The door cracked open as Sonic twisted the door knob, stepping inside of the house he once owned. The wooden house is located deep into the Mystic ruins and is hard to spot because of its dark wood coating.

He stepped inside, the sunset lighting up the empty house from the doorway. Dusty and cold, but the feeling alone of coming home is enough for the hedgehog to feel comfort.

Every step he make- the floor creaks as well as some dust jumps up along. Sonic scanned the room he approaches. The house is covered in wooden walls, flooring and ceiling that forms upwards in a triangle. One or two loggs placed over the ceiling for support. He walks in the living room, looking over all the dusty picture frames hanging on the wall. He picked up one that stands on the light wooden commode underneath the frames. Blowing away the dust, as well as wiping off the rest with his hand. A familiar face popped out with his bright colors and blue eyes. “Miles…?” A young kitsune is smiling brightly at the camera that took this picture. His fingers up a peace sign, eyes reflecting in the sun. “He looks so happy..”

Sonic scanned over the other pictures as well, seeing the fox multiple times. “He and I were friends- that is something that I already know, but…” He focused his gaze on the smiling fox in the frame. “What made things go so- wrong?”

He placed the picture back down on the commode, making his way up the stairs that is located further into the room. Two doors and railings so that one can’t fall down from the second floor. He tried opening the first door, but it wouldn’t budge. He peeked through the keyhole, narrowing his eye to get a better view. He could catch a small glimpse of the room; messy and most of the furniture is damaged due to experiments and what seems like rage. “If me and Miles lived with each other, that must probably be his room” He talked to himself, standing up and walking towards the other door. Unlocked, he twisted the knob and stepped inside. Peeking from the door, Sonic looked in what seems like his own room. “Man, I haven’t been here in ages…”

A singular bed with dark blue, messed up sheets, pillow on the ground, a few empty boxes of Chaos cola and a commode. A few blankets covered the ground. “Yup, this is a total mess” Sonic chuckled to himself, letting go of the door and stepped in. He slumped down on the bed and laid his arms behind his head- sighing. “I forgot how comfortable this bed was” He said with a smile.

The morning sunlight covered the room with a bright, yellow shine. He opened his eyes, blinking to the sudden brightness of the room. He sat up, stretching. “Miles told me that I need to go to the first place that comes to mind when I think of him. This is the place I think of- he must have left a hint here somewhere…” Sonic mumbled, walking out of his room.

He searched for any notes in the living room, bathroom, kitchen- he stopped. His eyes gazed to the fridge. There hangs a small note attached with a magnet that looks like Green Hill. He took it down and opened the note. But there is something different about this than the others he have gotten- this one is beige in color, crumbled and looks a few years old. It read:

Dear Sonic.

You may or may not wonder where I am right now, but I am long gone. I am going to tell you why;

For a few years now I have been hiding something from you. I tried to tell you yesterday, that I needed help- but you didn’t listen to me- nor did you help…

Still, my mind is set to you and only you, but-

I am insane Sonic, a murderer. I killed those mobians in the Science school, I am the one who did all of those maniac experiments on them- and I am sorry! I just can’t stop… It’s like quitting eating chili dogs completely- you can’t imagine that right? That’s how I feel about my situation…

Sonic- I hope to become sane one day, but don’t get your hopes up. I pray, dream and hope that you won’t forget me… But a part of me know you will-

Call me one day by the name I love so much, to show me you haven’t forgotten- will you?

And… I love you, I always have and will.

- Miles

“He- was my boyfriend. So, it is true huh?” Sonic thought, placing the note back on the fridge. He sighed, walking out of the house and closing the door slowly. He stands on the doorstep for a few seconds, before he walked in again, grabbing a picture out of its frame before leaving. ‘At least I have something from this house for now’

X

There is one thing that keeps occupying his mind on his way back. ‘What made me forget? My memories didn’t just fade away did they?’

Sonic ran in direction towards his friend’s home, Cream. He feels terrible for forcing information out of her, he means no harm with it, but no one else wants to cooperate with him, so he doesn’t have much of a choice. Just as he reached her home, he found himself in a repeating situation:

Door open, cracked and noises from inside. With all of his muscles tensed- he spindashed through the door, breaking it completely and found a familiar face. Right. In. Front. Of him. He lost his breath.

