《Legends meet the 100》Chapter 8

"What happened?"
The Commander's voice made everyone freeze in their tracks.
It was dark by now which made it hard to make out what had happened here. Some light from the ship was the only thing that was illuminating the area a little.
The legends were halfway up the Waverider's ramp. They were surrounded by grounders who seem to have been attacking them. One of the legends was being held down by four grounders.
"Hod op! (Stop)", the Commander roared angrily. "Em pleni! Chit don kom au hir? (Enough! What happened here?)" Noone dared to step forward and receive the full attention of the displeased leader. The legends thought it better to remain quiet.
"Riva", Indra addressed one of her warriors directly, "what happened?" The grounder stepped forward and spoke quickly in their language. The Commander turned towards the legends' captain afterward. "One of your people attacked my warriors."
It had been a very long day for Sara, who was beginning to feel very tired and therefore was a little on edge. Admittedly, the team had been unusually obedient today. They had surprisingly not caused any trouble up until now. Why couldn't they stay in line now too?
"I don't know what happened. Maybe one of my people attacked your warriors. I don't know. Let me talk to them. I will find out what happened. Can you please tell your people to get off my man and away from my team now?"
Lexa nodded and yelled out a few orders in their strange language. Her warriors backed off immediately and let Sara and Ava through to the rest of their team.
"Why can't the team listen to orders as well as they do?", Ava whispered. Sara heard her but didn't answer.
Mick was groaning but knew better than to complain when the two women reached the team. He had been the one who had been held down by the grounders. "So what did you do this time?", Sara asked annoyed.

Nate responded that everything had been fine for the longest time. "Everyone was calm until Mick decided that he was bored and -" He got interrupted by Zari who remarked, "Of course he couldn't just wait here with us like everyone else. He just had to act up and - Hey!" Ava cut her off, "Mick, what did you do?" The bad-tempered man explained, "I just wanted to go back to my room, but one of those stupid ground people had to stand in my way and try to stop me. So -" "So you pushed him off the ramp", Zari finished his sentence. "Hmm" Mick shrugged his shoulders. "And then they attacked us", Astra finished the recount.
"You just had to push him, didn't you?", Zari scolded Mick. Sara wasn't listening to them anymore. "Why does this always have to happen?", Ava asked rhetorically. Sara was trying to figure out how to explain this to the Commander. She looked over to where the grounder's leader was standing. She was talking to Indra. That's when Sara realized that Clarke was making her way over to the legends.
"So, what happened?", she inquired as soon as she reached Sara. The legends' captain quickly explained what happened. The blonde grounder nodded after Sara was done. She seemed to be a little relieved. "OK", she added, "I will update the Commander and then come back to you with her orders regarding her offer." Sara thanked her and watched her leave.
An elbow to her ribs caused her to turn her head and face the owner of that elbow while rubbing her ribs where the elbow had hit her. "Do I have to be worried?", Ava asked. "What?", Sara asked confused. "Clarke. You like her", Ava analyzed. "Yes", Sara agreed. "She might become very helpful in terms of getting the Commander on our side", she clarified. Ava eyed the captain suspiciously but stayed quiet. "You don't have to worry about her, babe", the ex-assassin reassured her girlfriend. A grin crept on Ava's face.

"Can you please shut up?", Astra broke up Zari's angry self-monolog that was addressed at Mick. "This is giving me a headache." Zari gave her an angry stare but stayed quiet. Nate thanked her which was acknowledged with an annoyed "You too". Everyone in the group was looking at her. When she realized it she asked, "Do I have something in my face". This caused everyone to look away embarrassed.
Clarke nodded satisfied and left the Commander. For some reason, she always ended up being the messenger. She walked over to the legends. There was a weird atmosphere around them. They were all just sitting there in silence, except for Sara and Ava who were standing next to the group and chatting. Clarke cleared her throat which caught Sara's attention.
"What did she decide?" There was slightly nervous anticipation in Ava's voice. "She stuck with her offer. Did you explain it to your team yet?" Sara shook her head. "Alright. I suggest that you hurry up because it's getting late", Clarke remarked. She went a few steps away and waited for the captain to call her over.
"OK. Listen up, team. The Commander proposed a deal. Some of our people will stay here and repair the ship. There will be ten grounders here. Five will be allowed on the ship to watch us. The rest of us will accompany the Commander and her people to Polis." "What's Polis?", John wanted to know. "I believe, it's, like, their capital or something like that. It's definitely a city", Nate answered. "Who will stay here?", Zari asked. "That's what I was just going to say", Sara exclaimed impatiently. "Behrad, I'm sorry, but you're going to stay and do the repairs. Zari, you will assist him and Ava, make sure that they don't stir up any trouble. Contact me if something happens. Everyone else is coming with me to Polis." She added, "I am not in the mood to discuss this" when Zari opened her mouth to complain.
"Is no one going to say anything about letting grounders onto the Waverider?", Behrad pointed out. "You are right, but we don't have much of a choice, do we?", Sara claimed.
Then, she went over to Clarke and informed her about the final decision. Clarke nodded and responded that they would leave the next morning.
