Stepping back with fright running through his body, his heart beat increasing to no end and his eyes filled with awareness- Sonic remained calm in front of the crocodile. As Vector have been spying on his actions since the very beginning, Sonic have lost his trust in the detective agency, as well as the police. “Look Vector, I don’t know what you are thinking right now, but I am not a traitor. You got this all wrong” He said, calmly. Looking him in the eyes.
“Shut your mouth before I do, Sonic. We trust you, trusted you. What do you do? Stab us all in the back with your plans” Vector scowled, loading his gun in hand. Ready to end Sonic’s life. “What in the whole wide world are you talking about?! I am still on your side! Miles is playing with me like he does to everyone out there, you don’t understand what situation you are in Vector!”
The green crocodile now have his gun placed on Sonic’s forehead. Threatening to shoot. “Our cooperation is over Sonic. You haven’t just betrayed the detective agency and the police, but also let innocents die with serious amounts of pain they didn’t deserve” He pressed the gun against the head, pushing him towards a nearby tree. “You have never met Miles face to face! He will trick you to catch your own tail!” Sonic shouted, but Vector is without ears to listen with.
“We will catch Miles, if it’s the last thing we do. Your job is over, so is your life. Goodbye Sonic”
“I don’t think so” A gunshot echoed in the area around them. Sonic fell and covered his ears as fast as the gunshot sounded. He quickly looked up, meeting Vector’s gaze. His eyes wide and his right hand covering the left side of his chest with blood covering his white glove. Soon after, he lost his footing and fell down with the struggle to breathe.
Sonic turned around, his eyes widened once more with surprise. A person hiding, up in a tree- who is none other than Miles. His clothes hiding his presence in between the leaves. His hand holding a gun, he raised it up to his mouth, blowing the dust away from the fire hole. “About time he shut up, that guy is a nuisance”
The hedgehog did nothing but watch him jump down from his hiding spot. Slowly walking towards where he stands. His heart rate speeds up, yet his feet did not budge. A cold, but warm feeling shot through his veins. Relieved that he didn’t get shot, but unsure of what Miles wants and how he even knew about this. Dozens of questions running through his head, but none of them have an answer.
“You look so shaken love, and that concerns me, what’s wrong?” Miles closened in, but keeps his distance, careful not to scare him too much. Sonic, stiff as an icicle, looked at the murderer- catching unknown details about the fox.
Under the moon that is now revealed from the clouds coverage, shines down onto the fox’s fur, lighting up his presence. His gun is put away into his pocket and he doesn’t seem to have any other weapon armed- but who knows... His dark green hoodie, together with his dark blue jeans lit up by the moon, but only from his back. One detail however caught his eyes. The fox’s eye color. They did not face the light, but they have a shine, an unknown shine.

Something deep down in him recognize that shine. An emotion- a helpless face… ‘help me… please…’
A click grabbed the hedgehog’s attention away from Miles. The green crocodile have his own gun pointed towards the fox, arm shaking from the gunshot on the left part of his chest. “Miles Prower, murderer of thousands-"
“That’s me~” Miles interrupted, poking his tongue out, smirking by the amount of courage he contains. Vector loaded the gun, ready for it to shoot. “Let’s make this quick then- painful or harmful?” The crocodile growled, waiting for the fox to answer, so he could be satisfied with the death. “My my, I don't have that many choices huh? They are pretty much the same, but-" Miles inhaled- then exhaled air. A puffy cloud escaping his lips from the rising cold of the autumn night.
“Shoot me” He simply said. “W-what?”
“I said shoot me" A smile forming on his muzzle. “Come on, shoot me! What are you scared of?!” His smile widened and widened. “Shoot me Vector! Isn’t that what you want!?” He opened his arms to him. Soon his eyes turned thinner and shrinked. His chuckling turned to laughter, his laughter showing off his insanity building up. Insecurity and fright shot Vector like a bullet. “W-what. W-who are you!?” Vector’s hand started shaking badly from the amount of shock and fright hitting him.
Miles looking so confident, even though a gun is pointed at his head. “Like I said, you don’t know what situation you are in Vector…” Sonic answered. Who suddenly regained his calm.
Miles smiled just as devilish; with his pupils barely visible in his eyes. His emotion and body language shows no fear, but enjoyment. “C’mon, shoot me Vector! What are you waiting for!?” He laughed, clutching his stomach and losing his footing because of his movements. Vector couldn't let Miles’ reaction scare him (even though they just did) aiming at his chest and he pulled the trigger.
Just a click, but no shot. Vector pulled the trigger again and again, but no sound occurred. Miles is silent, until he chuckled darkly. He smiled widely as his hand covered his right eye. He turned his head to face Vector, his eyes glimmering with satisfaction. “Oh Vector-chan~ Can’t your detective head figure out what is going on?~” The fox teased. The crocodile dropped the gun, hitting the earth ground below him.
“It's empty" He said shortly, eyes wide with confusion, but also shaking with fear. “I knew, I always knew what you were up to greeny~” Miles stepped towards the crocodile, kneeling down beside his head. “How-?”
“It's simple, when a murderer is on the loose, there are always two main factors on the search; a detective and the police. Who is the only known detective here? Vector~ Who would look out to and find me? The fastest thing alive~” Vector tried his best to remain calm, his anger boiling over his head. A black shade covered Miles’ face, revealing how sly he can be. Only through his look, Vector and Sonic is able to see what he is capable of. He smirked.

