《Forever | ✓》Epilogue - Forever (Part IV)

Liam
Happy.
That's at the top of the list of words to describe my overall being right now.
At the start of the ceremony, I could of sworn my heart was in my throat, the beat of it just resonating throughout my body, and my fingertips just felt fuzzy.
It was silly really, since I had been planning to propose to her for a while now, and this is what I've wanted, but actually being in this moment was something else. A different feeling altogether.
I was giving Rena her happily ever after.
After being her main cause of unhappiness for years, and endless amount of tears, I just wanted her to have at least one moment to cherish forever. Just like I will cherish her forever.
When the music began, I felt my hands shake, and had to keep them clenched in a fist.
Rena loved listening to classical music when she was trying to unwind after a long day. She would often relax and listen to a cover of Disney songs, but that were played by the piano, violin or cello. It was why I knew this would be perfect for her to walk out to.
Then slowly, the bridesmaids began walking out, each of them behind this annoying curtain, which meant that I couldn't clearly see Serena. I could catch glimpses of her, but that's it. It was killing me.
Everyone began to whisper looking at each of them walking out, with flowers in their hand.
They were all smiling at me and when Sara walked out, she was grinning at me.
She must know that Rena looked dropped-dead gorgeous right now, and the wait of seeing her was killing me. I was so close to just walking down that damn aisle myself.
When the music changed slightly, I knew that it meant that Serena was about to walk out, and so I prepared myself, taking deep breaths.
Breathe in and breathe out.
However, after a few seconds had passed and no one else walked out, my anxiety was on a new height. My worries were slowly beginning to get the better of me, as every second went by, and she still hadn't walked out.
I thought she wanted this, just like me. Surely, she wouldn't leave me like this. I think.
Everyone began to look at each other in confusion, my parents facing me with equally bewildered looks.
When I looked to Sara, she gave me a shake of the head and a shrug, which meant that she was lost as I was, and that was worrying.
Sara and Rena were basically like sisters, and if she didn't know what this pause meant, I definitely didn't.
Then - thankfully - music began to play again, and when I looked to the entrance of the door, I saw my daughter walking out with a bright smile on her face and the flower basket in hand. Alongside her was Daisy, her flowers gripped between her teeth, and Hugo, holding onto Daisy's collar.
They all looked so adorable, my eyes already began to sting with the feeling of oncoming tears.
When Bea began to carefully throw the flower petals, she looked like she was concentrating so hard so she wouldn't get it wrong. It was amusing.
Hugo walked to Sara, still holding onto Daisy, and she gave him a kiss. Sara's Mum then came to take Hugo, since Danny was holding Sofia.
Bea walked right up to me and I bent down to quickly kiss her cheek.
When I whispered she did a good job, she grinned and whispered 'good luck' to me.

I remember shaking my head as she went to sit down, only to look up and realise I definitely needed good luck because the sight before me, had me floored.
Rena. She was beautiful.
I couldn't take my eyes away from her and why would I even want to or make an attempt to.
She was striking and so gorgeous, it was everything. Her dress, her hair, her smile...her. Everything.
Only when Chris nudged me, did I realised that I had been frozen in place, and by now Rena was beginning to take steps towards me. With the smile on her face, it was clear that she had seen my state.
Our eyes were just locked together, as if no one was was here apart from the two of us.
With her every step, she was taking my breath away, until she was right in front of me and all I could do was breathe in her intoxicating scent.
Her Dad wouldn't let her hand go, which was sweet, but when he did, I was the quick to take it in mine. Never wanting to let her go.
The words just wouldn't come out of my mouth when I tried to compliment Rena, or even when I tried to say my vows. All I could manage was a slightly stutter, before feeling choked up from the emotion.
Every word from Rena was just adding to the perfection the moment was and she was. She loved me so much and I could only hope to love her just as much, and was determined to keep her happy.
Now as her husband, I was going to make sure to keep a smile on her face.
The reception was held in the garden as well. A long table for the immediate family to sit at, whilst smaller tables were arranged in an arch, creating a makeshift dance floor in the middle.