“Goodnight Sonikku~”

A darkness washed over the azure colored hedgehog as he fluttered his eyes open. He could not see anything, but he could feel a chilling cold, rub against his cheeks, like a window is open on winter night, sneaking inside of a bunker. Which isn’t so far from reality. Sonic’s ears moved to a sound of a switch. “Hello-? AAGH" Sonic pinched his eyes shut to the light- that suddenly got flicked on.

“Oopsies, didn’t mean to blind ya~” Miles said, walking towards the hedgehog with a wicked smile. “I just couldn't wait any longer~”

Sonic listened to Miles voice as he got closer. Noticing in the same time, he is not tied up or trapped in any way. The fox, holding what looks like a bag with knives.

“Miles, before you do something drastic- we can talk about this" Sonic stepped backwards, holding his hands up in defence. “Oh? So now you want to talk?”

“Listen, I may not completely know what exactly happened four years ago, but I am sorry. I really am- you-”

“Need help? Are insane? Should see a therapist?” Miles closened in. The friendly smile he first thought was there, is no longer present. His smile widened. “It's sad really- You still believe there is hope. For both you and your friends, but there is only darkness-” Miles started walking around Sonic, like a hunter watches its prey.

“You know now that I have murdered people as well as playing with your silly little head~” He swirled his finger around his own head. Chuckling.

“Little did you know~ But tell me-” Miles laid his hands on Sonic's shoulders from behind, like a snake. “Can you remember what Amy said the time I encountered her?~” A memory shot through Sonic's mind;

‘I know what was injected!!’

Sonic nodded slowly, Miles smirked and eyelids fell down. “Have you asked her what that may have been?” Sonic thought again for a second, then shakes his head.

“As I expected” He let go of Sonic's shoulders, sliding off his back and walking in front of him.

“You see Sonikku, long before I ever started playing with you and your friends- I liked to, experiment with things. Different gas, liquids and toxics, mixing them together to see their reaction. Science stuff. I wanted to see the outcome of my experiments for the past days…” Miles covered his forehead with his hand, a vicious smile spread across his lips.

“So, I injected one in each of your friends”

His words tears through Sonic's heart. “no….” He only managed to whisper.

Miles couldn't stop enjoying himself threatening the hedgehog. “But sadly, not all of them worked as I wanted them to- so, in return-” The fox pressed a button, making a blue screen light up in the middle of the room from a small projector. Showing off his friends one after the other.

“Silver, struggling with his head. Blaze, battling inside injury. Knuckles, who I managed to get my hands on eventually, all of a sudden passed out. Amy, however-” The screen vanished, Sonic could barely control his emotions. All of his friends have been attacked, played with. ‘Just like me…’

“You… you…” Sonic's hands is shaking, no, his entire body is trembling with emotions. Sadness, anger, concern, rage, confusion- they are all bundled up in a ball. “Sonikku~ Amy survived” Sonic's mind stopped spinning, he turned his head to the side, only to be knocked over by some creature. “In a way~” The fox chuckled darkly.

Sonic struggled getting out of the ball who he is rolling around with. He managed to get pinned down by the creature, who turned out to be Amy. “A-Amy!?” Miles laughs, clutching his stomach. “Isn't she incredible!? Even better than the original if I do say so myself!~”

“Y-You turned her into a monster!” Sonic shouted, throwing her off him. She only got back up, shot herself at Sonic and throws him into the wall. “But this isn't any different is it? She never stopped chasing you~”

Amy is transformed into what looks like a zombie, with her whole eyes covered in yellow, skin crumbled and scars that are unable to bleed. “Snap out of it Amy!” Sonic shouted, running around in circles as she followed him like an angry dog. Growling like one too.

“My my, this is entertaining~” The fox snickers to himself as he watches the hedgehogs run in circles around him. His heart beating with pleasure. ‘I wonder what he will do if I do something similar…~'

“Stop this Miles!” Sonic shouted out, snapping him out of his thoughts. The fox could tell the hedgehog didn't enjoy the game as much as he did. He sighed. “Fine then-” Miles brought out a gun. Before Sonic could tell him to stop, he shot a bullet through her head without hesitation.

Her body fell limp to the ground, her groaning stopped, and so did Sonic's heart. “Are you mad now?~” The fox smirked, blowing the smoke away from the gunhole.

