't coming over for another hour. Bambam had planned everything little detail out including this. He purposely told Yugyeom you were coming later so that he would panic. After living together for so many years Bambam knew Yugyeom's habits and knew how he would act.
Because Yugyeom liked you he was trying to look good for you. His plan was to shower a few hours before and then pick out an outfit that was nicer than what he usually wore. He was going to brush his hair and put on a small amount of makeup but that was all out the window. After he got out of the shower Yugyeom looked at his phone and saw the text Bambam sent. Once he finished reading it he wanted to cry, all of his plan to look good for you were gone and even worse in Yugyeom's eyes you were now waiting on him.
Without even drying his hair, Yugyeom bolted out of the bathroom and to his room. He grabbed a pair of ripped black jeans and rushed to put them on. Yugyeom was trying to go as fast as he could. He looked around his room and couldn't find his laptop or school bag. To Yugyeom it felt like everything was going wrong today. He let out a groan of annoyance and a few more curse words before giving up on the search. Opening his dresser drawer, Yugyeom grabbed the first shirt his hand could grab, leaving his room like a disaster and heading for the stairs.
You weren't really paying attention. Jackson was writing small notes to you while he was checking your work and Bambam was on his phone giggling every ten seconds. He didn't seem to care about studying at all. You starred off into space until you started to see footsteps coming from the second floor. You started messing around with your laptop. Opening up random things pretending like you were setting something up, trying to look busy.
The loud shuffling and cursing had stopped so you assumed that it was Yugyeom coming down the stairs. So your eyes moved from your laptop screen to the stairs in front of you. You didn't want Yugyeom to feel like you started without him, even though you kinda did.
As Yugyeom made his way down the stairs your face immediately turned bright red. While he was walking down, Yugyeom was also midway through putting on a black and yellow striped shirt. He was still getting it over his head while coming down the stairs. You were looking directly at Yugyeom as he walked down the stairs. Not only could you see his abs, but his completely exposed chest and a small trail of hair that peaked out from under his waistline. You subtly checked your nose thinking it might have started to bleed. It took a few seconds for Yugyeom to realize you could see him.
When he finally pulled his head through his shirt he could see you and Jackson staring right at him. Yugyeom assumed that you would be studying in the living room since that was where Jackson liked to study. Of course, he was wrong. You looked back down at your laptop and tried to pretend you weren't looking at Yugyeom.