I hired a band to play music, because Serena had mentioned she loved that more than the usual DJs. They were pretty amazing and even taking some requests and playing new songs.
Getting up from my seat, from next to Rena, I walked to the middle of the dance floor.
I knew everyone was eyeing me weirdly, but it didn't matter. I nodded to the band, who stopped play the music, and when I turned, I saw Rena giving me a weird look.
Bea sat on her lap, a plate of cake in front of them. Rena had her arms around Bea's waist, the two of them facing me.
I cleared my throat, a little loudly, until everyone's attention was solely on me.
"Excuse me," I said and looked around to see all eyes were now on me. "Hi, so uh, I'd like to make a toast to my darling wife."
"Can you even get through this one?" I knew exactly where that voice came from, and looked to table seeing my Dad grinning at me.
I was being heckled by Dad. Great.
That grin didn't last long, since he earned a smack on the back from my Mum.
"Peter." she said his name in a scolding tone.
When I moved my eyes back to Rena, I saw her smiling at me.
She mouthed the word 'breathe', knowing that I really needed that in this moment and I did just that, calming myself down.
Keeping my eyes on her, I began. "Earlier I couldn't seem to get through my vows. My Rena just had me speechless, walking down the aisle, looking like a freaking Goddess," I said, and saw her cheeks turn a shade of red.

Some wolf whistles echoes, and I shook my head grinning, knowing it was our friends who was doing that.
"So, I'm going to try again," I said, looking at Rena, and she nodded, with a smile on her lips.
"There's been a lot of change in my life-," I began to say, keeping my eyes trained on Rena, watching for only her reaction as she seemed to do the same. I filtered everyone else out, and imagined it was only her. "-Some changes on purpose, some out of my control. My Bea, is without a doubt, the best change in my life."
A little laugh echoed in the hushed silence, and I saw Rena hug Bea tighter to her body.
"However, before Bea, there was a change that I hadn't realised would turn my life around, and become something more," I said.
Another calming breath, and I spoke up again. "At five-years old, we moved home. I had no clue that the next time I went to ride my bike, I'd end up meeting my soulmate, or more accurately, crashing right outside her house," I chuckled.
There was some laughter in the room, and I knew our friends and family were all too familiar with this story of how we met.
"Everything about her was pure magic, enchanting and captivating," I said, looking straight at Rena, remembering her smile, her worry and her kiss on me knee. "Till this day, I don't know how she does it," I added, and saw her cheeks turn a little rosy, whilst she gently shook her head.
"There are different ways in which someone can be your soulmate, and it doesn't always have to start out being in a romantic kind of way," I said, knowing that my confession could cause some doubt, because this wasn't my first time falling in love or getting even getting married.
However, I knew that my feelings were genuine and so did Rena.
"For me, my soulmate was a friend," I said, looking at Rena, whose eyes were still locked onto mine. "You became my soulmate, by befriending me. By knowing me, more than I probably know myself."
"This journey. This incredibly long journey that we've been on, seemingly to come together, it's really been something," I sighed.
"I've hurt you, upset you and made you cry, none of which I wanted, and if I could take it all back, I would in a heartbeat," I told her regretfully and Rena's face went softer at my words.
"But I wouldn't let you go," I added, with a grin.
"Go on, son!" Dad yelled, and once again, Mum smacked him.
I couldn't help but laugh at that, as did Rena.
"As your husband, I want to promise you, in front of everyone, that I will be better, and will do better by you," I told her with nothing but truth, determination and honesty in my words and in my heart.
""I'm sometimes in awe that you could ever love me, and love me so much. Just being considered worthy of your love, is more than I could ever hope for," I confessed.
"All I want is the chance to love you, like you deserve to be loved," I said, knowing that she deserves a lot more than me, but I was going to make sure to at least be someone that deserves her.
Outstretching my hand, I looked towards Rena.
She whispered something in Bea's ear, who then hopped off of Rena's lap, and sat in her own seat.