“Y-you…!” Miles laughed, showing off his thin eyes. Sonic growled, dashing towards the fox, preparing to land a hit on the fox's body containing all the rage he buildt up, wherever he could reach.

Miles jumped up however. “Let the game begin~” A metallic door opened and the lights went out. Only Miles' laughter echoed in the hall.

“One and two, I am coming for you~” As Sonic heard Miles count down- he knew he couldn't stand around any longer. He spurted down the recently opened door and found himself in what seems like a maze. Just with hallways and no doors. 'Shit'

Miles began singing a melody he knew all too well. From a terrifying movie that is. “Three and four, you better find a door~” With a small twist to it.

“Oh, Sonikku~ Where are you?~” Miles teased him. The hedgehog hears the fox’s footsteps walking towards him, quick as lightning he ran through all the different hallways. A hand against the walls to lead him. “I can hear you running, how come sweety? Are you scared?~” The voice chuckled. It echoed through all hallways, Sonic is unable to exactly hear where it's coming from. His heart almost beating its way out of his chest. ‘If he finds me now I am toast’

‘I need a room to breathe for a second…’ Sonic slowed his running to a walk, leaning up against the metallic wall. He takes slow and steady breaths, hoping deeply that Miles can't hear him. “Come out, come out wherever you are~”

Sonic clutched his heart, hoping it would stop beating the life out of him. ‘This isn't right. What happened yesterday? With the kiss? He seemed so sane, normal for a change…’ Sonic slid down the wall, his quills standing up against it.

‘Is there anything I can do to make him normal?’

A movement made Sonic stiffen, he moved his head just in time to not get hit by something incredibly sharp. ‘A ninja star!?’ Sonic’s eyes just managed to see Miles move, before another ninja star attached itself to the wall beside him. “Found you!”

Sonic didn't hesitate to bail, he ran as fast as he could, trying his best not to crash into all the walls. “Where are you going!?” Miles laughed. One could see his smile without using its eyes.

Sonic's sweat dropped, this time he could feel the tension between him and Miles. Some may wonder why he doesn't fight the fox back, ‘I can't fight, if I can't see!’

“Five and six, get your crucifix~”

Speeding through the hallways in fear, not having a single clue on what to do to stop this madman once known as his boyfriend. Suddenly he hears the sound of sirens. They are faint, but still there. ‘Wait, who called the police?’

But, because he looked back when hearing the sirens, he crashed into the nearest wall. Flopping down onto his back with a groan. ‘Stupid hedgehog…’ His mind spinned, he pushed himself up, shaking his head, trying to get his consciousness back.

”Seven, eight- It's too late~”

He wasn't able to be up on his own for long, because someone pushed Sonic against the wall he had a meeting with- which was Miles.

“You really love running away from little old me, don't you?” He looked at Sonic, holding him up by his jacket shoulders. His enjoyable expression faded away like dust in the wind. “Why don't you and I take a break from this massacre? Enjoy ourselves a little, like before?~” Delight spread across Miles’ face, causing him to lean in. Preparing for another connection with the hedgehog-

“No!” A shot was fired from a gun. What Sonic see in front of him is the fox letting go of him, clutching onto his ear, while releasing a painful scream, stumbling backwards- he shot a death glare at the person who fired the bullet.

“R-Rotor!?” Sonic shouted.

“Stop this Miles, you need help! You will get it, when they come. I promise!” The walrus shouted, dropping the gun on the floor. His expression screamed that he didn't intend to shoot.

A door slammed open, revealing screams and shouts and orders coming from all corners. The pair could see flickering lights approaching them in this twisted maze.

“You called the police?” Sonic tried getting over the fact that he was supposed to be dead. He only nodded, watching Miles’ ear slowly dripping down his hand, creating a small puddle of blood beneath him.

“You !” The fox shouted, dragging his pocket knife out of his pocket.

“Freeze or we will open fire!!” Numerous police officers pointed their guns at the fox. Sonic held his hands quickly up in the air, as did the walrus- hoping they would not shoot them without a warning. Some of the officers however, ran over to them, pushed Miles down to the ground. Twisting his right arm on his back and his left pointed straight forward. Head to the side- still, he shows no sign of resistance.

None did anything to him and the walrus.

One of the officers picked up what looked like a walkie-talkie.

“Sir, We have Miles Prower pinned down- over”