“My knowledge goes beyond what you can only imagine, detective. I know when things happen, where they take place and the reason to why~” The wind increased its speed, the cold prickled Sonic’s skin and shivered its way to the core.
Miles picked up his own gun, pointing it towards Vector’s head. Smiled and said: “Bang~” Then put the gun back in his pocket. ‘Why didn’t he just shoot him?’ Suddenly asking himself what made him think so. But Vector’s expression changed. He looked terrified. ‘What look did you give him now Miles…?’
“You are quite the actor Vector-chan~ You play an important role in my game, why should I take care of an important piece like you so soon?”
“Why you-!” Quick as lightning, Miles shot his shoulder. He fell to the ground with blood dripping out from the wound. “Yet, It’s satisfying to see you fight while still in pain~ You are strong Vector-chan, but how strong exactly?” He asked himself, but also making the crocodile wonder, not showing so though.
Sonic, who have been looking at the scene without moving a muscle, grabbed his head in despair. Wondering why he doesn’t act, why he won’t move. This is his job; to help those in need, but it’s just like Miles paralyzed him with some sort of drug. ‘What have he done to me? I look at him doing everything wrong, and I let it happen, why!?’ His frustration crippled through his veins, his heart beating uncomfortably in his chest. The feeling of being stabbed multiple times.
“Sonikku? Why are you so frustrated?” He opened his eyes, facing the ground with his back shot up. Luckily he is still standing. Silence grabbed him from behind. Everything is dead quiet, his ears blocking out any possible noise. Only the fox’s footsteps is heard. Sonic can see Miles’ red and white sneakers in front of him. A soft, warm hand gently rubbed his cheek, bringing his face up to see him.
Sonic’s dark emerald eyes met Miles’ sky ones. As Sonic stared into them, he noticed how- beautiful they are. The moon gave them a glimmer only his eyes can possess. They made his eyes look like the night sky filled with stars.
“Don’t be scared Sonikku~ I am going to make everything better, turn them back to the way they were before” His face closened in, they are inches apart. Lips closing on each others- they shared a tender kiss. A spark shot through Sonic’s chest, increasing his heart beat to no limit. His arms wrapped around Miles’ body instinctively, bringing him closer to his chest. His right hand running through his hair, rubbing behind his ears; he feel his body heat up along with feeling his twin tails wag faster.
Miles returned the action, running his hand through Sonic’s quills, causing temptation to run through his body. But, Miles saved him from going any further with the action by gently pulling them apart. He sighed, his hand on Sonic’s chest and his other holding a finger at his lips.
He said nothing, nor did he move at all. They both stand in silence, by now Vector have passed out and they are alone until the agency notice their leader is gone. Not much time remains.
Sonic doesn't know what is going on in Miles’ head, how does he feel after what they did? He slowly removed his hand from his chest and from his lips. One thing though, did Sonic notice at once; Miles’ aura. Usually Miles is covered with a dark shadow that frightens people to the core with one look, now it’s gone. Faded away with the cold autumn air that lifted his bangs from his face. His eyes looked up to Sonic's, it’s like they smiled.
“My my.. for so long I have wanted to know this feeling. To feel it, happening to me. You have changed my game completely- Sonic…” Sonic is surprised. Miles haven't called him his original name for awhile. The fox turned to look away from him. “If you only knew the past, would you have let me do this? Tch" He chuckled, rubbing his forehead. “Nah, I doubt that. Sonic, by now you probably know that we were more than friends” The ground shook from hearing people run towards their destination, light flickering up from the end of the road. Miles grabbed Sonic’s neck collar, dragging him into one last kiss. “By now you know your role, find the place that first comes to mind- you will know what to do.I shall see you again soon, my love”
With the last words said, Miles ran off. By when the hedgehog blinked with his eyes, and the fox is long gone. He took one last glance towards Vector who lays peacefully on the ground with blood underneath him.
The hedgehog didn’t hesitate to run. Running always soothes him, puts his mind at ease. He hears voices behind him, but they do not know that either Sonic or Miles have been present. He looks up to the moon, his eyes reflecting a little of its light. His role is unknown to him, but as he shared this kiss with Miles, this one place comes to mind. His gaze is put to the road, his heart beating fast as his feet can run. Running towards this one destination he can think of;
His home.

Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Reborn Magician Tyrant [Old]
Author's Note #4: This is the old, hastily written version. A great magician from the Human Kingdom travels west to fight the Demon Kingdom. Finally, after eight long years of war, the Human Kingdom emerges triumphant! But, just as the Human Kingdom begins to celebrate the victory, an enemy from a land far to the east attacks! After rushing to help support the Human Kingdom capital against the assault, the magician is met with the sight of his beloved city razed to the ground. The magician fights off whatever invaders he can, using whatever tactics he knows, but he is eventually felled in combat due to the superior abilities of the invaders. However, death is not the end! The magician reincarnates, awakening as a citizen of the empire which conquered his home! Author's Note #3: Okay, that's the end for me. This is too boring for me to continue writing, and I've gotten back to writing Reborn as a Dungeon Core in an Apocalyptic World. At 26,772 words, this has gotten too boring for me to continue. I'm probably going to take this basic story and rewrite it into something way better w/ longer chapters, but at least I had fun for the six days it took to write this much. PS - Love the reviews; they're great. Way to go, dude with 22 thumbs up and 0 thumbs down!