Like this ethereal being, Rena then walked towards me gracefully, and at that point, I knew all eyes would be on her.
She stopped in front of me, and placed her soft hand in mine. I closed my palm around her, and stepped forward, closer to her.
"I am going to spend the rest of my years, loving you endlessly and making up for all the time that I didn't," I promised her.
With my other hand, I cupped her face and Serena leaned into it. "You, Serena Hunter, are my person and I promise to give you the best of myself. To be faithful, kind, loving, all that you want and more. Because all I want is you, Rena, nothing more."
Everyone was quiet and just watching us, whilst we kept our eyes only on each other.
Before I could lean in, Rena was the one to grab onto my collar and pull me in to a kiss.
I held onto her as I stumbled and she clutched me tightly. People laugh and cheered, and all I could do was pull her into my closer than she already was.
Pulled away, we both looked flustered and in a mess of a state. However, she was still stunning.
Still holding onto Rena, I smiled.
"I didn't mess up," I told her with a grin, fearing that I would tank this whole speech up, again.
I didn't want it to be like the wedding where I couldn't get a word out, yet now I managed to get every word out.
"You didn't," Rena smiled at me and then cupped my face. "I'm so proud of you," she told me, and the words did something to my heart, that it began to flip and I couldn't help but kiss her again.
I will never get enough of this.
Serena
The day had gone by, and now the sun was now setting on what was the most beautiful day of my life.
Some of our guests had retired to the rooms for the evening. Since Liam had booked the whole place, no one needed to journey back home.
My feet were aching after all the dancing, but thankfully my sweet husband was so thoughtful, and brought out fuzzy slippers for me to wear, which had the engraving Mrs on them, in golden cursive writing.
Everyone had enjoyed themselves and I lost count for how many times I was told how happy they all were for me.
I danced with Will, who was so over the moon for me. Their baby was walking about now, and like Will, their baby was clumsy as well. Lola had a tough pregnancy, and there was worry for her well-being, but she fought her way through. He was so happy to be a father, and it suited it so much.
It was amusing to us both, that were also close to being married, and possibly could have had a wedding like this, where he was the groom. It wasn't weird, just funny. Funny how things work out.
I even got dance with Holden. I hadn't realised that I missed him, until we began to catch up whilst dancing. He was doing so well in Chicago, with his beautiful family. His wife was expecting another, and the couple could not be more excited. He was still so handsome, just like he was in high school. A kind heart was still something he had.
Holden told me he always had an inkling that I harboured something for Liam, but he never minded. He loved me back that, and whilst I wasn't sure of my own feelings at that time, I know I cared deeply for him. He was my first kiss after all.
Danny also pulled me aside for a dance. He let me in on how he may have talked to Liam before the wedding, and that talk might have also included some threats. I sort expected it, so I could only laugh at his words.
Throughout everything, Danny was my constant. My shoulder to lean on and my hand to hold. Without him, I don't think I would've had the strength to keep going, to make it till here. I was so thankful for him.
One of my favourite moments from this wedding, was seeing Liam and Bea dance together, her standing on his feet. It was a father-daughter dance, and whilst I danced with my Dad, the two of them swayed together as well.
At one point, Liam picked Bea up in his arms and danced. My Dad obviously saw me smiling like that, and with strength I didn't know he still had, he picked me up as well.
Liam's Dad, Peter, also wished to dance with me, and I was surprised at how good of a dancer he was. I wasn't expected to waltz with my father-in-law, but I did, and it was so fun.
Looking at the sunsetting, I realised that this was our first sunset as a married couple, and although a little stupid, I wanted to watch it together.
Only, I couldn't find my husband.
Before I even had to ask anyone, I could see Liam standing at the balcony of one of the rooms, looking out.
Smiling at the sight of him basking in the sunlight, I excused myself from everyone, and made my way to him.
Liam hadn't even noticed that I was in the room with him, or if he had, he didn't even say anything.
Silently walking towards him, I stood next to Liam, peering over the balcony and into the view, just as he was.
"What are you doing here?" I asked Liam, smiling as I glanced down to our guests below.
"Nothing. Just taking everything in," he said, and I turned my head towards him, seeing a smile on his face.
I couldn't take my eyes off of him. "I'm so happy," I said, and when Liam turned to me, he smiled wider seeing how I was already looking at him.
"Me too," he said, wrapping and arm around my waist to pull me closer to his side, whilst I rested my head against his shoulder.
Everything about this day was something from my dreams and the fact that Liam was the one to give me all of this, it made it all the more special.
"Thank you. Thank for all of this," I told Liam, feeling so grateful.
He pulled me into him, circling his arms around my waist, whilst I placed both my hands on his chest. Liam looked down at me and I had to tilt my head up to look at him.
"You never have to thank me," he said, moving one hand to cup my cheek.
I leaned into his hand, closing my eyes with content smile on my face. When I opened them, Liam was still looking down at me.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, causing him to frown at my unexpected question.
"Why'd you ask that?" He said, tilting his head slightly in clear confusion.
"I know this has to be hard for you, even just a little bit," I said.
This couldn't be easy for him at all, and I knew that. He didn't have to say it, but memories have a way of getting into people's mind and this was definitely something that would be on his mind.
Liam smiled. "I'm okay, more than okay. I'm married to you," he said.
I laughed at this.
He leaned down, placing his forehead against mine. His hands were both on my waist again, and I felt a slight squeeze.
"I love," he breathed out.
Liam held me for a while, as swayed slightly to the light music that could be heard in the garden down below.
"Tell me something?" I said to Liam, pulling away only slightly to look up at him.
He hummed in response, brushing away a loose tendril of my hair from my face.
I traced my finger over the left side his chest. "This heart of yours, is it big enough to love us all?"
Liam gave me a weird, but amused, look. "Of course," he stated.
"It has enough place for Bea?" I asked him.
He nodded in the affirmative. "Yes," he replied to my words.
"A place for me?" I asked innocently, causing Liam to let out a little chuckle at me words, and pull me flush against him.
"It's all yours," he told me, causing me to grin.
I traced his chest again, biting my lip. Liam was already waiting for the next question, and I took a deep breath, before speaking up again.
"Is there any room for maybe, a little you?" I asked, and waited with bated breath for his answer.
Liam's face scrunched up a little and he leaned back a little.
When I took one of his hands, and placed it against my stomach, he finally understood what I was trying to, not-so-subtly, hint at.
He stumbled back at little. "A-are you?" Liam asked, stuttering slightly and wide eyes.
I nodded, the grin not leaving my face. "Three weeks," I confirmed.
When I found out last week, I was so over the moon, it was the hardest thing I've ever done keeping it to myself. I knew that Liam was planning to take me to the spa, and so I thought that would be the perfect time to tell him.
I had no clue this trip would turn into my wedding.
"You're pregnant," Liam stated, taking laboured breaths.
"You gave me a wedding, so I tried to give you something better," I shrugged nonchalantly.
However, when Liam said nothing more, I felt a slight panic in my chest.
"Are you happy?" I asked nervously, wondering if this was maybe too much for him to take in right now.
Liam finally looked up to my worried face, and his face broke out in a wide grin, all my worries were chased away.
"So fucking happy," he said, cradling my face in his hands and happy tears began to trail down my cheeks, the overwhelming emotion too hard to contain within me.
"Rena, you're-..., God, I-I love you so damn much, Rena." Liam couldn't seem to finish his words, but instead pulled me in for a kiss, letting me know just how he felt, and I drank his kiss in, feeling all that he felt.
A knock on the door has us both pull away breathlessly, and turning our head, we saw Bea peeking in.
"Did you tell him?" She asked, and I nodded at her.
Keeping the secret was too hard for me, so I told Bea. I just couldn't wait.
"You knew?" Liam asked her as she nodded and he then turned to me as I shrugged at him.
He didn't have a chance to say anything to me, as Bea ran to us.
"I'm going to be a big sister," she almost screamed so happily and jumped into Liam's arms, as he caught her effortlessly.
